- After a long journey, I’ve finally arrived on Tioman Island! 🌴 In today’s video, I give you a tour of my budget room, then head out to explore the local beach and soak in those island vibes. I even rented a push bike to explore more of what this beautiful island has to offer. Come along for the ride as I cycle along the coast, show you hidden spots, and share a first look at Tioman Island’s quieter side.
Whether you’re a budget traveler or just curious about life on this island, there’s plenty to see in this first taste of Tioman Island

Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it.
I was lucky enough to visit that lovely island about 30 years ago. Still looks amazing!
Really awesome how they patched you up after your tumble!
I love it here! It’s not the biggest tourist island and I think it’s perfect the way is!
Malaysian Baywatch was on the case, within seconds!
Such a beautiful island this, looks very relazing and would love to treck through that jungle. Ouch, yes one handed bike riding does has it's hazards 🚲🚲🚲
One handed bike riding is very difficult lol. Can cause injuries :/
Hi Stu. Definitely a island I'll be add9ng on my bucket list. Enjoy, and I can't wait to see what else the island has to offer. Safe travels.
It’s definitely a beautiful island and I would probably recommend coming in non monsoon season lol
Hope you enjoy your island exploration
Loving it so far :)
Wow I was there in 1998.😊
I bet it’s never changed in that time!
I hope you have a great time. If you can walk ( or ride) around to ABC though I would, it’s much more natural, no cars, just bikes. Beach, Hut, Jungle it’s just on around the coast from where you were where that Big bird statue was. Also, the area you started from they have massive Bats. Tioman is absolutely the best place I have visited in the world, it’s magical.
I’m going to be getting a scooter out today and seeing the sights 😀
@olderbackpacker Have a great time
That's a beautiful beach.. Let's hope no instagram influencer overly promoting it that might ruin the chilled atmosphere there
I hope so too, it’s too nice to be over run by them!
Looks like a really nice place , show me more 👍
Sure 👍
Looks likw you will have a great few days Stu. You have picked up a lot of viewers.
Perfect place to chill! I’ve picked up more than I thought I would! Not too sure why? But I’m happy lol
Tioman is where the Hollywood movie "south pacific' was shot long ago. They used a fake island name Bali Hai
Iodine is a must in tropical climates me old buddy smallest wounds can ulcerate or get infected super quick
I’m keeping an eye on my wound. It looks like it’s healing 🙂
@@olderbackpacker sure you are lovin the vids mate
Can't wait to see you drink a few cans of duty free beer...& Chocolates too.
I being a good boy!!! Lol
Gee, you hurt yourself. I've been following your hikes as you like to go off the beaten tracks and I admire your guts. Places like Tioman I've never been to. Stay safe. @Eric(greeteast)
Thank you so much Eric, I wouldn’t say it’s guts but a sense of adventure :) Hope you’re well?
Tioman is less affected by monsoon. It is more severe up north. States like kelantan, terengganu and pahang.
Our paradise islands will not change much don't worry. Only west coast islands are developed since long ago eg pangkor, penang, langkawi. Most of our islands are full of jungles. Marine life is abundants. Bio diversity preserved for future generations.
Good to know that there’s less chance of a monsoon hitting me 😀 Marine life around Tioman is amazing. I saw a group of dolphins last night :)
@olderbackpacker my advice. From tioman just go to West coast eg melaka upwards. Because starting Tuesday pahang, kelantan, terenngganu will be hit by monsoon rain.
Does everyone know your name at Cheers?
Even Norm!
Yikes, look at him.
Thanks 😂😂
