Dragon Tortoises actually do exist in 5-E, they can be found in the Candlekeep Mysteries book. Also from what I understand about One DnD is that it is basically 5.5 because the authors themselves say that the new stuff being added isn't supposed to replace anything but are more just there as extra options and or potential replacements.
Best use of a dragon turtle is as a gatekeeper. Dt gonna keep blockading shipping and hence prevent party from moving on to next area until _____ happens. This is especially productive if the campaign starts on an island or a port on a frontier area. I always felt that a party capable of killing a dragon turtle probably wouldn't bother, as a dragon turtle should have a motivation, profit or revenge, that can be satisfied instead, making for a far better role-playing experience than blaargh go kill sea monster for video game boss experience.

We bought our Polish version of every handbook and all of them are metric system.
Chult is in southern Faerun; Maztica is another continent; but Chult is south of Amn etc. Dragon turtle was in the SSI game Dark Queen of Krynn
