There is a full footage of a first match of the base Relic game (no expansions) made by a German Guy; even if in certain spots he skips or misplay some rules (due to the fact that it is his 1st match done with this game... SO it is normal that some rule may be misunderstood or wrongly interpreted; as always happens when we play a newly bought bgame).
I've only tried Black Crusade once (with 2 players): it took away the level up race and became a no progression slog. I could see it being fun with more players bouncing around, trying to help. Lure of Chaos looks awesome for more than 2. The Last Reliquary may join the Master Collector as a go to 2p scenario.
Ben Foster I still have to beat the Crusade scenario... Abaddon is too powerful to beat if you are not an high level character and the scenario itself is a no progression slog as you correctly stated... And I tried to beat it always using the Terra exp's players shown into the video (because you need a "corruption depleter character" to face all the Corr Cards onto the Sol SYS - expecially if each card you draw is a Chaos Aligned enemy !!!). I surely find Lure of Chaos kinda "intriguing" (ah ah ah - I made the joke !!!) and the Master Collector and Last Reliquary very very fun (even if the last one sometimes ends up into a quite long game that resolves itself in few seconds when the 1st player with 5 or more Relics ends its move onto the Scenario Card... So... Someone may not like this some other may do like it... It s a matter of taste... I have to choice where to place myself though... Still played that scenario only once and had to close the game due to time matter: it lasted too long and too much and me and my friends were starting to be bored and frustrated and we had not so much time to waste in the vain aim to reach that particular place or gain / steal / purchase the needed Relics !!! I will give that scenario a new "try" however since as I just stated I find it very fun.
It´s sad that the plastic quality in this expansion is some how inferior compared to the base game and the first expansion. The plastic has a lighter shade of gray and seems softer, conversly the models have less detail :(
Thanks again for the review Joel I bought both this and Nemeses based on your reviews and the only complaint that I have is the production value. The Nemeses don't fit into the Stat clip and the board for Halls of Terra was warped. The game is brilliant however. The level of not just replay ability but % chance to actually hit freakin' table is greatly increased I feel. I'd like to get your opinion on a possible addition to Relic in the next expansion that may be great or may be a disaster, I don't know since I'm not a published game designer and I don't have your vast experience. So let me know if you have a chance to look at that idea and if so I'll post it here. Again, thanks!
You alright over there, boss? Burnt out after the top 100? (I only ask since its been a week+ since this dropped.) Someone was telling me about Assassinorium (sp?), and I thought the premise was so close to this, at least on a very superficial way where you're fighting to reach the middle chamber and deal with the big bad. I'd never really considered Relic before, but now am interested, looks like a cool expansion.

To me, it seems impossible. I tried it with 2 friends and we were far from seeing how it can be done. Too much corruption. Would like your tips and tricks if you were able to win it. Tough call. I'd lean Nemesis because it just adds more and better of what the base game does, and add in the kind Evil vs Good element to it. But, I do like Halls of Terra for it's co-op mode. Very unique.

I already love Relic and only Legendary and MageKnight hit the table more. I swear when I buy this (which I am now thanks Joel for a great review as always!) If "Imperial Fists Terminator" turns out to be where Rogal Dorn actually *has* been for thousands of years, that would be hilarious!
I find the Terminator Character too much feeble and underpowered; while it should be more strong and powerful than a normal Space Marine Character (in fact I find the normal Marine Character more easy to play and more powerful - expecially for the +2 to every single combat he enters into !!! Maybe the Terminator would have been better designed with a 8 Corruption Card Threshold like the Other Sororitas Character AND a +3 or +4 to evry kind of battle to represent its very name and war forged abilities as a "Terminator"; indeed).
Oh FFG... why do you hate tables so much? :p Looks like an expansion that really fleshes out the lore of WH 40k. I definitely like it more than the Nemesis exp.
Finally, SOMEONE talking about this expansion! I felt like I was the only person who bought this thing because NO ONE was talking about it online.

The black crusade scenario is "broken"... since it is IMPOSSIBLE to win against that scenario !!!
