Finally this show got some love
I worked as a line cook in a bar for a few years. Those shifts got boring after awhile. I used to throw 1 earbud in and listen to this movie to help get through the rush. Every. Night. I have the entire script memorized now... I'm not a movie person, at all, but I always find myself coming back to this one.
Even with the dated animation technology, it still looks great to me. The colors pop. Everyone's distinct. And the premise is a thing of beauty.
'Twas the best time to grow up a Hot Wheels fan.
World Race will FOREVER be one of my all time favorite movies.

Definitely the most rewatchable of the 3 Hot Wheels productions, love Battle Force 5 and Acceleracers,but no one beats the Highway 35

Wow it's great to see you here Jeff! That means a lot coming from you. Highway 35 was a huge part of my childhood thanks to you, and everyone at Starlight Runner/Mainframe Entertainment/Mattel.
It goes without saying that you’ve made a core part of my childhood, one of the reasons I love animation, good story telling and even getting my own deora 2 hot wheels car in both real life and in forza 5 and hot wheels unleashed, I really hope that you get the chance to finish this truly amazing series
I must have watched this movie 100 times growing up. Absolutely loved it, and still do.
Acceleracers wasn't half bad either, though you saw cracks in the animation budget the further in you got.
Soundtrack is still amazing to this day and I regularly listen to it.
I absolutely agree, I just Wish there was a Skilled Team of Fan Animators to Finish Acceleracers with a Final Movie. They Could probably use the car Models from the Various Video Game Mods.
I still LOve Most of the thing I did as a Kid because that's Just How Good things used to be. Kids these days get nothing of Value.

I was five when I got World Race on VHS. This really takes me back to when I watched this with my grandfather.
The moment where Vert is driving miles to Hotwheels City leading up to the shot w/ the real Wheel of Power is soooo good and left an impact on me, the music that plays as Vert starts to leave the Artic Leg and again gets to the WOP really adds to the feeling.
The highway 35 game for the game cube was my favourite game as a kid. I still remember getting home from school and sitting in front of the TV for hours on end. The intro still gets me hyped 15 years later.
I remember for a period of time thinking Highway 35 and Acceleracers were just fever dreams
Then I rediscovered them and expected them to be kinda like “so bad it’s good”
Now I’m just baffled by how great these movies actually are

My most favorite movie I remember watching this as a kid and I make it a tradition every year to watch the full series every year
So I grew up watching this movie love it, thought the drivers were so cool. Had all the cars in the movie. And I went back and watched it. Besides looking like it was rendered for a ps2 I still think it’s a good movie and the actors did a really good job! Omg u have the main car in the video! And I forgot about the video game but I had 2 copies so I could race with my friends Lmaoo. Just got to the end of the video and like the movie I wish it didn’t end!

Ahhhh can’t get over the editing. Love the tv element in the beginning with the music getting louder as the screen zooms into the tv. Little things like that are just the cherry on top

Loved world race and acceleracers as a kid. While World race certainly shows its age and is definitely for younger audiences, i really think in every department other than the animation the 4 acceleracer films hold up pretty good.

The movie was never released in France but the game was. I played the heck out of the game. Me and the twin mill.
My only regret being that the twin mill was a roadbeast car and not a scorcher
Acceleracers was a beautiful sequel series to Highway 35
as a young man, i’ll give mattel my first-born son to remaster this movie and remaster/finish the acceleracers series.

@@aidanjohnston7505 Yeah that is definitely the best experience, I originally thought Distance was before seeing the Realms in that one, Warped not only has wonky & strange physics and track but everything is wavy, hard to endure or not getting sick with the motion but it truly earned the name Warped.

I have the game but the PS2 laser reader stops reading CD roms eventually. The game was a unique blue disc CD. So I emulate the game on my PC now. I also had the movie on CD and the VHS verison, but I lost both.

A stupid kid's movie filled with terrible one-liners, questionable voice acting, a plot that makes water seem thicker, and a surprisingly high amount of attention to detail as to how manual transmissions work...
And I wouldn't have it any other way xD
