Lifelong hawks fan since 1979...Joe Johnson was a wonderful player to watch. He should be a walk in to the HOF. 7 time All Star and an EXCELLENT defensive player and all around player.
Exactly. All the credit they're giving to Paul George for having such a smooth game-let's be honest, that's Joe Johnson. And he was doing that in his late thirties. Who remembers him versus the Clippers in the playoffs? He literally helped the Jazz beat the Clippers while in his late thirties.
Iso Joe play matched his personality more than most. Smooth and stoic are the words that find me. He looked fat but was one of the most fit/ripped/muscle bound players of all time. Real respect for this legend.
As a hawks fan, I remember watching this guy light it up and he was a really underrated defender (he had to guard guys like D.wade, kobe, monta ellis, etc. all in their prime). Even in todays game 6'7, 230 SG that can score both from the guard post and the perimeter. Mans was ahead of his time.
Work horse indeed. Dude was doing all that work in retro Jordan’s lol. Nah seriously JJ has a job waiting in the league when he wants one. His work ethic and basketball Iq would be a blessing to any franchise
Joe Johnson should have been in the Basketball Hall of Fame before Tracy McGrady; I know what McGrady did for that 3-4 year superstar run before the injuries, but Joe Johnson put in consistent work over a longer period of time, and he performed in high school and college, and not too many number ten picks did what he did....
I love his game so much you can honestly say he’s the older version of Demar derozan great scoring 2 guard strong in great clutch & iso scorers with playoffs & All star 🌟games under they belt 🙌🏾💪🏽🔥
Joe Johnson was a-BEAST-loved watching him play,I remember that series with the Nets-vs-the Heat in a playoff series,Joe was still giving folks tha-BUSINESS. LOL.
Mannnnn this was my team growing up. Them hawks teams with Joe, Josh, Al, Marvin and Bobby would’ve got one in this era. Spent a lot of time at Phillips arena watching them play. Hawks gotta get that #2 in the ceiling
I love this Beautiful game series. You're talking about some of the purest hoopers of the league history and we can feel how much love you feel for the way they played. Your selection in this first five episodes is simply perfect. Really enjoyable vids ❤
Houston Rockets did Joe Johnson dirty. Him and Harden could've been a deadly combination, but the Rockets kept Joe on the bench. Who fucking cares if Joe was old in his Houston years. Dude could still shoot
ISO joe was a problem🔥🔥🔥 I think he could possibly be a hall of famer. I wish joe Johnson went to Cleveland in Lebron’s first stint or dwade in his younger years Also Joe Johnson should have been on the redeem team
Ok here we go. JT you once did a Stunted Growth on Michael Jordan. You stated he could've won more chips and treated his teammates better. I have another player that's as obvious as the nose on your face. An athlete that is in the conversation of being the G.O.A.T. center but could've been the stand alone best. His dominance was always tempered with his reputation for a lack of committment to the game. Despite having four rings on two different teams and being named one of the 50 and 75 greatest players in NBA history, many including Shannon Sharpe have criticzed him publicly for being less than what he could have been if he was just more dedicated. His lack of professionalism interfered with his relationships with Penny and Kobe, both of whom he apologized. As lovable as he is, many feel he could have done more. Next Stunted Growth: Shaquille O'Neal.
One of the more underrated players of his era, but Joe Johnson definitely had a Beautiful Game!
Facts when he’s crossed Paul pierce
beautiful game on Peja Stojakovic
