Only the rideable horses have the hitbox assigned to their heads, a foresight that riders will look down and shoot their horse in the head. It then makes the noise as if it felt the arrow. the hitboxes in this game are not exact to the shape of the character models, they are actual prisms sometimes extending out of the bounds of the character's polygon shape. Check out ZFG, he shows in multiple videos, the real time action of these hitbox polygons.
For the floating merchant, it is also possible to reach with a rolling jump. For some reason, you jump further if you roll and jump. You get more distance. This applies to both OoT and MM.

It's funny how that's not one of the facts here, while it's clearly something many people didn't know, and perhaps the single most useful tidbit in this video. IIRC, you have to throw it a little to the side, because he shields it if you throw it straight at him.
I think the most impressive part of Ocarina of Time is the Magic Carpet being the only dynamic interactable surface in the game that deforms as Link walks across it.
in the main room, water in the middle, and shoot the eye switch mid flip and then climb up and roll under the gate before it closes? Do that and you have yourself a trick shot that will give access to that area without the long shot.
My suggestion is that you can use deku nuts to get poes to reappear when they go invisible. Works well in the forest temple when you’re fighting some of the Poe sisters.
You must be very talented to shoot arrows in mid-air while backfliping and knowing the exact time when to shoot and the exact location. I'm going to try that. Also the first time I fought dark link I beat him very easily without the deku nuts. I don't know why people have difficulty beating him. I don't blame myself for beating him easily. I've 100% a lot of Nintendo games. Such as the first 2 Luigis mansion. Mario kart wii with 3 stars on every cup (that ain't easy). And a bunch of other games that aren't easy to 100 %. So I'm pretty sure I can learn to shoot arrows in mid-air and finish the game with 100 %.
Big fan of this series! As all of us watching I also know a lot about Zelda OoT but your videos finally show you things you actually don't know! Just wanted to ask if the different angles you show for certain scenes inside the game are made with the Z glitch. They give it such a nice touch to the video. And shout-out to the editor, you are talented!
4:30 This right here... When I first encountered Dark Link, I was having one hell of a time taking him out. Imaginative kid I was at the time, I figured both Links had a linked (heh) life or something along those lines since I'm fighting a mirror version of him. I figured killing my Link with bombs or something would defeat the boss somehow and I'd be rendered the victor via plot. Nope.
@@thanesmashmontages412 Yeah, normally I would have had the Biggeron Sword by the time I play the water temple but this past play through I did things out of order. I played the Forrest Temple and then went directly to doing the Water Temple. Then from the water I did the Spirit Temple. It feels wrong doing them out of order but I wanted to mix it up.
That last one with the arrow piercing effect, in MQ Forest Temple, if you shoot through the multiple Big Skulltulas, you can actually hit just the first and third ones, missing the second one entirely. So I guess you could say there's a distance limit between hitboxes before it can do any damage again.

Huh...that one about an arrow being fired near Epona/the Gerudo Horse's head is pretty interesting. At first I thought maybe they probably just coded it so the sound effect would play for all the horses when an arrow is fired near the head but clearly they didn't otherwise the Lon Lon Ranch Horses would have made the noise. I hope you do a Majora’s Mask video soon. One thing I found from playing the shit out of that game is if you go into the final boss battle against Majora’s Mask, and get him to change into Majora’s Wrath, then damage him just enough to where he starts using the grab and throw attack with the tentacle arm… if you change into Deku Link, because he’s so much lighter than the others, if you align yourself just right, Majora will actually throw you over his shoulder and into the raised circular alcove that his mask is sitting in at the the very beginning of the encounter. It was fun to snipe him from up there while being nearly untouchable. EDIT: This isn’t doable in the 3DS remake
#7 I knew from Majora's Mask because that was how 10 year old me blew up the fake wall in the last room of the Link Moon Dungeon. Yep, 10 year old me thought of _that_ instead of just holding the Bombchu for a few seconds before letting it go.
Omg I feel so dumb and smart at the same time.. my dumbass somehow came to the conclusion that the intended way to blow up the ceiling was to make a bombchu crawl the entire length of the floor to give you enough time to place a second one on the opposite direction so they could both meet up and explode the ceiling. But nah for all these years the simple "hold the bomb longer to delay the explosion timing" never crossed my mind either!
Another cool thing: when a poe sister disappears use a deku nut to re-appear them but this won't work on the last poe sister(mini boss of the forest temple) and other poe's from hyrule field and the kakariko cemetary
Also they disappear more frequently when they are targeted. The sisters in particular, after charging you with their torch, will disappear the moment you shield them if you target them, but not if you don't.

I think the most impressive part of Ocarina of Time is the Magic Carpet being the only dynamic interactable surface in the game that deforms as Link walks across it.
I think the water in amorpha's fight has the real time displacement.
Originally, the developers wanted the sand surface to retain Link's footprints but couldn't due to hardware limitations.

I appreciate that you never actually hit Epona directly with an arrow =]
If you jump into deep water with your sword and shield out while holding R, Link will swim with the shield still equipped.
And, if you also keep Z held down, you can block while swimming.
One weird thing about the 3d version is that link will put away any c item when you L target and shield
