I've only just discovered your channel - watched this one and the previous one, at the lake - and you've given me hope. All of those trees and hardly any birds. I thought they were avoiding me, but it's you as well. I live in Thailand. It's the rainy season at present and the light is mostly crap. Yesterday, I drove down to the local reservoir. There is a 2km road around the outside, and a 1km track around an island in the middle (with a bridge for access). At different times of the year you can see kingfishers (resident), cormorants, egrets, herons and other birds that feed on the fish in the reservoir. What did I see at the reservoir yesterday? There is a sports stadium on the island in the middle and it's the annual school's sports meet. Hundreds of noisy children and food stalls galore. This generally goes on for a week so I hope that it is over and done with next week. If I was a bird, I certainly wouldn't want to hang around with that lot going on. Even the squirrels in the trees were hiding. However, I did manage to get some shots (from afar) of a White-throated Kingfisher and a Great Egret. Not fantastic shots, but it got me out and about. I am going to subscribe to your channel now. Why? I like your approach. I like your ethos (what I've seen / heard of it). I'm not a bird photographer, I just turn to it when I can't think of a lot else to do, and I fancy a walk around. I'd much rather be in a studio shooting models, in the Himalyas shooting mountains, in an Indian bazzar getting some shots of the people, and soaking up the atmosphere, but those times are far and few in between. Keep up the good work.
I'm a beginner wildlife photographer from the states. I love seeing the British countryside and birds, and I like your genuine down to earth approach to photography and life. Keep doing what you're doing. I love the channel the way it is.
Here as I love nature photography, enjoy seeing anything you see, as dont get to as many different places as I would like (no transport/dodgy knee...). Just carry on as you are..one of the things about your videos are that its real..not always wonderfully successful..not always getting the flashy shots..but enjoying being out & learning as you go..sure thats how it is for most of us.😊
I love birdwatching and photography too. So like picking up tips on both. Always interesting to know what settings you've used for different situations. This time of year I start on butterflies and damselflies until migrants return in autumn because of foliage and general lack of birds. Good luck going forward👍
Like yourself I classed myself as a landscape photographer but this year have found myself out taking photos of wildlife instead. Makes it a lot harder looking at new lenses to purchase. Personally I like the down to earth rambling through the woods. Always nice to pick up any tips and hints along the way but you have a fun channel 😊
Because I love seeing what you capture. Support you with likes sub and encouraging words. The scenery. The way you edit and put together your content. That's why I'm here.
Hi Mike, Just discovered your channel today by chance. I go for a walk around Southey almost every day as I live a short walk away. If you ever fancy a meet up I can show you roughly where there are a few Red Kite nests and their favourite hunting spots. I’ve also seen the Peregrine Falcon there a couple of times in the last few months but I’ve failed to grab a snap! All the best, Lewis
Ahhh great video mate! To be honest mate, I originally started watching you as I was looking for people doing the same thing as me when I was starting out. It was a good way to network and as we all know its great building up communities and such. And in the long run I'm still here haha. I just thoroughly enjoy watching your videos mate, cracking stuff as always :)
Yeah, you've been here a while now, and you always comment on my vids which is awesome. I always look forward to your vids dropping as well mate. I still think we should do one together for sure.... the kind where we meet at the start, go different directions and meet up at the end.
I’m here because on days that I can’t go out and photograph wildlife myself, then I like to get my fix by living vicariously through other photographers 😄. I need to nature for my sanity
Just caught up with this video. I follow because we seem to be travelling the same photography path. Macro, beginner wildlife and landscape, often in similar locations. Also I find your presenting style very good and you are not sponsored or selling anything.
It is as good as it is just continue like this. Just wandering around, do a nice talk and when the occasion occurs take a picture. For glam videos of making the best photos or camera/lens reviews I go to others like Jan Wegener f.e . They get free stuff sent and are sponsored, something I do not like at all but they give good info. I think you should not go that way because, let’s face it, it would take ages to reach their level and subscribers numbers. Be yourself and I like your way of doing it, find your own signature.. that’s what counts!😀👍
As a beginner in Bird photography, I watch videos to pick up any tips and advice. see what camera equipment other guys use and compare my pictures to others. also give me the inspiration to go out and try to improve,
