One DVD that I HAVE to get, thanks very much for posting this....he "is" a great bloke, even though he is no longer with us; his calling of a race was reason enough just to watch it! It was an honour to have you call Australia home Barry... a man very much loved & respected both on & off the track, & a top bloke!!!
just simply the greatist,my hero back in the day,one of his bikes was in my town for some event and just touching it was like the best thing ever, never forget you barry RIP
I was at Silverstone watching the truck racing in the mid 80s . As im walking behind the main grand stands sat on one of the un used tents where they sold stuff at the F1 GP . I saw this guy and i thought thats Barry Sheene . I went over and asked him what he was doing here and he comes out with . Im here to watch the bloody truck racing what else do you think im doing here . So i sat with Barry for an hour just talking and bullshiting all the time other people just walked by this great man
I remember my friend & I being little fat teenagers walking around the paddock at silverstone and chatting briefly with Stephanie about how much we loved Barry & how sweet she was with us bless her💞
His Legend of History in Mike Hellwood of a successor to British Riders for everyone his rispect of Barry Sheene's record in 1976 & 1977. I miss you so much!!
BARRY SHEENE, We remember him especially of his legendary races in Belgium at the end of the seventies. He regulary broke the round recods on the circuit of Francorchamps, Chimay, Mettet,... I try to find the DVD
I didn't know who Barry Sheene was at 17 but the older lads I rode with said I crashed like him. Later I learned how to stay on a bike and actually became a club racer and learned who he was. I grew up in the Foggy era and never followed GP's until Troy Bayliss & Colin Edwards moved to them.
Thanks for this great upload. As Barry would say, ''Don't wait for your ship to come in, swim out and great it!'' OMG weren't we all so happy in those halcyon days! I got pulled over recently for having ''French Se7ens'' on my number plates. ''They're a tribute to my hero Barry Sheene'' I said. ''Well don't go riding like him then - off you go'', said the police officer (after kicking tyres etc). ''Thanks cuntstable!'' I said. We miss you Baz - THANKS for ALL the MEMORIES Matey.
i was there in 79 in japan barry let me ride a monkey bike up and down why he did wheeles up and down the pitts i was 11 years old it was in mount fuji speed way.james hunt sprayed me all over with champagn. what a time i had.
@65NIXON keep your eyes on Scott Redding.I daresay he's the next Sheene. He certainly has the charm, even though he hasn't started racking up the big wins yet. He'll be a force to reckon with when he moves up to the big bikes.
I'm of that generation and much of your comments are uninformed. I loved Barry Sheene but todays riders are probably even more committed if perhaps restrained socially.
One of the GREATEST riders of all time. Able to win on works and privateer machinery. A genuine hero. If he were around today, Sheene, Kenny Roberts, and Freddie Spencer would lap dog-shit pretenders like Valentino Rossi (where is he now... last again?) 3 or 4 times in a race. That's how good his generation was. And we who are old enough, were lucky to live in such glorious times. Thank you Barry Sheene. My childhood hereo.
i watched barry at silverstone crashed my gt750 in weedon northampton had right arm pinned WENT ON TO COMPLETE 2 MILLION MILES ALL DEDICATED TO THE GREAT BAZZA FROM STEVETHE BREEZE MANCHESTER,S 2 MILLION MILE MOTORCYCLE DESPATCH RIDER
Barry Sheene and James Hunt. Frickin' legends of their sport on two and four wheels.

A super generous comment, thank you from an Englishman fan of Barry, a rider on the road myself in 1977 & still today, and a huge fan of France, too!
One of a kind. No rider on this era would even compete with him,2stroke bikes were no joke
