Definitely helpful. True, we may become noseblind but I think that another thing that happens is that sometimes because we don't get a compliment, we think that people can't smell the perfume. The problem might not be with your perfume, some people will never compliment you on your scent! Thanks for the tips. We love to smell great all day!
This is so true! I get this all the time because I've gone noseblind to my signature scent but people stop and tell me how good I smell and I found out that some individuals who never gave me a compliment told me in conversation about fragrances that I always smell good.
Help the peoples out Auntie Rida!! Washing your body is the life hack/cheat code for fragrance longevity that some folks always seem to avoid lol. Great video! Thanks for sharing 😊
Yes, because please don’t come here with a review on some perfume you tested on third day dirty skin!!! 😂 And you KNOW these people are out there 🤦🏾♀️.
Sherida you are so right about Amouage Guidance. I did 2 sprays on top of my left hand to test it, went to work , I did a 12 hour shift, washed my hands several times, I'm a nurse so I'm constantly washing my hands. The compliments just kept coming then the shocker was after my very long shift I went through the driver through at chick filled and the lady at the window said OMG you smell soooo good. I was SCHOCKED! What!!! I mean its just a stunning perfume and you have a scent bubble that follows your for hours and hours.
Yes! When I first started wearing perfumes, I was one who’d say “my skin eats perfumes. It never last on my skin!” Watching these kinds of videos taught me how to moisturize. Living in a hot, humid state like Hawaii, we’ve never use lotions & especially oils - too sticky, greasy, gross. I’ve always unintentionally exfoliated my skin with those Japanese long, pink exfoliating scrubbers. Applying oil on my skin prior to my body care, literally makes my perfumes last stupid long. Great performance!
YES! Literally the same reason why Extraits last so long on skin… higher oil. So why not add some oil to your skin to make an optimal base?! It definitely works.
Such a great video idea!!! This will be so helpful for many. I’ve learned the hard way 🤦♀️. And oh my gosh looking like a million bucks as usual. I want to raid your wardrobe!😂
Amen about over exfoliating. I see so many people on this very platform encouraging people to double and triple wash and exfoliate on a daily basis. Not only are our experiences with fragrances subjective, but so is our definition of "beastmode" and "long-lasting". Some fragrances simply don't last long, regardless of how they are applied. Also, reformulations affect how each person experiences a fragrance. I have an old bottle of "Musc Ravageur", whose projection and longevity are out of this world. My friend has a recent bottle, and it doesn't last as long, simply because it's not the same composition.
Sharida I went back and have Ben binge watching your videos. I’ve ordered the MSM that you e recommended right? How do u take it? It’s so bitter. The vitamins I love. I have locs and I’m trying to get that length. Let me me know. I hope u see this
thank you auntie sharida i been following your tips as an experiment for the past 3 weeks and it really works. i avoid my triangle like the black plague now!!!! i can smell my perfumes even my zara ones and viva la juicy gold for hours after!!!
Excellent tips! I avoid that triangle area too; I’m using anti-aging products on my décolleté and alcohol-based perfumes can create irritation. Agree that a decent quality body moisturizer is important too. Another great reason to wash each day: a new blank slate to try a completely different frag. Gotta rotate those bottles 👍🏻
My arms are covered up in a uniform. I used to be a behind the ears & wrist girl. Since watching this video, I apply a dab of lotion on the backs of my hands, then spray my hands. Talk about a long lasting game changer! This would be good for our Muslim sisters (I live in the Gulf) who dress modestly for their faith. No more triangle for me. ❤❤❤
I sprayed Guidance ONE TIME….ONCE…..on a shirt working from home one day. I switched shirts so fast bc that thing was assaulting my nose. Nuclear ain’t even the WORD. I’d have to put this on the night BEFORE if I even THOUGHT I wanted to wear it in the office. Nope. I’m not even gonna do that to them🤣🤣 I’d never need a full bottle bc I could never finish it. It’s like those damn vitamins lol One a Day. Love your channel and patiently awaiting YOUR fragrance reveal❤️🫶🏾💪🏾🥰
The video that some of you all didn’t know you needed lol. I also don’t spray my clavicle area, but that’s because my skin in that area is so sensitive, so I avoid it. I didn’t know that I was actually doing something right!! 😂😂. Whole time I thought I was missing out on really getting to smell the fragrance. Thanks for letting us know beautiful ❤
Yes you are doing right by avoiding that area lol!! Probably why you not in the comments every weekend complaining about the performance of everything 😂! 💞
After taking your advice I’d say I smelled my fragrance much longer. I used to spray it too close to my face and I’d stop smelling it so fast. I’m glad you brought this out.
I will absolutely try to spray my fragrances on my arms, behind the knees etc. Great tip - thank you! Now, I would love to know how many sprays you use too. Could you please make a video about the number of sprays you use, on the different fragrances? Beast mode fragrances, average performing fragrances and underperforming fragrances... I would love to know! Sending love from Norway❤
Thank you so much! I love the advice of not spraying in the triangle. I will also exfoliate a bit more. Keep rocking it sis, you’re so beautiful! Proud to see you doing your thing in this space. Good luck and be blessed! ❤
Not putting fragrances on dry skin was the best tip I learned a couple years ago. I spray everywhere and I still smell my fragrances 😆. Love the video, and love your look.
Man it’s sooo many people not drinking their water and moisturizing their skin…and then spraying twice, wondering why their fragrances don’t last. 🤦🏾♀️
Yes! I actually learned this decades ago with trying to grown my hair long. The moisturizing and sealing hydration in with oil was a huge factor in maintaining healthy long hair. Its should not be done in the reverse.
Your content is always top tier! I do all of the steps you’ve mentioned EXCEPT for the triangle. I never thought it about it the way you explained it, and it makes so much sense.
Any hot pulse points will do on your body. But if you find "you can't smell your perfumes" and everyone else around you does, avoiding the nose area will help so much.
I always spray on the back of my neck so that my scent trail….trails lol. That way it’s on exposed skin AND it’s not in my nostril path lol. I KNOW you know about that reaction when you walk through automatic doors in front of someone and they get that whiff from being downwind. Gotta love it 🥰🥰🥰🥰 why thank you, yes I’m wearing Valaya thank you for noticing lol.
Okay Sharida. I’ve been wearing perfume for a long time and watched a lot of videos and this is the best video I’ve seen on how to smell good! I’m definitely going to take notes and Yum is going to be my SOTN💜
NUCLEAR!!! I mean I sprayed Guidance OUTSIDE into a decant. Came back outside hour later and the BACKYARD smelled like Guidance in the air!!! Insane performance.
It makes a massive difference! Girl why am I googling antecubital 😂?!! What do you do for a living because that word is not common knowledge. Thank you so much for sharing 😆💞
Love this! So this morning I took your advice and didn’t spray in the areas I normally spray, neckline area etc. I don’t usually have a problem with my fragrances. But I still smell my fragrance and it’s not all in my face. Wearing Tiziana’s Haley!
Thank you so much for the info. You look so beautiful, btw..Also, gorgeous blouse.. Lastly, yes to the perfume therapy, same. Love getting whiffs of my fragrance throughout the day, especially on a windy day??? Love that.
Before we get into what the moisture or spray routine is like, the 1st question I’m gonna ask is where did you get your bottle of Oud Bouquet from cause ain’t no way there’s performance issues with that scent unless it’s not authentic. That baby is nuclear😮😂🤣
Right! 😂 NO WAY they can think this about real Oud Bouquet! Unless they went ham under their nose and gone anosmic, there is no other explanation for why its “not lasting”.
I sprayed Oud Bouquet once on my wrist the other night after my shower because I miss the scent. I sprayed another fragrance on the the wrist because I was trying it out. When I woke up the next morning, the other fragrance was gone. Oud Bouquet was ready for the day! Still going strong. Thanks for sharing.
😂 said don’t worry we are going to get you together today! I agree perfume therapy is so real and I have to say avoiding what I will now refer to as the “anosmic triangle” is a major tip I will be sharing! Though I’m still gonna throw a few sprays at the back of the neck…that never hurt nobody 😅❤ another great video Sharida 💕
Some good advice! I do occasionally spray in the triangle even though Perfume nest (Chris) had mentioned it’s not good for your skin there with sunscreen etc. I gotta change that and work on more moisturizing (not a huge lotion and definitely not oil wearer).
I forgot to say I also don’t like spraying in “the upper triangle” because I always have sunscreen / CC cream on my neck and décolleté and I don’t want them mixing. ❤
Thank YOUUU!11 oil is not a moisturizer! And I don’t know how needs to hear this but BBW lotions don’t properly moisturize your skin, they just smell good. Look at the ingredient list. Yw
If you don’t mind, I’d love to share my experience with Bath and Body Works body cream & lotions. Living in hot, humid Hawaii, moisturizing is rare. I started having psoriasis at age 16 & topical ointment & medicine never helped but made me lose a lot of my hair. A few years ago, I moved to the mainland & I started wearing B&BW Body Cream & sprays…even though I had psoriasis. I wanted to use the fall/winter fragrances that i never could in hot, humid Hawaii. So, I did. Believe it or not, maybe bc I’ve never moisturized before, but B&BW body cream absolutely helped calm down my psoriasis & eczema. Today, I have almost no patches on my body. Before, 70% of my body was covered with psoriasis. Painful. Itchy. Depressing. Years ago - late 30s, is when I learned and started to exfoliate, oil down my body, & moisturize by topping it with b&bw body cream or Treehut body butters. I always end it with my fragrance.
Hiii Auntie Ridaaa thanks so much for video 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼💪🏽💪🏽. Do you mind sharing how you get the ends of your Sisterlocks in curls I love it. I am 10 yrs sisterlocked. Thank youuuu ❤
Just sheer luck of the draw. My ends just naturally stayed curled. I don’t do anything to achieve the look. I did start with 17 inches of hair and I feel like all the hair that was not interlocked (the special Sisterlock method they do at installation) kept my natural curl pattern.
Oh yes, Guidance lasts for 30 days😲😲. Oud Bouquet not lasting, that’s worrisome cos I only do 2 sprays and I’m done🤩🤩. I always go to town with sprays on my arms especially now that we’re in spring😍😍. I agree with all your tips👌👌. Stay gorgeous 🥰🥰
I could be some people are nose blind. Its true you may not smell your own perfume after awhile, but you have become acquainted with it and become nose blind. But trust if you spray a heavy perfume on you, others can smell it. I always wear my perfume in my décolleté area. I watched my mom do it. My moms natural smell is vanilla. It oozes out of her even when she has nothing on. I am led to believe that it's from all the years of saturating her neck in vanilla perfume, lol. The neck and throat are also pulse points, although the chest isn't, for me that's where the perfumes stays and radiates from.
Fragrances are aromatherapy indeed! I spray on my hands as well, especially before a big online meeting if I work from home. I can go crazy with my CEO vibes fragrances 😅
I have to spray in the triangle, between cleavage and abdomen under my scrubs. I don’t wanna offend my patients. I’ve never had any issues with going anosmic. Now strong scents I do keep away from my face.
People must be trolling girl lol tell them girl tell them. but Sharida some people like me have very dry and sensitive skin but I also wear Amouage Guidance and it lasts 12+ hours good advice on where to spray
Yes…oil is not moisture. It’s a sealant. It can lock moisture down into place but moisture/hydration is something that included water ( lotions, cream, serums), which oil does not have.
I knew most of these tips but I never thought about avoiding spraying the neck/chest area! I will have to give that a try. Side note- do you know where to find a sample of BDK Vanille leather? I don’t even see it for sale on a lot of the perfume sites
BDK direct has the travel sizes. But other than that I have not seem small sample sizes. It’s a Harrods exclusive at the moment which is why you can only buy thru Harrods and BDK for now.
Yes. I always ask others if they can smell my fragrance on me when I am trying to gather info on performance. You think its a skin scent 8 hrs and someone compliments you from 6 feet away… the fragrance is still THERE and PROJECTING.
I appreciate this video and all your videos, especially for educating us men on how to properly get it done. Question, as far as my scent trail, would you say spraying the back of my shirt would be overkill if I already sprayed the back of my neck? I’ll use FM "Musc Ravageur" as the example for this scenario. Thanks again Rida. 🙏🏽
Marhaba. After watching this video, I sprayed the back of one and with my Al Quarashi Blend Noir. (I usually do behind ears/neck and inner wrists) to see what happens to me. I bought guidance in Oman 4 months ago. I'm going to see how the hands fair.
Well if you put pistachio body cream, pistachio oil and then pistachio perfume of course it will smell, but when I buy a 200 dollars perfume (not the case with pistachio of course) I don't expect to buy the body cream and the oil to make it last. I do agree that moisturising is important. I prefer to use scent free moisturisers to let my perfume shine because some are really expensive and for those my expectation is to have a great projection and silage without the need to layer it with scented moisturising and oil. Also now with winter, you are all covered with clothes so I suppose you don't put the perfume on your arms....or?
You don’t have to layer these are just suggestions. I am in GA and wear short sleeve uniform all year. And yes I always spray my clothes. All perfumes last longer on fabric.
Sharida is always slaying
Alwaysssss!! Our girl always looks so good 😍

And spraying the triangle (skin) is such a delicate area that is prone to aging. We shouldn’t be loading up with alcohol on a regular basis anyway.
Yes those fragrances performance is 🔥🔥🔥
And some say its 30 minutes… Oud Bouquet?! HOW SWAY 😆
Yes over exfoliating is a real thing
Absolutely I cringe when people say they do major exfoliation daily or every other day!
Thanks for sharing the tips

Great tips! I will try that but I don’t have problem with fragrances lasting. But I do spray the triangle so I will try your suggestion’ thank you
Fragrances are definitely scent therapy for me as well. Fantastic video 💜
Great tips! I've switched from decolletage to back of the neck. Doesn't overwhelm me and leaves a trail.
What's the oil spray you put on?
It’s in description box, the Pitache Body Mist. Though its a mist is VERY oily and fragrant. Not the consistency of a regular body spray.

You are so right about applying lotion before a body oil. It makes such a difference. Tfs.

Love the guidance - going to try not spraying in the triangle, as you suggested! Also - absolutely LOVE your blouse. Gorgeous as always!

Hi Auntie Rida! 🥰 There is absolutely NO WAY Oud Bouquet doesn't last on folks. I am in total disbelief. 🤔🤔🤔
YES… just dumbfounded by people’s experiences lol. I known performance is super subjective but damn… 😂

Fragrances are aromatherapy indeed! I spray on my hands as well, especially before a big online meeting if I work from home. I can go crazy with my CEO vibes fragrances 😅
I was watching just to watch and support but im going to try these.
Please do! It will definitely make a difference. Thank you for supporting doll ☺️💞
I have to spray in the triangle, between cleavage and abdomen under my scrubs. I don’t wanna offend my patients. I’ve never had any issues with going anosmic. Now strong scents I do keep away from my face.
Hey girl! When will we get the details on your collab with Navitus? 😊
Details coming this weekend! Notes video will drop next weekend 😆
@@SharidaM (puts some money aside for good sis Sharida)🥰🥰
Thanks so much for making this video ❤
You are so welcome! 💞
What about spraying behind your neck across the top of your back?
I always spray the back of my shirt and the back of neck should be fine as not to overwhelm your nose.
Darling, thank you so much for these tips !!
You’re welcome doll 😘!!
People must be trolling girl lol tell them girl tell them. but Sharida some people like me have very dry and sensitive skin but I also wear Amouage Guidance and it lasts 12+ hours good advice on where to spray
Thank you so much for this information, I usually spray where you said we are to avoid 😊
Try it and let me know how it goes! It makes a huge difference IMO.
What !! Thank you for the tip of the lotion before oil because girl I have been doing it wrong!!! 🤗
Same!
Yes…oil is not moisture. It’s a sealant. It can lock moisture down into place but moisture/hydration is something that included water ( lotions, cream, serums), which oil does not have.
@@SharidaM thank you!! 🤗🥰🥰
Great tips, thanks! ❤
You are so welcome!
H2O hydrate both inside and out!!!
Hey Sharida 🙋🏾♀️
I think the “Guidance lasts 30 minutes” was meant to say “Guidance projects in a 30 mile radius if you overspray.”
Right 😂 ROOM filling. Even with a 2ml sample people are saying its filling the room when they wear it to test!
I also don't understand how, why people who wear costume jewelry spray perfume on their necks.
She said what she said! So lying on these folks hard worked fragrances😂
I believe we DO go nose blind. Bc people around me do still smell me bc the compliments just keep coming hours later ....
Yes. I always ask others if they can smell my fragrance on me when I am trying to gather info on performance. You think its a skin scent 8 hrs and someone compliments you from 6 feet away… the fragrance is still THERE and PROJECTING.
Since you’re avoiding the triangle when you spray your body, where to you spray on your clothing?
Lower torso area down to pants, and back of all clothing.
I always spray the back of my shirt. So go to town lol! Definitely not overkill.
I also wonder if people are going anosmic to the scent while everybody else can smell it 🤷🏾♀️
Yes, that’s exactly what’s happening. If you smell nothing on you and everyone else can smell it, you have become nose blind to it.
Delina lasts at least 8 hours!
On a bad and undersrayed day 8 hrs lol. I mean I can smell Delina strongly projecting after 15 hrs!
The dupes lasts more than 2 hours for sure!
What's a universal oil that you can use with multiple fragrances?
Good question. Hope you get a response.
Sis I need help. I'm a hijabi so I have no exposed skin, only my face and my hand. Where should I spray my perfume? :(
Marhaba. After watching this video, I sprayed the back of one and with my Al Quarashi Blend Noir. (I usually do behind ears/neck and inner wrists) to see what happens to me. I bought guidance in Oman 4 months ago. I'm going to see how the hands fair.
All over clothes also pulse points of skin
And don’t rub your wrist when u spray it either .
Yes that’s a no no. May not affect the longevity, but can affect the smell.
@SharidaM Thank you for your reply. So, just moisturizer and apply on the clothes as well.
Guidances is a 30 hour wear… 😂 If you aren’t telling the truth!
Yeah because 30mins?!?! Chile where… HOW?!?! I need answers lol.
Lotion then oil??? I'll try
YES! Please. It’s important to know. Oil seals in and locks the moisture of the hydrating products down. It’s not hydrating itself.
