Also, sorry for spamming the comments But I think that bracket is for the power steering The tensioner you pulled was for that. And the lone pulley on the drivers side was the idoler for the ac best
I broke my cold start valve when removing the manifold As of now I’m running it with it capped off and only seems to bother it when it’s (guess what)... cold haha But it starts and runs Just likes to take a little longer to warm up Also, I would look at the ignition/main power My z has never liked to run when there’s any sort of lacking on the ignition side If you have ruled that out already, disregard lol
I’m trying to remember exactly what was going on But my car developed this same problem and I eventually figured it out But that car on the repairs train of memory must’ve de-railed like the other 80 of them 😂
Dude Im 4 yrs behind you, did you get it running right? I am not getting power at the injectors and was wondering if you knew where the fuel injector relay is? I have a 77 280z that will start with starter fluid sprayed in it but wont run. Gets fuel to injectors but not to engine. Any help is appreciated 😁
Yea it ended up being the wrong ecm, previous owner had one from a year newer and it was injecting at the wrong timing, I ended up swapping all injectors, fuel rail, oil pressure sensor, fuel pump and ecm before finding the culprit. 77 might be the early years of their efi so you may have to confirm by doing a pin count on the ecm, the alternative is going to the carbs but that's not cheap either
@@BlindmanOutdoors Hey bro' Thank you for responding 😁 For various reasons it sat for a few years and now I'm having trouble starting it. Had to buy a new fuel pump ($500) and thought that would take care of the problem. But nooooo, still no fuel 😭 I can get it to run for a second with starter fluid so I know it runs, just can't get gas into the cylinder. That's why I was looking for the fuel injector relay or fuse? Any help would be greatly appreciated 🙏 (Engine/rebuilt 5 spd has about 60k on it 🥳)
I wouldn't recommend it but you just find a 12v power source near the rear end that turns on in accessory or on and connect the negative and positive wire to that power source by splicing in. It's a quick fix in a bind but not ideal
I’m having the same issue, however I wanted to let you know that I enjoyed every min of your discussion… please continue on your journey of find out what you think is the cause of your vehicle not starting… if I find anything before you…. I would keep you in the loop… I ran gas through the the small hole on the air flow meter and it continue to run until the gas stop pouring in it. I think that a rely isn’t allowing the fuel to open up to the ejectors…. Please keep me in the loop
Datsun garage has all the parts bro! 300$ for all 6 injectors made for the 280zx
they didnt really exist yet back then lol and even less so in the earl 2000s Black Dragon used to tbe the spot in my day

The other bolt might be for an engine hoist bracket

It ended up being a combination of 2 bad injectors and the wrong EFI Brain for the model. Replaced the injectors and EFI Module and she came to life

How do I hardwire a battery to a fuel pump
