Rule #1 Never buy a car you have not physically seen and test driven.
Rule #2 Don't believe the Dekra report it's only marketing tool, pay for your own inspection if the car is over R250K
Rule #3 If you don't have a good eye for cars take a mechanic with you.
Rule #4 Stay away from modified cars.
Rule #5 If the deal is too good then there is a hidden catch/fault with the car.

Bunch of Crooks. Bought a vehicle with a 100% clean Dekra report badge on the online advert, and i checked the "receiving into stock report" and it was near faultless, so i paid my deposit on auction and rushed down to collect. Well, the vehicle was a pile of junk not worth 20% of its value. No electrics were working, no spare key, rotten frame/chassis, missing side fairings, standing in its own puddle of oil. I will never buy from WeBuyCars again - where's the honour and integrity of just owning up to their mistake. PS. I have ALL the documentation necessary to prove my claims but all they did was just hide behind "it was bought on auction" despite false advertising, and they never provided a single answer to any of my claims or accusations.
Secondly, when it came to pay the balance, i stood in line for 2 hours. Then just before printing the invoice they came to me to provide the final signature again and i noticed when i scrolled up that none of the 15+ signatures were my original signatures - they had lost the signatures on the tablet and one of their employees had clearly faked ALL my signatures and removed all my comments against each point of disagreement on the sales agreement. When i accused them of this in front of about 10 people, they admitted they had a technical issue and had lost the electronic responses and that they had just signed everything themselves again to avoid conflict with me as i was accusing them of shoddy service whilst waiting for 2 hours.

We had a horrible experience with WEBUYCARS. My wife was looking at a Abarth 595 "Turismo" that was in mint condition. We had finance so that wasn't a problem. The car was a 2017 model and on the floor for R215k with 40 000 km on the clock. It had been standing for a long time, and went through two auctions where the reserve wasn't met. WBC kept on dropping the price. They wouldn't let us buy the car without a warranty even though there is no law that says that you have to, unless we pay cash!. The car needed service and tires, roadworthy, all of which was added to the price of the car. At the end total price of the vehicle came to R250k, costs which normal car dealerships usually include in the sticker price. This wasn't the worst problem. The REAL issue was that the car on the floor was advertised as a Abarth Turismo, but in reality it was a normal 1.4 T-Jet according to Fiat SA. I had the VIN number checked after noticing some of the Turismo features were missing. We brought this to WEBUYCARS' attention, but they refused to change it to the correct model. So they were falsely advertising and selling this car as a model it wasn't. It had a Turismo badge on the rear but it was probably added by the previous owner who WBC bought the car from and probably paid the seller the value of a Turismo, which is quite a bit more than the standard Abarth 1.4 T-Jet. Fiat SA said that they could do nothing about it, unless it was sold within FIAT group. We tried everything to get WBC to correct this but they point blank refused. We cancelled the deal, and approached the ombudsman who said they couldn't do anything unless we already bought the car. This car was sold eventually as a Turismo to a probable uninformed naive client. WEBUYCARS are crooks! I will NEVER support them, and I suggest those who buy from them do so with great care. A friend of mine in the motoring industry who often buys cars from WBC on auction for their dealership confirmed this as they had bought several vehicles from them with massive problems, including deceiving model issues. Funny enough they are now blacklisted with WBC because they took things further. Buyers beware!

I see plenty people complaining about WBC sales and are not happy. Remember before buying from them try and get as much info on vehicles especially if newish from the dealers especially if it has full service records or still under maintenance plans. Another factor which people tend to forget is the fact that when WBC buy cars their teams have limited exposure to vehicle faults especially mechanical issues, how do they check oil leaks etc when they test drive your vehicle for 10 minutes and then do the deal, there will be issues for sure. I know they will sell you after market warranties where possible and thats the only way for them to assist the buyer with their business plan. I have sold 3 vehicles to them and 2 of them were spotless, the 3rd had some suspension issues but they bought it for a bargain and it sold in less than a weeks time on their website, so they my go to for selling my vehicles. Only advise I can give is take someone with you to check vehicles, test drive the vehicle and remember they have bargains for a reason.

I personally would take a really good mechanic with when buying vehicles from this company, if the dekra report says a typical noise by the engine DON'T BUY IT. also request a proper test drive where you can really test it out on the freeway. I went through three vehicles at the Springfield Durban branch, they either had oil leaks, smoking from the exhaust and the one grand Cherokee automatic wouldn't change into 3rd gear on the highway. Finally the last vehicle was a Nissan suv, can't remember the make. I test drove it on the back roads and it seemed to perform well, I was impressed. Next day I went in and bought it cash, I filled the tank with petrol. Then drove up mango valley highway, only doing about 120kmph. By the time I reached the top by the checkers st johns intersection the vehicle cut out on me. I started it and it sounded really sick, drove it straight to bosche and they checked it up to confirm the engine was broken and needed to be replaced. Not even fix it. I then called the guy that sold me the vehicle and told him, he said he doesn't think I'll be allowed to return it. When I did research, I knew my rights of being allowed to return a vehicle if bought from a dealer within 24h. When I returned it, they had to confirm the engine was broken. But the manager tried to stop me from returning it by saying "On the dekra report it mentions a typical noise in the engine" thank God they took the vehicle back and sent my money back to me the next day. I would not recommend buying from this company unless you have money to spend on fixing it up.

Every dealership, every individual will lie about accidents that they can get away with to charge you more. The onus is on you to know what accident damage looks like. look at serial numbers on panels, misaligned panels, new paint work, pay a mechanic to go with you. it's worth it if you're paying over 50k for a car

Are major mechanical problems after sale on CAT B cars solved?
    What about the CPA?
Will they deliver cars nationally to a branch closest to you?
Why are the Dekra report on engine problems so vague?
Why are the best new stock offered to dealers first and not the public?

Once again, great questions ( if a person from Webuycars read this comment, please advise ).

You want to know the truth about the Category A purchase under finance all the way to where it breaks downwithin 4 months of the 6 month warranty and is returned? ..I have the whole timeline, and loads that would convince many NOT to buy from them..and proof of how you are ignored and how they misrepresented themselves and the BMW I bought....6 weeks from breakdown to cancelation of finance...and now still begging for the finance installment to be refunded almost a month later after they have had the car in their possession after it was returned. .ask me about my experience...I would very happy to help someone from making a terrible mistake...the dekra report means nothing!

I found your cars substandard and overpriced. Your trade ins are also below industry standards. The sooner you go out of business the better.
