You hit the nail on the head, I recently got into to tiktok this year and honestly I was really angry at the direction makeup had gone. Everything is so fake now and all the artist have been replaced by "trendy divas" to put it politely. It brought me back to elementary and high school. The same people who bullied me for makeup are now the "influencers" it gives me the ick really bad because once the fad is over they'll find something else to jump on.
yeah its really messed up and I don't think that they themselves or their content needs to change, I think that there needs to be a cultural shift around how we absorb and what were actually doing with the content. The over purchasing of makeup is getting of control and the amount of WASTE I see because of buyers remorse, playing the system, and just really being a selfish person drives me mental.
I have been growing a huge interest in makeup in the past year and finding u on tiktok was literally the best thing that could’ve happened. You’ve taught me so so much and i love watching ur vids while im getting ready
