It’s really unfortunate how the recent album turned out because on the surface it seemed like the new lineup of AILD would last a decent while. Instead we had a full-on migration from the band because of one man just being a POS again (Putting that very lightly). Tim needs to be investigated by authorities, no Ifs or Buts.
They were one of my favorite bands before the arrest. Seeing so many stans circling the wagons for him, even though it was pretty clear from the get-go that he'd done it, actually put me off from the metal scene as a whole for a few years. (I wonder how many finally drew the line at the dog video -- that would really show where their priorities lie.) Dude had his second chance and ruined it. Let's not give him a third.

Given Tim's criminal record, he will be banned from entering the UK on the spot, well, hopefully. Lambesis is a disgusting man, I didn't think he could get worse than assaulting his ex, but abusing an animal, absolute serial killer behaviour. What could motivate someone to kick a dog?
The UK already banned Tim. I was one of the people who initially was willing to give Tim a second chance and I would have loved for them to come to the UK as I never got to see them before. Obviously, I don't care now. And I know that it was Tim holding them all back because I saw Wovenwar in the UK. So clearly, the others were allowed here.
Personally, I'm happy to give AILD another chance, just not Tim. If the old lineup, Nick, Josh, Jordan and Phil were to take over (unlikely as I know Tim has the rights to the name) and they revitalized AILD, ignored the new album that none of them were on, and continued with a new singer, I'd be 100% all over that. Also, I'd be all over a Wovenwar revival. But obviously this would never happen. Tim has the rights, he's the only original member of the band, none of these were part of the og lineup. So It would kind of be like Motorhead continuing without Lemmy or the guys in Megadeth kicking out Dave Mustaine. It will never happen. But if it did i'd be first in line to see those guys lead a AILD tour and new album. It's a shame they couldn't do it when Tim was originally arrested. I'll always love what AILD was, but any present or future AILD movement with Tim still involved is an auto avoid
I'm so glad I didn't put them as my #1 metalcore band. That title belongs to Trivium. Replacing As I Lay Dying at 2 is Every Time I Die. Consistent discography. I wish that they would come back and reunite. Their last album was so phenomenal. Definitely a better band.
I agree, Wovenwar is AMAZING! If they did the soundtrack for John Wick, it would definitely have to be from the second album. The songs Confession, Honor is Dead, Stones Thrown etc. are heavy!! I love them The first album isnt as heavy, but its still intense because it had way more layers and was more intricate. Most songs had 3 guitar parts simultaneously (such as the outro of Prophets) and tons of vocal harmonizing, it was an amazing album. More solid than the second album.
My ex girlfriend was in my car recently and tried to change the station when “Every Breath You Take” came on, having mistook it for “I’ll Be Missing You.” The only thing that shocked me about the allegations against Diddy was how many people had held him in such high regard in the first place.

Oh no, whatever will I do about the two songs of a band that I only liked? I just deleted them. I'm about done with rock drama for this year. Giving multiple chances are just out the door since we're now entering a period of time where - anything goes. Literally.
I think the reason people keep giving As I Lay Dying (and specifically Tim Lambesis) multiple chances is because that's what Jesus does for us - He keeps forgiving us for our actions over and over again, so long as we're repentant of them. And when AILD first claimed to be Christian, it was incredible (as a Christian listener) to see metalcore being shaped by men of faith (at the time). The problem with Tim now, in my observation, is that he's unrepentant. He doesn't believe that all the things he's done in recent months and years are problems of his own sinful heart, and that's where I personally draw the line. As both a Christian and a metalcore fan, I will be leaving AILD behind for the time being, until such an occasion as seeing a band consisting of penitent Christian men wanting to perform ecclesiastical songs again.
I don’t think following a fool who thought he was the messiah and who people think came back from the dead, and who is credited with getting rid of demons is exactly the best thing for mental health

I saw aild during the decades of destruction tour and opening acts had 6-7 song sets and headliner aild had 14+ songs plus a 30-45 mins of tim saying he's better and I was in the back thinking of the accusations *facts* against him

I haven't listened to the band. I only hear the drama like attempting to send his then-wife to the afterlife but failed, the mass exodus of members, the video of him hurting himself, and now this? Does Tim need a 5150 act given to him? (I only know a bit about this act, so I hope someone more knowledgeable can better explain 5150).
At 4:41 you should have clarified which "previous" band members you are referring to. Through Storms Ahead did NOT have anyone from the Ocean Between Us line up except Tim and Phil. Which is another reason why I never listened to it. But today I realized Phil did all the guitar playing for the whole album! (except for 1 solo) So I actually want to listen to it now! Not for Tim, but for Phil
