I don't why, but the very bit at the end almost made me cry. I haven't been with you the whole 2 years, but I did watch all of your episodes. Out of all those episodes, the one moment that has stuck in my mind was literally a moment. It was when you showed a shadow of the two of you walking holding hands for a few seconds. I don't even remember which episode it was, but it struck me as such a pure and sweet moment that I haven't forgotten it. What I like about your videos is of course the adventure of it all, the beautiful, idyllic and peaceful nature of it, but the real attraction is you two. Your personalities are so perfect for this type of thing. You're not fake or plasticky. And of course Alan. It just comes across as something out of a fairy tale or adventure book, like Bilbo setting off from the Shire to see the world. Congratulations on surviving two years on the canals! One thing about living in such a small space is that it will highlight any issues with a relationship. Ben, I just received the Roland AIRA S-1, and for some reason I can imagine you getting a lot of use from one, yourself! ❤ Almost forgot! Yesterday, my mother found the engraving of the "Entrance to Regent's Canal Dock, Limehouse, London", printed in 1828, engraved by Frederick James Havell, originally painted by Thomas Shepherd. It's a very finely engraved piece, and an early printing, with high crispness of detail, and hand colored.
Alan is too funny! She always look annoyed, regardless of the situation. "Floating our boat" has several videos of gathering nettles - I've interacted with nettles myself with a negative impact. Love your reflections, and I must emphasize how wonderful it is to have Benny's music as the only music on the videos. I love Benny's reflection that "It has been hard and I think that that's part of growing". Wild herbs are very good for us. Growing wild they may more phytonutrients to cope with the changing conditions. They also are not bred just for max size as the veges in the supermarket are - which lose all kinds of nutrients. Can put nettles into smoothies or cook them in pasta. I make a banana green smoothie with them!

Well done for spending two years on a narrowboat! I've been to Napton, though I didn't make it to Cropredy. On the way I found a deserted Medieval village, a field full of buffalo, and some very nice pubs. My mate and I played a traditional table top skittles game, where you chuck a flat piece of wood called a 'cheese' at the skittles, and my friend overcooked his shot and broke a whole box full of brand new beer glasses into fragments. Then our boat broke down and we had to be rescued. Apart from that, it was ideal.

We have plants that we discovered were brought over and were for special uses. Burdock is one that everybody tried to get rid of. Golden Rod a beautiful wild flower , which maybe was brought over, too. Dentdelion, which I love and find so cheerful, was one everybody tried to get out of their lawn, but we now know it was food and medicinal and also brought over. There was "mint" growing at our creek on the farm, and in the woods, was ginseng, a medicinal plant, but I don't know how it got here. LOVE all your episodes.

It seems like it would give you a lot more protection/room in winter - not just when cruising in the rain but also so you have somewhere dry to store things and get on/off the boat. Plus of course more places for Alan to explore when it’s too cold/wet outside.

I love watching and look forward to your weekly vlogs. Must take you an age to edit and want to let you know we really appreciate it. Just had a sweltering week away on our widebeam on the river Medway. Last year we took it up the Thames as far as Lechlade and it was such fun. You mentioned that you wanted to do the Thames. Do it! We had such a great time! And loved Oxford! We had an argument with a willow tree on the Medway last weekend and lost our duck. Our boat is called The Indian Runner and we had an Indian Runner duck statue ( past times resin sculpture bought in charity shop) and anyway it broke off and sank to the bottom of the river Medway. Unlike Ben I didn't go swimming to find it 😭 I'm so gutted! And so far can't find anything online to replace it. Keep an eye out on your charity shop travels 🤪

Yaw have made Narrow Boating such and adventure and I would trade my life for yours many times over. I have enjoyed Benny's music and Emily's searching for new recipes from all the things around her. It seems like it would give you a lot more protection/room in winter - not just when cruising in the rain but also so you have somewhere dry to store things and get on/off the boat. Plus of course more places for Alan to explore when it’s too cold/wet outside.
It was nice to hear your thoughts about your boat life thus far. I think it would be encouraging to others to hear that. Keep on cruising. Keep on filming.

We were camped opposite the people you were visiting at Crick Festival, my Son took that Group photo of you all. Didn’t want to intrude, you’re entitled to a break just like the rest of us, but it made our week-end a bit special. Only just Subscribed, but I’ve been watching for a year or so. All three of you have a very natural attitude on video, and that’s a bit rare. Thanks for sharing your life.

I love watching and look forward to your weekly vlogs. Must take you an age to edit and want to let you know we really appreciate it. Just had a sweltering week away on our widebeam on the river Medway. Last year we took it up the Thames as far as Lechlade and it was such fun. You mentioned that you wanted to do the Thames. Do it! We had such a great time! And loved Oxford! We had an argument with a willow tree on the Medway last weekend and lost our duck. Our boat is called The Indian Runner and we had an Indian Runner duck statue ( past times resin sculpture bought in charity shop) and anyway it broke off and sank to the bottom of the river Medway. Unlike Ben I didn't go swimming to find it 😭 I'm so gutted! And so far can't find anything online to replace it. Keep an eye out on your charity shop travels 🤪
I absoulutely love watching every single video you all post. I'm really a lose for words but I would love to spend a week or two with both of you.. Yaw have made Narrow Boating such and adventure and I would trade my life for yours many times over. I have enjoyed Benny's music and Emily's searching for new recipes from all the things around her. And Alan is just so enjoyable to watch!!! Words just can't express the love I have for what yaw have been through over the last couple of years. Thanks for the fun times and I wish you two the best of luck in your future travels!!!
Hello Guys, what about heading south? I jog along the Regents canal in Islington & Hackney and there are loads of like minded people living on boats with a fantastic community well worth exploring. The Narrow Boat museum is also in Kings X....If you fancy an exciting adventure!?

Lovely video as always. Benny, since you like making home brew you should try making Limoncello. So refreshing and with the lemons you can make fresh lemonade. I made lavender lemonade and it was divine. Take care and give Alan a scratch for us all 😊
