    I really like your home gym series, you do a great job of detailing the equipment for a good range of home gym lifters. A lot of these channels are gimmicky or clearly driven by guys who are pimping equipment they’re sent. Well done please keep it up.

      I'm not above taking equipment but I try to use the money from my links and even look to get it used on fb market place. Any equipment I should have my eye out for?

      @@NoFate247 I purchased a set of dumbbell spotter arms from BWTG to help when I’m using dumbbells for decline bench. Watching your dumbbell bench it may be helpful for you. They’re expensive, over $400 but if you do the dumbbell bench often it can help greatly with set up, at least for me it does and gives me better placement then just putting the dumbbells on my knees and lifting them up that way.

    I just bought a 14in wide bench and I HATE it! I am 6'1 and 230lbs with wider shoulders than you, but a 14in bench is still far too wide for me and it restricts my bench press movement. On the flimsy narrow adjustable bench i was trying to replace, I can bench 250lbs x 5, but on a 14in bench I can only do 250lbs x 3. Unless you are extraordinarily wide like an NFL lineman, you should not get a 14in bench.

    I like them personally. I’m 6’1” as well but my shoulders are kind of wide at 22”. It also might be because I used the terrible Ironmaster bench (love their DBs though) as my primary bench for about a decade and it’s as unstable as unstable gets. So any added stability feels like a luxury at this point.

    At 6’3” with broad, bad shoulders I think I’m sabotaging myself on the 11” wide rogue 3.0 bench. Would you think if there’s an absolute will that I could retro fit a REP wide pad on a rogue bench? I’d rather try to make it work for $80 than pay $600 for the black wing.

    • @NoFate247
      @NoFate247  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would assume any type of retro fit isn't going to work or require a lot of carpentry or maching skills.

    Great review as usual. I am a similar height and weight as you and also with a narrower build. I find that even chest supported rows result in the dumbbell (bulkier IronMasters) occasionally hitting the underside of a standard pad. A wide pad would be worse. I also feel the standard pad is perfect for benching. I do not see me picking up a wide pad.

    Awesome and informative review. I had this same question when I was looking to buy one. This would have been helpful back then. I now have a Thompson Fat Pad from Rogue that I love. I wish I could use it for more than flat bench and sitting so let me know if you have any ideas. I did have the same issue as you where my arms were hitting the bench but I got used to it as well. I looked into every option (REP, Fringe Sport, Titan, Bells of Steel, Griffin and others) before I pulled the trigger on it. Also in the future when you review other flat benches, can you share if they’re comparable with your current wide pad? I’m always curious about cross brand comparability but there are rarely clear answers so it would be awesome if you could share.
