In this Building Management System Training/BMS Training video, we will talk about the DDC Control System and DDC panel. DDC stands for Direct Digital Control. It is a programmable microprocessor-based system that reads data from BMS input devices, processes that data using programmed logic, and gives output to control equipment in the BMS system.
There are different types of DDC controllers, in this video, we talked about types of BACnet controllers which are Application Specific Controllers(ASC), Advance Application Specific Controllers(AASC), and Building Controllers.
We also showed a practical DDC panel describing different components of DDC panel.

Thank You Zia for your comment. VLC's is a series of product from alerton. There are different models for example VLC-1188 is fully programmable DDC controller which communicates over BACnet MSTP and VLC-1600 is universal input module consisting of 16 universal inputs and it also communicate over MSTP. there are other VLC product also like VLC-853,VLC-550 etc.

Hi Richard, Mostly general purpose DDC are programmable while some DDC for specific application(FCU control etc) might be configurable. DDC programming videos are part of this course and will come later. Please stay tuned.

good video. make sure you have videos of all components of BMS. Then have a video where most or all the components are integrated into one system. You may already have these videos and I will watch your videos.

Jace is a DDC controller based on Niagara Framework. They are mostly used as Supervisory controllers and for intergration purposes. We can connect field controllers to JACE and can perform supervisiory action like alarming, scheduling, trending inside. For small buildings JACE can replace a WORKSTATION and we can develop graphics inside JACE.

Yes Niagara JACE lies under BACnet Building Controller (B-BC).
Can u help me to reset ddc on hvac ..after ddc asking password it will show nothing like no display but there is backlight

To make any changes in DDC logic you would need a licensed software (CPO Studio).

What is backnet
BACnet stands for Building Automation and Control network. It is communication protocol which is being most commonly used in Building automation. I will make a separate video related to BACnet.. Stay tuned.
Sir difference between DDC and SCADA
SCADA (Supervisory control and data acquisition) is computer system for gathering and analyzing data. It is front end application used in industy. While DDC (Direct digital control) is used in Building automation and commercial applications.
In industrial application PLCs are used which are specially designed to control complex machinery and to withstand harsh industrial environment.

What is mac address why is it used with I/O module?
Mac address is the Physical address given to a device to identify it over the network. Mac address is assigned to BACnet IP and MSTP controllers to identify it on the network.
