A wonderful fic called "While You Were Sleeping" centering around their Korean counterparts made me realize this (it's a Jihoo x Jae Kyung fic, but so heartwarming perfect for their characters😭). Even if I ship the main couple always (tho Korean ver butchered them), it's just tragic when you view every adaptation as them being reincarnated or being in parallel universes, but Ren keeps making the same mistake which leads him to lose her. It was sadly pre-destined in his part. The 2nd verse of "Maybe Next Time" by Jamie Miller was about them😭

All girls should understand that it is mostly impossible to change a bad boy to a good person. That change mostly occurs only in dramas (in real life, it is rare). That's why i liked Ren more than Thyme in this drama. Ren's character is more realistic than thyme's. We may find many 'Ren' but you know 'bad boy turned good' version of boys(eg: thyme) are only a few.

The reason Gorya may have had feelings for Ren was because out of the 4 he treated her with respect. As time went by Thyme began to soften, especially, after the accidental kiss ( which in Thyme’s mind wasn’t an accidental). Then as the side of him began to show that was vulnerable, Gorya realized he needed her. It was a great shoe. I’ve watched the F4 version from a variety of Asian countries. All good. I think I saw advertised there was going to be a version from the Philippines, however, I can’t find it. Anyone know if it was made, and if so, how I can watch it?
Frankly, in my eyes, Ren was not a character that could be with Gorya, their timing was already wrong. The person who takes others into their hearts has already given up on the previous ones. Ren loved Gorya afterwards, but it was too late because when Gorya let him go for his wellbeing, they could no longer end well. In the end, I will say that they were not the right person for each other. Gorya would probably be happy with him, but the relationship she would have with Thyme was more right for Gorya than for Ren, because that's the way the heart is. What matters is not the suitability of that person for you, but how you feel with them. Ren could have taken her along the streets of Paris in a peaceful sunset, hand in hand, but Thyme gave her a rollercoaster experience that she had never felt before and could never feel again. And in the end Gorya chose a dangerous but short ride rather than a passionate but slow walk. What matters is what you choose in life, not your choices.
Come on, Thyme deserves Gorya more than anyone ever would! I know he started off a bad character but ever since ep2, his heart was softening. And ep3 onwards it only beat for Gorya. As much as I love Ren & shipped them before, but he belongs & looks much better with Mira.
