- Goa has been acclaimed, the world over, as a land of sea, sand and sunshine, which attracts a large number of tourists of national and international repute. Moreover, traditionally music and art have been running in the blood of all Goans. Musicians from Goa have been a talent spread all over the globe and more importantly in the Bollywood film industry.
Mando which originated in Goa is an event of music, song and dance, which was traditionally hosted by the elite and aristocratic families of those days celebrating a festive occasion. This trend continued thereafter as a cultural festival specially during the Christmas season where various groups participated in state level competitions which were subsequently organized.
The traditional Goan mando has been a regular feature of the yesteryears, but over a period of time, it has been fading away and thus has created a huge void in the cultural/music-loving people of Goa. In order to revive this inspiring and beloved traditional/cultural trend, a renowned and reputed group
Goychim Lharam, comprising of young talented and musically qualified artistes have come together to give a splendid performance.
ABOUT THE GROUP
Goychim Lharam was established in the year 2016 under the leadership of Floscy Gracias, with the
objective of promoting and sustaining Goan Culture. We strive to nurture Goan culture and bring to stage the aspects of Goan Culture which are slowly taking backstage and tapping local talents and being ambassadors of culture to the Global Goan Diaspora in particular and the world at large.
About the MANDO
The story of the mando is based on a love story of a couple who fall in love at local prayer gathering and express their intimacy towards each other. The story further dwells on the terminal sickness of one of the lovers and yet both decide to stand by each other though family and friends advise the contrary.
The message the mando tries to drive home is that true love should withstand any hardships or turbulences that may be unexpected visitors in a relationship.
About the DULPODS
These dulpods are based on the current scenarios of modern families with an attempt to compare it with the years gone by. The dulpods try to bring to light the self-less life practices that were prevalent some decades ago which are now being replaced with self-centeredness and selfishness.
MESSAGE FROM THE TEAM
We as Goans should strive to promote and make a place of prominence for this fading culture of Goa. Government and organizers should undertake responsibly the task of reviving and maintaining the fading culture and involve citizens to uphold their traditions by providing suitable platforms in addition to the current existing festivals. A sense of belongingness ought to prevail among the younger generation towards the culture and tradition of our mother land.

What a superlative performance. Both the music and the visuals were outstanding - beautiful singing, superb musical support, immaculately groomed performers, a flawless delivery and the inspired choice of the venue, at the Menezes Bragança manor - all came together to deliver a magical performance. A especial mention of the ladies' (traditional) dress - here is an example how the genius of a designer can take a modest day-to-day wear, the pano-baju, and raise it to the level of a haute-couture. Some of the singers seems to have forgotten how to pronounce Konkani. That American r sound you are singing sometimes exists in no Indian language! Spoils an otherwise excellent production.

@@goychimlharam6196 The accent really was my only negative. The quality of your production is probably the best of any Goan content online. After showing the video to my parents, my mother did point out the possibility that maybe the singer (the female soloist) lives abroad and perhaps that's why the accent is like that. While I do not think that's the case, it did confirm my observations. As some one who has had to sing professionally in multiple languages, I've worked with language specialists in some cases because no matter how good your voice, if the pronunciation is off, it is very noticeable to native speakers. I appreciate you writing back and I really do look forward to your future videos. All the best!
