One of the best movies ever made. Not even kidding.
I saw it as a kid in my grandma's cellar. And yeah. It sticks with you.
I agree, but I am kidding.
26:39 John Coffee being an angel is a very popular explanation.
Yes. He's an "Empath ", a Seer and a Healer. John absorbed EVERYTHING around him emotionally... that's why he felt the little girls' pain and Del's pain. When he was walking to the chair he said to Paul the people there hated him and he could feel it. Paul told him to focus on what the 4 guards were feeling instead. He helped Paul "see" what Wild Bill had done through touch and prove his innocence. He healed Paul's infection, healed Mr Jingles and healed the warden's wife. He tried to heal the little girls when he found them, but it was "too late" and he "couldn't help it" and that's how they found him sobbing holding the girls. John Coffey was a Miracle.
Also, John Coffey has the same initials as Jesus Christ, who was also an empath, a seer, a teacher and a healer... whose story is told to us by a man named Paul. JC dies for someone else's sin and while doing so gave his loved ones the the gift of LIFE, 🙏
The best scene is when he asks, "what am I going to tell god on the day of my judgement? that is was my job?
I still sob uncontrollably at that part even after 25 years - and I'm not even a religious person, per se.
And when John says "I'm tired, boss." And when he asks for no hood 'cuz he's scared of the dark and later sings "I'm in Heaven" in the chair... Basically I cry the whole last 20 minutes.
I'm so glad Raeen got to see this! I'm not surprised Babu doesn't remember he already watched it. I couldn't help but laugh when he was arguing that Mr.Jingles couldn't be brought back to life, partly because he already saw it and party because he's always so sure he's right. Too bad Ruby couldn't watch with Raeen. They are a perfect pair for a movie with this kind of depth.
Who watched what and when?
@@dullaf4099Babu reacted to The Green Mile already with Badshah. The video is copyrighted now so it can't be viewd in the U.S. but like others have said I remember watching it before the copyright. According to other comments it was 10 months ago. Now he's reacted to the same movie but with Raeen and reacting as if it's the first time he's seen it.
@@rebeccasunnybrook3709 well that’s weird right? Makes you possibly think they are just acting and not giving genuine reactions. How could anyone who doesn’t have memory issues not remember this powerful and emotional movie 10 months ago?
@@dullaf4099 I don't think they're all acting. Raeen and Ruby, especially Ruby, get very engrossed in the movies they watch. They hardly talk at all because they get so busy taking it in. I've had people comment in the past that Babu is doing what he should as a reactor by talking so much. To me if you're reacting you have to actually be watching. Babu just rambles no matter what he's watching. Sarru watches and seems to be really trying to grasp sometimes but I think some things go over his head either due to interpretation or not getting references because of his age.
@@dullaf4099 babu barely even understands the movie he watches and it gets frustrating tbh. Hes definetly not acting just very very old. they should honestly replace him with ruby or others
"Bad actions have bad consequences, my brother". Once again, Babu nailed it!!
I've seen this at least 20 times and I still cry every single time. John Coffey was a Miracle.
They've seen the Shawshank Redemption and now the Green Mile... next up by the Stephen King/Frank Darabont duo is "The Mist" (2007).
Reading your other comments, you seem to have such a tender heart. Have you watched The Mist? Are you ok?
@@kylienagy8381 Yes and yes.
Everyone loves Paul Edgecomb and John Coffey, and they are awesome...but, tbh, my favorite GM character is Brutal - he's a gem! Everyone needs a best friend like him!
Before I watched this movie, I didn't know I had the capacity to cry a river.
Not many films can make a wreck.. this and Schindlers List was another ! Just excellent films !
Thank you for sharing.
Your point about it not being a big budget film is so important; nowadays they focus only on really big budget films with lots of special effects and they aren't always good (not saying none are, but often they spend tons of money on a nonsense film). You can make great art movies that are more simple like this without tons of special effects and they don't really do that much anymore. I also recommend Scent of a Woman with Al Pacino, I think you might like that one, also from the 90s.
I love their innocence in the way they take everything at face value, and simply see acts of evil, and acts of empathy and love, as exactly what they are.
Babu youre my favorite!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Such a WONDERFUL reaction and commentary from these gentlemen!! Babu made some really great points throughout this reaction :)
My favorite pair of gentleman...blessings! Very well done!
This film is based on a book by the same author as The Shawshank Redemption, Stephen King.
The book shows in one of its parts how the death penalty only falls on the most disadvantaged, because those who have money can solve it or delay it through lawyers and legal resources.
or in the same vein .. "If the penalty for a crime is a fine, that law only exists for the poor"
Anyone who sees this movie and doesn't tear up at least a little, is dead inside. lol
🙏
I"ve seen this at least 20 times and I still cry every single time.
@@LittleBlueOwl318 haha Yep. I've seen it about 10 times. My eyes welled up every time. One of the greatest movies ever made I think. Certainly the most emotionally moving film I've ever seen. It captures the human condition perfectly, showing the extremes of life. The extreme ugliness and the extreme beauty.
I wanna make a request? How about you do a video where you have these wonderful people tell abut thier lives childhood to present? Like a documentary? Please?! I am curious about how their life has been because theyre such lovely people. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I agree! Maybe also show some pictures from their childhood/youth and talk about them :)
babu is right, there are supermen, spidermen, heros' in this world, but you dont have to wear a cape, or a badge, to be a hero, or have honour. that comes from within
a once in a life time must see movie
The comments on Percy - too funny - and too true!
I detest Percy - he's my favorite movie villain.
Doug Hutchison is a such good actor to be able to make the audience hate Percy so much
An incredible, emotional film. One of my favorites. Excited for this react!
Thank you for your song. Listened twice.
One of my top 5 movies of all time, what a great choice Sir.
I am so so glad you guys reacted to this movie!
there never was a time, when i saw this movie and didn't cry....
same
Great movies and music break down barriers of every kind!!!
This is the best story that Stephen King ever wrote and fortunately the film had an excellent director who thoroughly understood the book. That's rare with Stephen King films. The Shawshank Redemption is the other exceptional film with the same director.
I love that Melinda gave him that medallion after John healed her. - St. Christopher is a patron saint... he offered protection to travelers and against sudden death, many churches placed images or statues of him, usually opposite the south door, so he could be easily seen. He is usually depicted as a giant, with a child on his shoulder and a sheperd's staff in one hand.
Fits John Coffey.
Keep singing Babu!!!
I wonder how long it will take before Babu realises he has seen this one already.
Yeah, he already saw it with Badshah. But that video is gone. I hope this one stays.
The real question is, will the viewers realize that this is some sort of reapload at best or a cheap acting at worst
@@markmuller7962That's what happened to "Tribal People Try". The 3rd time they tried "American Hamburgers" and were stunned I realized it had become an act.
@@homesqueeze1692 they are also definitely not "tribal"
I'm glad Raeen is going through the important movies he has missed. Such as:
- Dune 1 & 2
- Avatar 1 & 2
- Fight Club
- Saving Private Ryan
I hadn't been able to watch the original reaction with Babu and Badshah before it was taken down for copyright, but I'm so glad Raeen got to see it this time. It's funny Babu didn't seem to remember watching it already, but honestly they've watched so many movies in the last year, and this was one of the earliest reactions they shot, it doesn't bother me any.
The movie is so emotional, I haven't watched it in probably 20 years, but even during this reaction it reminded me of pieces of the story I had forgotten about and I still got teary eyed in a few scenes. I was kind of worried they might not have caught some of the important details, but Raeen was following the story very closely and picked up on everything. The mix of supernatural elements in this movie makes it really unique. I was happy they both picked up on how he was able to absorb the illnesses and release it through the flies. And I had totally forgotten about the reveal at the end that both Tom Hanks' character and the mouse lived so long after due to the influence of that healing power.
10/10 as always
Such a good film. i'm glad Raeen got to watch this film too, the other reaction to this film by Babu and Badshah was also great to see 🙂Would highly recommend watching this film reaction with Babu and Badsha, it is really good 🙂
Anyone remember the 90s movie Powder? I just remembered that one.
People in America sentenced to death often sit in prison for years or even decades while they appeal their sentences.
I have never seen Babu so angry.
Really enjoyed watching with you,😀,
I knew I had seen them do a react to this before! - I thought this was a reupload. I forgot the other one was with Badshah, not Raeen
Holy crap! Can’t wait till I get home to watch this!!!!!
21:02 damn that’s gotta sting lol
Such an incredible movie!
1. YOU WILL CRY😭😭😭😭
2. Dabbs Greer/old Paul was ill during production, so his part was done later. He also played Reverend Alden on "Little House on the Prairie".
3. Hammersmith was not a good lawyer. (most likely a racial thing. It was 1935 South.)
4. In the book King briefly covers why the Chief and Del are on death row.
5. This movie was nominated for Best Supporting Actor (MCD) and Best Cast but unfortunately neither won.☹☹
6. Players in other King adaptations: Jeffery DeMunn: Shawshank Redemption, The Mist,
Storm of the Century and William Sadler: Shawshank Redemption, The Mist. David Morse: The Langoliers. Patricia Clarkson played Margarat White in King's remake of Carrie". Needless to say, it was a much different part.
7. Movie magic Electricity makes the body contract. Del wouldn't be able to scream. I know it' just for the movie because of the length of the execution scene.
8. IRL James Cromwell is a vegan and didn't want to grill meat for the BBQ scene but
was told that in 1935 people actually ate meat so he agreed to have some on the grill.
9. RE Percy: Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. KARMA's a Bitch. BTW Kudos to Doug Hutchison for the great job of playing Percy. EVERYONE hates him.🤬
10. John also rescues the other patients at Briar Ridge.
11. IRL both David Morse and James Cromwell are about the same height as Michael Clark Duncan. They used planks, a small bed and smaller chair along with trick photography/angles to make John look taller.
12 The scene where John takes Mr. Jingles for safe keeping before Del's execution, they used a real mouse, and it pooped on Paul's shoulder, and he brushed it off.
13. Now we know what the "day old is fine" dry toast is for.
14 EVERYBODY cries and has to take time to reflect. Congratulations you just experienced.
the GREATEST MOVIE EVER. (GOAT)🤩
15. Four words for you: Stephen King. You're WELCOME!
Great reaction gentlemen to a great movie. ❤❤❤❤❤
I was hoping that Raeen would recognize Lt. Dan!! 🤣
He was also Ken Mattingly in Apollo 13!
Very good movie but hard to watch. It can make you very sad and quite angry.
I've noticed this before, but is it a mistranslation, or do they not make a distinction between mice and rats? Or mosquitos and flies, for that matter?
i was 13 when i first watched it in year 2000
been my favorite film ever since
Very nice that Raeen get's to see this film, too. Too bad, though, that Babu seems to mostly forgotten about it. Then again, there are a few glimpses in the react, in which he seemst to remember a thing or two...
Ohh cool! I remember searching for this film to see if these guys reacted to it.
I agree with Babu. Just because the story can't happen in real life it's still such an important story, like the heart and souls of characters in other stories that everyone wants to see them. It makes us better people and reminds us what's really valuable is learning to think and feel in our in our own lives.
John Coffey is always obeyed. He's just so soft spoken and patient it's easy to miss. He could have changed the outcome if he had wanted. But he was just too tired to go on living. There's no telling how old John was at that point. He had scars that looked as though he'd been beaten with a whip when he was a child. But when was that? In the US slavery was abolished in the 1860s. Was he born before that? He says he doesn't know much of anything, so he doesn't know. Just his touch made Paul and Mr Jingles live very long lives.
John coffey was based on a real life person who they called the happiest man on deathrow Joe Arridy, he had alot of learning difficulties and they speculate he was on the spectrum. He was framed by a sheriff when he was travelling through a neighbouring state by himself. Another man was found who was a prime suspect, he worked for the girls parents and as fired hours before the attack. Everyone was 100% sure that he had the wrong killer. The sheriff who arrested him refused to go back to trial and admit he was wrong. The guards loved him and gave him a toy train they said he was the happiest man alive and that he probably didnt even know he was gonna die he was just happy playing with his train.
When I think that Babu has already seen it while others like Ruby, Sarru, Raju, Amman could have taken the opportunity to see it, they would certainly have loved the film
I think they would enjoy a movie called “I Can Only Imagine”. It’s a very moving true story.
Another great reaction for a great movie. i hope that one day they will react to the film "das experiment" too
I'm waiting for Babu to release and album! no video is complete without rhythm and song from Babu 😊🙏🏿
YES!! Love Babu's songs!
If the mouse has lived for 64 years you have to wonder how long will the man live
Paul was 44 the year John Coffey (age unknown) walked the Green Mile (1935) which means he was born in 1891. So, in '99 Paul was 108 and Mr Jingles was 64 years old. A pet mouse in captivity has an average life expectancy of about 4-5 years... makes you wonder how long Paul will live, eh?! Several hundred years probably. And his penance is to lose everyone he loves, to outlive them all. John, on the other hand - I think he was thousands of years old... he was a very powerful empath who absorbed the pain of others his whole life, stated he was so tired and he welcomed the sweet release of death for that very reason.
I always wondered , will the wardens wife with the tumour also live longer .
Maybe not because just the healing ,like taking away the urinary problem didn't cause longer life .
Just when it's extra special , back to life for mouse or showing Paul vision
@@adrianhempfing2042 At the end, old Paul mentions that his beloved friends, Hal and Melinda, had both already passed away, so I think you're exactly right.
@@adrianhempfing2042 If I recall correctly, the book implies anyone John heals COULD live a very long time, because he's healing their whole body, not just that one big issue. But if something later goes wrong, they might not. I want to say she either had a stroke or a car accident much later, but I haven't read the book in so many years.

Babu is not trying to spoil it for raeen!
Babu saw this already
Have they seen Forrest Gump yet? Cause I saw two people with Tom Hank. Even Applo 13 too.
Terminal (2004) is also a great Tom Hanks movie and they now are familiar with airports so it's more fun for them.
@@Trazynn I totally forgot Terminal. I haven't seen that movie in a while.
Willssoonn . Cast away
Sometime would you make popcorn for them to eat while they watch movies? Give them the full effect.
Babu has trouble witnessing cruel and merciless prison systems, real or fictional. Surely the Green Mile was the perfect movie to lift his spirits.
Perhaps Babu will be awarded an Oscar for his reaction? ;)
Great movie, I'll watch this one before any Marvel spectacle.
If Raeen thinks a brain tumour is a "boil" you ought to remedy that right away! His empathy for the soon to be dead prisoners is admirable in light of the crimes they would have had to be found guilty of to be there.
Most of them are just messed up people who are victims of themselves. People who are complicated. Not that one guy who was shot though. He's just evil. And seems really gleeful about it. He's not complicated at all. He's just bad.
Often words , meanings are lost in translation .
Boil , tumour , ball shaped , lumps . All similar shapes
sadly the actor that played john coffee passed a way in real life he is star in many movies love your channel
People calling out babu for fake reactions....let me tell u guys im Indian i do understand hindi ...n i bet you guys ...babu definately must have forgotten he already watched that ...coz he isn't acting.
Its the fault of the Team ... probably babu must be like have i seen this or am i daydream 😂😂
