It is so sad that Michelle Thomas died at such a young age. She had so much potential. I loved her perky personality that she played- a fun character 😀
I agree. It took near to the end of Season 9 for Myrtle to get the idea that Eddie wasn't interested in her and that he loved Greta. When she finally relinquished her love for him, Eddie realized his life would be boring without her mixing it up by reaffirming her love for him and wanted her to stay. Myrtle refused and left.
I freaking love Myrtle, she’s so sassy and Jaleel is PERFECT. His comedic timing is unmatched. I couldn’t believe he was 13 when Myrtle first appeared, he plays her so well, I was floored even as a kid watching this show how good an actor he was.
I can try to understand some words that cheer like “Hush puppies” and “Sweet potato pie” and “Were gonna win” and “We’re gonna die” but I wanna know how that cheer goes
@LetmeGo44 I think the cheer sounded like this “Hush puppies, bread, sweet potato pie, we’re gonna win not we’re gonna die, like a mother watcher but return to retreat, sit trick all evil, can’t be beat”
I like the episode entitled, "Talk ls Cheap". It is when Waldo had Steve and Myra, Stefan and Laura, and Eddie and Myrtle went on "The Tiffany Show" to talk about their love lives and Myrtle came dressed in an Arabian outfit. That was so funny.
The shade was real just from them snaps. Myrtle didn't even have to say anything. It was blatantly clear how she felt. Greta did hold her own. Gotta give her credit for that.
I’d love to see Jaleel White on Rupaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race as a contestant and be transformed to look even better than he did in Myrtle’s final appearance.
Greta: "What is that girl's problem?" Eddie: "Myrtle just crazy." "Naw she's an Urkel. Greta: "Well, if she makes anymore moves on you, I'll slap the ugly off of her." Eddie: "With Myrtle, that could take a whole lot of slapping." 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Michelle Thomas was beautiful and Talented she left us way to soon she played their age but in real life she was older then all the Teens on here! Rest in Paradise
This was one of the funniest seasons to Family matters ever since my childhood brings me back memories I lost it when Myrtle said "My place is with Eddie yours is next to a truck" also R.I.P. to Michelle Thomas who was so beautiful looking. Jaleel White killed it in these type of roles. 😂😂😂😅
"My place is next to Eddie yours is next to a trough now go on girl!!" *snap* haha had me rolling. Got to remember to use that one if some heiffer is all up my crush lol 😂😂😂
I think the reason for it is because Steve can discern the kind of people Laura's would-be boyfriends are like inside: the type of boyfriends who take her for granted and abuse her. On rare occasions there were decent guys on the show she dated, but ended up breaking up with them even without his involvement. Most of the would-be boyfriends would bully Steve and even had one jealous boyfriend treat him as a rival, but it always ends with him warding them off. He sees Laura as a special lady who deserves to be treated with the utmost respect and refused to settle for less than the best for her. Even though she was annoyed by it, Laura was also grateful and pleased that Steve has always cared for her well being and seen more to her than most of the guys she dated. Whereas, Eddie finds Myrtle very annoying and persistent. Thus, it was easy for Greta to hold her off more.
Laura grew to love Urkel, because he first was their neighbor, then he moved in with The Winslows. Laura seen Steve everyday. As for Myrtle, she stayed in Biloxi, and she couldn't see Eddie everyday, but when Myrtle pulled back in her last appearance in season 9, it was then Eddie realized that his life was going to be a complete bore without Myrtle in it. Eddie had gotten use to Myrtle chasing after him and he enjoyed rejected her.
Mrytle:"Oh nothing, I was just wondering what Eddie sees in you?" Gretta:"And I was wondering why you weren't home watching Hee Haw." Mrytle:"I'm taping it you tramp." Gretta:"Who are you calling a tramp, EllieMae?" Mrytle:"You, you certified, citified Baloozy." Gretta:😲
When Greta and Myrtle went at each other of later episodes including the episode "Nightmare at Urkel Oaks" (which was really a nightmare that eddie had), I'm surpized that Greta didn't think to call the police to have Myrtle and Big Daddy (Myrtel's father) arrested for paying Eddie 10 million dollars to marry Myrtle when Greta told everyone that the wedding is a farce, because paying a person 10 million dollars to marry someone has to be illegal.
I think this may be because Greta wanted the element of surprise to crash the wedding herself. She heard rumors that her father, Mr. McClure, may have contacts in Biloxi to help make sure Eddie did marry Myrtle. It was in order for Greta to see them get married, go home and apologize to Mr. McClure. However, this served to anger her because it meant her father is still trying to control her life even when he disowned her.
I laughed SO hard when Myrtle went GAASSSSSP at 1:11. haha. How did Michelle Thomas not crack up laughing if she was standing right next to Jaleel? I wonder if Jaleel ever felt embarrassed dressing up in drag to play her. Honestly I wish Myrtle would've won Eddie's heart and he dumped Greta haha. Not really but it would've been funny to see something like that.
I'm glad they didn't go with that route. Eddie loved Greta so much and told Myrtle off that he wasn't interested in her. It took the near end of Don't Make Me Over, for her to finally get the hint and relinquish her love for him. As she's leaving Eddie realized his life would be boring without Myrtle mixing it up by reaffirming her love for him and asks her to stay. She refuses and leaves telling him that she'll find her own man who will love her for her. I wished they gotten an actress to play Myrtle as an adult.
I would loved to have seen an episode that had Myrtle step into Steve's transformation chamber and seen if she would have came out a real beauty queen. Of course, they would have to have hired a beautiful actress to play the part.
I remember when she and Jaleel did the short- lived sitcom, "Grown Ups" in 2000. It lasted for one season. It won't as funny, but if they had put a Family Matters like spin on the show, l believe it would have been successful and had more seasons.
@@kenterminateddq5311 No, I'm not joking. Grown Ups was a show that starred Jaleel and Tammy. It was part of the UPN Monday night line up '99-2000 fall season. It aired on Monday nights on UPN after The Parkers and before Girlfriends at 9PM. eastern time. It only lasted one season.

They were supposed to have an episode in season 10 where JoMarie Payton returns from Detroit and exposes the fake Harriette(Judyann Elder) as Georgia with Rachel's help. With her and her twin cousin, Henrietta(also played by Elder)'s scheme exposed, Carl kicks both women out of his life.
