    The future looks so bad for us. Life is not living anymore. There have been 5 people in my personal group who have taken themselves out. That's very depressing.

      ohmygod.... can I get in contact with you? My next video is going to be about the depression of the younger generation, I would like to speak with you about you - if you are depressed as well - and about your friends. I would not use any names in the video just get some insights. If you are open to that DM me. - Mark

      life is precious and it shouldn't be thrown away so easily and I can say that because there was a time in my life I was suicidal but I hung on and obviously so glad I did. You need to see people with real problems type in your youtube "search" life in India or Philippines and you should feel better. Life is worth living even if you're just getting by.

    Bottom line is world over population. Yes, there was a baby boom after the war. But, has there ever been an adjustment?? Not that I know of. I was born in 1950s and have had to work for everything I have, and I am still working. Why??? Nobody wants to do my job and work without supervision.

    • @MarksWay55
      @MarksWay55  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, it is true with the over population corporations aren't too concerned about their employees well being, there are 100 people waiting to replace them. Unfortunately.

    older millennials had their first jobs in the late 1990s or early 2000s depending on what year they were born so min wage in my state Massachusetts was $6.75 an hour at that time which was 270 dollars a week and on Jan 1st 2025 min wage in Mass goes up to 17.00 an hr. when my dad became a police Officer in the late 1980s they were paid 13-14 dollars an hour for a regular detail and 16 or 17 for overtime $20,500 a year if he'd been able to go back to work after his 2nd shoulder surgery 2013 he'd be making about 70 an hr. now and 90 an hr. for over time such as being extra security when a dignitary like the President Of The United states or a head of foreign state visits like if King Charles III and Queen Camila came for our 250th anniversary in 2026

      Thanks for your comments. I gotta say $6.75 in early 2000 was ridiculously low. I am glad things have change considerably.

      My wife is an older Millennial who was born in 1982 and I'm a late Gen X born in 1978. She would agree with you on this topic.

      @@JackMorrison-jz8hz Thanks for that comment, it is nice to hear people appreciate my efforts. I truly care about all of you (younger generations) because I see the difference, my youth was ideal and it hurts to see what you all have and are still going through. And, it's nice to know not all Gen Z and Millennials think its 100% boomers fault. :)

    i 100% agree with you when you say it was safer for kids to go out in the 60's & 70's, it's a constant argument i have with people who say it's safer now then it was back then. And it is awesome to finally find someone as living proof!
    The main problem i have as a Gen Z s technology.
    The simplest way to describe this is to look at what i was taught in school as NEEDS & WANTS. let's look at the NEEDS of a person living in 1960 compared to 2024.
    1960 NEEDS to survive: JOB, HOUSE, FOOD, WATER, AUTOMOBILE, CLOTHES maybe 1 or 2 more things.
    2024 NEEDS to survive: JOB, HOUSE, FOOD, WATER, ELECTIRC AUTOMOBILE, CLOTHES, MOBILE PHONE, INTERNET, INSURANCE, EMAIL ACCOUNT, PRONOUNS, CREDIT CARD, maybe 3 or possibly even more if several people got together to think it over.
    My point is things have become so complex and not for the better.

      I couldn't agree.... more. :) I used to go hitch hiking to a public pool.... I don't think GenZ knows what hitch hiking is. And, I would not encourage it by the way. The biggest thing is our child hood was so innocent. I wouldn't vote to end the internet, but it's cause more problems than it has helped.

      Definitely safer then. Except now enters Social media. An entirely different dark place for kids who aren’t supervised or who know more than their parents! Much more dangerous bullying, mass shootings, Racism, etc., we could go out and playin the neighborhood for hours. Did we worry about human trafficking or the dark web? It’s a nightmare. But parents have to say NO. It’s not the teachers job, the principals job, or the state government’s responsibility to parent your children. Ask your pediatrician. It is a diagnosable mental health crisis. If I had not been doing my homework or my chores in the early 80s I was usually grounded from my phone. I somehow survived. I thought I would die and miss everything but I made it. Kids need structure and discipline. If I see one more 16 year old working at a store and texting vs. helping customers I may have to start asking them if their parents would approve. I was a single mom, in college studying Nursing and waitressing 2 shifts a week. I did it without screen time .

    Everyone is an individual. This seems especially true in different geographical locations. I moved every year as a child and learned that this is a commonly unknown fact. Gens in the east are Much different than Gens in the west world wide.

      It makes sense, different cultures different anxiety levels, but I don't know off hand if the young people in the East or worse off or not as bad.

      I also appreciate (truly) those who do not blame boomers. Some of us could have done better with our kids and that is why I make the episode.

      Boomers are merely people who existed and got punished for it by other people who do the same,.

  • @heidineumann3997
    @heidineumann3997 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Yes blame the Boomers for their work ethic, their actual parenting, their lack of obsession with consumption, and no kids being left on iPads, we did homework with our children and supported teachers. ❤

    • @MarksWay55
      @MarksWay55  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      very good an actual kudos to the boomers; you don't look like you're a boomer either so double kudos. And to make sure no one takes my comment that you don't look like a boomer wrong: you look too young to be boomer. :)

  • @heidineumann3997

    Spoiled? It’s called parenting! Bed times, outdoor time, monitoring TV time, homework accountability, and manners. These kids are suffering severe mental illness at the highest rates in years.( Fact checked by this RN, BSN, BC Child and Adolescent Mental Health
    Our generation was hardly perfect but we all need to work together if we want our children and grandchildren to succeed socially and professionally.

    • @MarksWay55
      @MarksWay55  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree that the younger generations are suffering from mental illness and anguish. Here are the statistics: Gen Z major depressive disorder 44.5% General anxiety disorder 30.95 Somatization disorder 30.4%
      Millennials: Major depressive disorder 35.8% Generalized anxiety disorder 27.9% Somatization disorder 18%. I have started on the research for a future video (within the next 2-3 weeks) covering the mental health of the younger generations.
