Cherish the moments you had, man. I lost my mom a couple years ago and you never lose that feeling, but the feelings have softened and I've been able to reflect and reminisce without losing it now. How beautiful....just a month has passed since we buried mum.....oh my God we sadly only just skim the surface of how magical our loved ones are and the time spent with them is precious. Yeah it came out in like 1999 or 2000.
I had a basset hound named Elvis at the time and any time this song/video would come on he would come running From wherever he was and stand in front of the TV and bark his head off until it was over.

David Gray's music makes me feel so nostalgic. It reminds me of the bus rides into town with mum as a young kid, his music was on the radio a lot back then in the early 2000s. My town (Christchurch City, NZ) changed so much after the earthquakes and isn't the same anymore. So this music takes me back to a better time 💜

Hi Andy, I did similar ( not making a living, i am a doctor) and hope to again . Recently , somewhat unfortunately I have recalled the memory of going out with Dave Gray when I was 16, and it was lovely for a time, but i think I upset him. Now I have regained my music "ear" and hope to play Babylon again one day. Although I have incredible memories of Dave, its upsetting sad and unsettling as well. At least Babylon does not seem to be about me at all, so maybe I will play it.

Ronan, very much so. I was in the foyer of a bank ATM here in Philadelphia this past Saturday, making a sort of sad little deposit in a mood that the song speaks to so beautifully. Had never heard it before and yet in that setting - poor fidelity, steaming hot outside, a line queuing up behind me - the song completely arrested me. Gratitude for what I heard while standing there, but also that through a quick search later I was able to get to it so easily. With or without the accompanying video - which itself is quite wonderful - it's a beautiful song, a great tune, as you said.

This song takes be back to my time just out of university landing a job in Chicago and living in the Lincoln Park neighborhood. I listened to the album White Ladder, alot through the rest of the year. Great memories of me and other mates I went clubbing with too.

I had this stuck in my head tonight and posted on Facebook, in a desperate plea asking "Does anyone know that 90's song where the chorus says something like gooreahhah gooreahay? I tried googling it, and it just brought up results for Gonorrhea."
