Hi Dan. Regarding questions, I have a few that you may want to consider in your forthcoming milestone video:
1) What has been your most challenging repair?
2) What, in your opinion, are the best locos from a longevity point of view and which are the worst?
3) Is there a loco that you wished you'd worked on, and are there any you'd decline to work on?
4) Would you consider a masterclass on how to fit additional electrical pickups to older locos, such as Lima diesels?
5) Would you consider a video explaining how to safety wire a layout to run both DC & DCC locos (obviously not at the same time!)?
Regards,
Stephen (you fixed my Hornby St Catherine & 2 9Fs).
Another great video
Great video Dan 😊
Great video as always. Would love to see how you add compensation to the wheels I think it would be useful as the Hornby Hushhush does the same thing lifting its driving wheels off the track.
Very informative but costly repair video Dan 👍👍
Tested one of these in the shop the other day: went up in a thick puff of white smoke the moment power was applied!
Oxford Rail's Adams Radials are beautiful. I have the East Kent Railway one. They are very poor runners though. The motor and mechanism are fine, but the driving wheels have little or no purchase on the rails. I followed Sam's Trains advice on trimming the bogie and pony springs and that made a huge difference, but they still won't pull too much. Those pickups are pigs to get back in place.
I didn’t know @Samstrains had done a video, i’ll have to go and have a watch
