Jordan Henderson I still remember the first time I heard it lol driving to the car wash. Didn’t like it at first cuz it wasn’t what I was expecting after hearing Another Batch
@@jordanhenderson3307 Ive heard that story but I always thought the one from New Slave was the OG since that’s what the file is called but apparently not. I actually like the "new" one more.
What's that song called that has a (slightly pitched up) female vocal sample that goes like "gotta keep the fight, fight (echoing "fight, fight), gotta keep it right, right, oohh".. and then the heavy beat starts? ... Don't shoot me for not remembering it and not being a rare track, O.K?
Pretty sure that wasn't a Dilla beat. It was uploaded by Mr Fujitive and he makes beats so it could of been him. Alot of beat makers do that stuff to see how people react to it lol.

@@jordanhenderson3307 "Rainy Orpheus" was constructed from the tracks "Can't Find The Time" and "I've Never Seen Love Like This" by the soft-rock pioneering group, Orpheus. Orpheus was lead by the highly underrated singer / guitarist Bruce Arnold and the band's '68 debut on MGM records featured the legendary Bernard "Pretty" Purdie on drums (uncredited). Purdie officially joined Orpheus a few years later and still records and performs with the band. After "Rainy Orpheus" appeared on SoundCloud and TH-cam, several artists including a Portugese beat maker named "Produtivo" uploaded their own versions of the beat improving upon the rather sloppily made original. Then in 2015, Tom Misch came across the track and created his own version as a backing track to an original composition called "On My Mind". The track was going to be the debut single of his new album and his management set about tracking down Arnold to inquire about rights. Arnold referred them to the band's old publisher, a notorious crook named Alan Lorber who owns all the group's publishing and master tapes. Lorber had never paid Arnold a cent in royalties so their relationship was strained to say the least. When Misch contacted Lorber and mentioned Arnold, Lorber went into a rage and refused to even discuss the possibility of sampling any Orpheus track. He even threatened Misch with a lawsuit if he did not immediately remove the demo from SoundCloud and TH-cam. Misch was forced to completely rework "On My Mind" without the Orpheus sample and plans to have Arnold and Purdie join him on stage in New York, LA and San Francisco during his US tour were cancelled. You can still find Misch's original version of "On My Mind" on Dailymotion but any attempt to upload it to TH-cam are blocked by Lorber's publishing company, Iris Music Group. for the beat at 2:26 were the lightworks samples added by someone other than dilla? He's really got that sv dilla flow over the track as opposed to a more jaylib era flow but he wouldn't have known about that Raymond Scott sample before meeting madlib. Dilla could have been remixing his own old tracks but his flow paired with the fact that the siren sample is used and the track fades to lightworks at the end is making me highly suspicious.
yeah good spot, it's actually because the mix it was ripped off has Jrocc playing the stems for tracks. In this case he had the lightwork stems and kept part of it on loop while blending with that Dilla rap solo
