I’m actually getting a maltipoo on maybe dec 12 or on Christmas! We are actually getting it for free since my dad is friends with a breeder who breeds maltipoo s.
Picked up a Maltipoo last night. The last 24 hours have been very rough. I took a few days off, but I'm worried about leaving him home alone while I leave for work. I believe my neighbor is going to help me let him out while I'm gone. Even if I'm in the other room cleaning he goes nuts whining. I just hope it gets better.
Trust me it will. I have a Maltipoo and he’s one now and he whined like crazy too. If he wines then ignore him they will learn that whining doesn’t help. Also, keep him in a crate with lots of toys while you’re at work.
@@LilacTeaq I hope so. He has gotten a little better, but still whines if I shut the bathroom door on him. I took him to the vet yesterday for a checkup, and told her my concerns about him in a crate by the bed, and how I got little to no sleep the first two days. She said to put the crate downstairs and leave him in there all night. She said not to take him out even in the middle of the night. She also said to make sure I tire him out before putting him in the crate, and I'm doing some physical exercises, but I'm still trying to figure out simple mental ones. The crate downstairs seems to be the only way I can get any sleep. It's a no win situation, but the other choices leave me with no sleep, and him going nuts in the crate most of the night in my bedroom.
@@Seanscichlids for the first week you will get no sleep but after a while he will better. DO NOT let him sleep in your room it’ll be worse. Let him sleep downstairs or in a different room. Cuz if he sees you there then he thinks you’ll let him out. And if ur puppy has separation anxiety then don’t always give him attention. Also don’t let him follow you everywhere you go so he gets used to being alone.
@@LilacTeaq Yes working on the following part. I just installed a baby gate today in part of the house to put him there when I need to do things. I'll start using it tomorrow because right now he is by my feet almost every second. Yes same thing the vet said, and I could tell. He wanted out so badly that it sounded like he was going to destroy the crate. I ignore him as much as I can. It has cut down on the whining. How long did it take you to tire out your Maltipoo? I just played with mine for almost 20 minutes, but not sure he is tired or not. Hard to tell.
@@Seanscichlids I don’t usually tired him out before bed. Instead I do things during the day that tired him out such as long walks, training, and playing with other dogs. But sometimes I play with him for around 30 mins. I also use dog sleeping music. I used that every night before he went to sleep when he was still a puppy.
