Hey Jack, really enjoying your China series. I'm a fellow Chinese Australian here, and just wanted to let you know that most tourists mistake the mere mall cops or private security guards in China with actual police. Those guys are pretty much there to help people with directions etc. and have no real authority.
@@zackk7175 It is a fact that the Chinese economy is slowing down, but using "fewer people on the streets" as evidence makes it seem lacking in thoughtful consideration.
9:49 If you don’t understand Chinese culture, these are the descendants of the Loong. Legend has it that the Loong has 9 sons with different names, preferences and personalities.
20:44 Dude,They are not police officers, they are just mall security guards responsible for the surrounding environment of the mall. They only assist cleaners in cleaning up garbage in a timely manner and those who help with parking. They are considered semi public welfare positions and are generally handled by elderly people who do not live a very affluent life.
A lot of the security guards you see are just hired by the private businesses, like shopping malls, pedestrian streets, or outdoor parking. etc. Somehow they’re often just directly equated by the foreigners to be “more police presence”. Private businesses wanted to keep their business place safe and protect their own property. Those guards don’t have much authoritative power. If you try to do bad things on their business property, they would stop you and if you don’t obey they would still need to call the real police to handle you. It’s really similar to security guards you see in shopping malls or fancy buildings or something in the west.
True, people see what they want to see (based on their own biases). Those guys can be found all over the world in every single country, are the infamous MALL COPS, haha!
Many people was fascinated by China. The food, culture, scenery , transportation, and people that really impressive. That's why China is always one of the top listed recommended country worth to travel to.
@20:11, it would indeed be interesting to see rural China. It would be cool if your trip includes....shall we say it? Xinjiang! I'm sure that visit would drive the western medias bonker.
Sophia said 30 years ago, China not looked like that now. In year 1992, in Shanghai still saw a lot of cyclists, poor still wore Mao clothings. In year 2002, trading jumped up after entry to WTO. In year 2012, after 2008 Olympic Games, high speed trains took place and followed by bullet trains.
This shows that the Chinese government is doing a good job. However, the Western mainstream media insists on demonizing the Chinese government, but the Chinese people are very satisfied with their government.
You are a wonderful couple and belie everyone who has prejudices against women who want to be happy with a man from a different culture. Thank you for the positive reports and lots of joy and happiness.

Did they put a grey filter on this video ? The lighting is really rare. Chung Qin is famous for it's modern infra structures such as bridges, night views and Grand Cannon like natural phenomena. It's so strange that I didn't see any of those in this "travelling" video.
China has been cash free for many years now both in rural and large Metropolitans. And infrastructures are standardised in China too but yes you would hardly find young people there in the rural areas and in small cities.
Those trash bins have separate sections for different kinds of waste but nobody ever uses the proper bin. In the end, they all get sifted through to sort out the recycling.

Industrialization requires a large workforce, and urbanization facilitates the transformation of numerous farmers into industrial workers. Urban settings offer easier access to infrastructure, logistics, and centralized healthcare and education services. For farmers aiming for prosperity, large-scale farming is the viable path since profits from grain are minimal and high grain prices can adversely impact the living standards of others. Therefore, reducing the number of farmers is essential. A smaller number of farmers can employ mechanization to cultivate large areas profitably, while the others can transition to factory jobs, earning wealth through industrial work.
