    For Mercy they can make changes to her Caduceus Staff, Pistol, Revive, or Valkyrie. They need to stop messing with her mobility and movements and leave it how it was in OW1. These mobility changes aren't balancing the game it's just making her less fun to play

      hahahaha that’s what they did to lucio’s movement when movement got changed 4 years ago.
      His strafing got moved to only w and look, and so did his jumping up on wall. Whereas he used to have a flat jump up height no matter the movement key.

      @@syvulpie I mean now he is faster than he was then at top speed, but it feels a bit icy since it’s hard to slow down. This unfortunately puts you in a predictable trajectory when you wall jump for higher players to shoot at.
      The old lucio also had that jump without needing to look up, meaning you could dodge and weave whilst also being able to shoot the enemy with your crosshair on them.
      I wish I could try that lucio in modern day lol

      I think you are miss-interpreting the changes to GA. Didn't they say in the first Patch Notes (can't check right now) that they are making the change so that any player has access to the Super Jump?
      Her mobility wasn't an issue, they just wanted unskilled players to not feel left out.
      In my eyes, it looks like they messed up, and now they are struggling to fix her, while not admitting that they were wrong.
      I love playing Mercy and I bet that every non-Mercy player was happy with the state she way in, but now I am tired of her only from thinking about all those useless changes.

    My biggest takeaway from this is poor r3tro! They were probably in twitch chat trying to help test with a delay and not being able to talk back properly! My heart goes out to you r3tro in this trying time

    Interesting fact about the armor change: this change was actually in beta 2 from the beginning, but for whatever reason, it was never listed in the patch notes. It just means the -30% damage reduction no longer bleeds over into the health pool if the damage inflicted exceeds the armor points. For example, Brig used to be able to survive a headshot from Hanzo in beta 1 because it reduced the 250 dmg to 175.
    With this change, now only the first 50 points of dmg (35) are reduced while the remaining 200 proceeds as normal leading to a total of 235 damage. This is a massive buff to snipers and pokers (who are already super powerful in OW2) and makes armor for characters with low armor pools (Brig, Torb, Bastion etc.) essentially useless for them. Armored tanks are now also much squishier if they run into a high burst comp.

      As if bastion brig and torb even needed nerfs lmfao. Blizzard, for the love of god, stop making changes that unilaterally affect everyone in your attempts to tune down specific characters (i.e. the speed passive removal when they couldn't not make it stack on genji tracer and soldiers existing speed boosts)

      @@voilavoila196 Honestly, every iteration is worse than the last. Why not add the info for the jump into the character page inside the GA description? Let them know that they have to crouch to start it. Then put an indicator for when to press jump for maximum height. Boom. Original GA super jump is in the game unchanged, new players know about it and the game tells you how to do it in an easy intuitive way.

      @@arelyndis2796 I do believe they should just keep it how it is originally (I’m a mercy main), and I do like your idea to give instructions and indicators to the OG superjump, but this new one is probably the best iteration they’ve made of it in the beta. Ofc it’s not as good as og superjump but it has potential to be something good. Having to flick up to go up is nauseating so a button to go up would be nice (crouch specifically). But altogether I think it could work.

      @@arelyndis2796 You cant just give out every tech a character has. Most of the time its community found, the devs never even thought about it like that. Too many techs to try and fit on the description. I mean Ball alone has like a dozen or more. Its up to the player to seek the info

      @@Frae-_- Did I say every tech? This is a specific case that Blizzard themselves want known and made part of her kit. This effectively moves super jump from "tech" to just part of Guardian Angel.
      Alternatively, make GA as it is in Ow1, but let the player use the interact key to hop at will mid flight.
      The main thing is that making players flick or look away to move certain directions is not good design. I do like the higher level of control it gives, but not at the cost of losing sight of the fight or the person I'm boosting/healing. I'm also not a fan of the charge bar as short range GAs give pretty much no mobility now.

      Its pride, not density. The devs likely felt like having a bug jump become widely accepted as core kit impugned them in some way. So they took OW2 as an opportunity to edit it a tad and take ownership. But all they've got is ownership of ire for messing with what should have been let lie.

      @@anatithe5358 where the hell is this good? super jump is awful, to charge it you basically have to be out of beam range which means mercy needs to be so far to use this she cannot be helpful, a fully charged one barely gets mercy on top of a two story bridge, pocketing flying dps now is extremely stressful, you need to break line of sight with your teammates unnecessarily to do the super jump which breaks the fluidity of gameplay and also may put teammates in danger.
      the good thing about sj was that it gave mercy extreme mobility if you could master it and it always felt natural, you could sj while doing anything and didn’t need to specifically worry about, but now sj is mostly a really bad slingshot unless you remember to look up to fly a really pathetic height.

    If they add this into the game I hope that when the fox healer comes she might come with a cleanse ability to help teammates with morias new orb and other things like ana nade, junkerqueen bleed and maybe ash's dynamite

      That would be absolutely perfect. Now that they're spreading anti to other characters like queen, a cleanse ability would be hype asf. But knowing blizzard they'd overtune it just so the playerbase soyjacks over the new character and builds hype for launch

    That's the problem I have with Mercys new GA. You HAVE to look in the direction you want to move to. Mercy's kit rewards her for staying mobile while being able to focus on the entire team fight, enemies and allies.
    The one second it takes to look up or to your right is very noticeable. It may seem inconsequential but mercys fluid mobility is EVERYTHING. Its like making tracer have to look right in order to blink right, it completely destroys the ability.
    I like the idea and in some circumstances (like the backwards GA) it's really really strong. But I don't know if this is the right direction to take Mercy.

      @@polar6066 no. OW1 GA has no directional movement. You basically go forward but can stop early if you want or press the jump key at the end to gain some extra distance.
      Superjump also didn't need you to look up, you jumped at the end of GA.
      Directional movement sounds nice on paper but having to look towards the direction you move ruins mercys fluid movements, honestly. I dunno, maybe I'll like it more as I practice.

      The new ga can work with the backwards directional control. It should also work with the A and D keys too.

      I also don't personally care for the meter portion of the rework either. I don't get why GA has a meter on it. They just need to set it so it jumps up a set distance without needing to look that direction. This isn't defense matrix where it has a purpose to have a gauge. The gauge just seems completely arbitrary like blizzard thinks putting a gauge on something makes it fun or something.

    The devs at OW always give me the feeling that they base changes basically solely on how it looks on paper. like the mercy change sounds good on paper, but in reality, its a change fundamentally going against what mercy is and how she should be played. imagine tracers blinks but you have to actually look where you blink, severly limiting her mobility and other things. if you look away for x time as a mercy you're not able to do your job as a healer and to look out for your time correctly.

    It's just a sleep dart but the target can run away, from my perspective the explosion range is the only problem. (And a few interactions with other abilities, its not fair to reduce the damage of the D.va bomb, Torb ult, etc...)

      @@EmeraldCrowz When you consider the fact that it's pretty much a sleep dart with a slightly different interactions it seems pretty balanced imo. just need to touch up some of the interactions so that damage reduction only is trigger for projectiles released during the debuff, not projectiles landed during debuff. Tank players are ofc going to complain regardless of what changes are made to support if it doesn't support their playstyle. It just gives more ways for support players to contribute individually to the team and make plays.

      Sleep dart is a skill shot you need to direct hit
      This has splash effect that can just be aimed at the ground to get the effect

      @@brandona9294 This is still a skill shot. Try hitting a genji dashing around that can deflect at anytime, w/this ability. They can tweak the range of the splash as needed or adjust the projectile speed to make it require more or less skill if they decide after some playtesting that it feels like it's getting too much value. It's certainly more of a skillshot than playing Hanzo and spamming head level chokes or playing Genji and dashing at someone to just insta-gib them w/a combo.

    Moira's new enfeeble orb is backwards imo. I think direct hit = damage reduction and the AOE explosion = dealing damage. If they really want it to hit enfeeblement on multiple targets it could just pass through one person(inflicting the debuff and dealing slight damage) but stop on the next(Exploding in perhaps a smaller radius than usual if it hadn't passed through another previously). :/ [EDIT] and or it should also work more like mercy's damage beam, If Ball places down the mines their damage is left alone no matter if he gets enfeebled or not. If ball gets enfeebled THEN during the debuff places the mines they are weakened indefinitely.

      As a moira main with wayyy to many hours I must be honest your version sounds how I wish it worked
      It shouldnt reduce damage to things shot out before weaken was applied
      the explosion imo should only do aoe damage and apply the debuff on direct hit targets only
      Unfortunately with how little time there is in the beta i doubt they will readjust it much

    This Moira change can be balanced tho
    They'll probably reduce the range on the explosion or bring the damage reduction down, maybe 65 or 50%
    Or they do like they're doing with with anti nade (which this ability seems heavily inspired by) and reduce the time frame from 4 seconds to 3 and bring the cooldown down to 14 seconds
    Yeah it seems OP, but if it truly is and isn't just a matter of us getting used to it, there are ways to tweak it that make it balanced while also bringing some much needed utility to Moiras kit
    I personally think things like Tracers bomb and Reins pin, D.Vas bomb, all of these should bring the Moira at least to critical health, like, I like the idea of being able to save a teammate from a pin (coming from a rein main) but I should be able to kill them after another swing, and especially factoring in another support healing, I have a feeling nothing will die
    I can see them bringing the damage reduction down to something more like Zen's discord, 50 or 65 like I mentioned earlier would probably be closer to fair, given it's short up time and long downtime

      yeah i feel with every support being able to somewhat counter a pin, for example (ana and brig can stop a pin; mercy can rez a pin, lucio, brig, and now a ballsy zen can boop a pin) there's no reason why moira's only way to interact with it is to save herself with fade, not very 'supportive'

      @@kylepackard7499 flats showed it in a much simpler way; but in real matches it’s much harder to get that 3m radius effective unless you land it literally on them or right in front of them… it doesn’t feel so big I promise

      I agree that it should be reduced to 50% (or maybe even 25%) but the cooldown already feels like an eternity for an ability that only lasts 4 seconds so I think the cooldown is fine… it’s not like mercy’s res being 30 secs

      @@crystalclown96 Remember when people said the SAME THING about Ana's biotic grenade when she first came out? Yeah, yeah. It's really like that. At low elo the enfeeble is useless. But in high Elo like 4.2k+ it's busted. The second they get hit with enfeeble all 5 of them are going to W into the enemy team and absolutely rofl stomp them as the enemies do tickle damage. But, in lower ranks or the average gaming experience, it'll probably feel like a niche ability.

      It is only about a meter or so difference. Although you do have to look STRAIGHT UP to get the height. I hate this version the most of any of them. Honestly, put the super jump tech info in the ability F1 description and put an indicator in game for when the super jump will work. Boom. Tech is still in game as is in OW1 and new players have the info and intuitive hud display to do it more easily out of the box.

      @@arelyndis2796 I've been looking down and pressing s and space to jump which is the same amount of key presses needed in the live version. Which blizzard said they wanted to avoid lmao. I would have been more okay with this change without the charge meter. Trying to ga slingshot short distances has been rough

    Just leave mercy mobility how it was in Overwatch 1. I hate those changes because now they've basically completely fucked up her most enjoyable ability the Superjump. Mercys mobility in Overwatch 1 was already really great and I think they should keep it like that and focus on more important things!

      Honestly, put the super jump tech info in the ability F1 description and put an indicator in game for when the super jump will work. Boom. Tech is still in game as is in OW1 and new players have the info and intuitive hud display to do it more easily out of the box.

    Honestly I’m kinda okay with the Moria change. It seems like a more powerful Ana nade where it can have insane impact, but has to be done at the right time. I think it’s stronger than nade, which already has fight-winning potential, but it’s on a longer cooldown, so it’s more punishing if you miss, or can be bated out. I think it would be best if they made it so you can either use that OR use the heal orb, not both, but this doesn’t seem too bad.
    Nvm now that I’ve played against it take it out of the game thx. Feels like crap to be hit by it

      I _was_ a Moira main, but I quit her with this patch. She's complete ass now. So many nerfs for 1 ho-hum 4 second ability on a huge cooldown. Is 4 seconds of damage reduction even that bad? Sorry you had to pause your slaughter for 4 whole seconds. It's no where even in the same ballpark as anti-nade, the 10 second cooldown that wins every battle it's used in. You go purple, you die. You get enfeebled, it, slows your killing by 4 seconds? It's pathetic, even without the reduction in healing orb, the reduction in biotic self healing, the total elimination of damage orb, and the increase in fade cooldown. She was just nerfed into oblivion. Just watch... no one will be playing moira soon. It's all I used to play, but I'm not playing this version.

      Let’s put it into perspective. Putting aside ult negation since that’s either rarer or on already mediocre ults (Visor, High Noon), just in a regular low-elo match the Moira’s not gonna think about saving orb for key moments. They’re going to see “big guy rushing” and blind throw orbs at the biggest target: the tanks.
      With most of the tanks being non-barrier focused now, and the splash range of orb, I’d wager 80% of all orbs will land on any tank you throw it at. For heroes like Rein, Ball, and Junker Queen that have to be that close without projectile negation (Rein literally being in swinging distance for damage and prediction reliant on blocking), might as well bump that up to 90%. And we’ve just watched Rein unable to kill 200 hp targets through a full slam combo, and only doing like 100 damage without ult.
      If this goes through, every tank now has to live with the fact that with the games moira’s in, 25% of the time they might as well be legit bots. 4 second duration on 16 second cd, not to mention Ana and Zenn also being tank destroyers.
      Like, would tanks be able to actually function in OW2?

    Well I was hoping for anti-heal percentage on the damage orb... I guess this at least adds some utility, though it's not at all ok being 75% damage reduction. Ultimates and tanks in general about to be walking decoys😂

      True. They should make it lower cool down, no splash and 60-50% damage reduction. That way it would reward skill but limit the ability to giving value with only skill.

    The mercy change is effectively losing super jump in exchange for being able to slingshot at new angles (including upward) and much more accessible reverse ga.
    It opens up some cool new stuff, but still limits a lot of what she used to be able to do. She's now limited in how far she can go by how close she is to the ga target. Also, prop jumps are still gone from the last beta. And now bunnyhopping out of slingshot seems to be gone too. In total, she feels oddly sluggish a lot of times now.

    Guardian angel is 100% what makes mercy fun, at least for me. And I do agree even if thematically it ruins her lore rez and bap immortality also should not exist. Someone works hard to get a pick, or your teammate was dumb, it's fair, there shouldn't be abilities that counter that. I've had players ask for mercy so they wouldn't have to worry about dying... Which is a very poor mindset for this game I believe :(
    About guardian angel changes... Hated the previous one, this one... Prob also gonna hate this one, looking at where you want sounds annoying... Just make the crouch work during guardian angel more easily, instead of needing frame perfect input make it so you could press crouch anytime to superjump when close to the target, no matter the current height. (On live you have to be lower than your target to super jump, that's why you need crouch + GA).

    best fix if they're really go through with this, is the ratio between number of people hit to size of damage reduced. 75% reduced if single target, and it splits up when you hit more and more people.
    this is really just a sleep dart, and with sleep dart you don't do damage at all for (6?) seconds.
    It's imo good, but it might take some time to adjust.
    Also this may open up for an Ana/Moira comp which is I think pretty rare

    I think the whole idea is cool. I think if it didn’t have the explosion at the end it would be a cool skill shot that would have really good value. And probably a less damage reduction would be good.

      Someone suggested that it still has the blast damage, but only weakens on direct hit. Would make it much more fair if it did that, dropped the damage to 50% for 3 seconds, and if Moira kept her old cooldowns/damage/heals.

    not a fan of the mercy change having to look where to superjump, too busy watching the field and trying to ensure i have a safety target in view to ga to. eh maybe i just need to try it. the auto super jump was better imo (as you could still cancel it when GA to target by button press instead of letting it go off)

    It's definitely powerful but the fucking CD's like 16 seconds anyway... I honestly think it's less broken than you make it seem. From what I've seen from emongg's stream today, it also seems a bit harder to land outside of a stationary target anyway (plus you even missed some shots yourself in your controlled testing environment).

    I don’t think the Moira orb is THAT bad. I found that bouncing damage orb that goes through shields to be much more of an annoyance. It’s essentially just a weaker version of sleep dart that could be better in some situations. Compared to immortality and sleep dart, I don’t think it’s THAT powerful. The enemy can still move, heal, block and escape just as easily, whereas you can’t do any of that whilst slept. They could tune down the AoE slightly and change how it affects independent objects like D.va bomb and Hanzo’s dragons but that’s all the tweaks it really needs. It’s definitely a buff for heroes that don’t touch the ground like Pharah.

      difference is dart is a skill shot that can be hard to land, and the enfeeble orb hits in a massive range that feels the size of lucio's aura comparatively

      @@JBayerBB6 then reduce the size of the AoE, like I said. The size of the projectile won’t matter when hitting tanks regardless. However, I think the orb does require SOME AoE compared to dart. Moira is a much more fast paced, mobility focused support that doesn’t do well at range compared to Ana who excels in range, her sleep dart can travel incredibly far and still be useful, same with her grenade and sniper shots. Moira has a max distance of 20m on her biotic grasp comparatively (and way less damage output) so her kit needs to have some more upsides such as the AoE necrotic orb.

The necrotic orb has a large splash damage and still yields full results. The power of that orb isn't the damage, it the reduction and getting the full benefit from splash damage with that big of a hit box is insanely OP on principle

    Splash damage should definitely be reduced for Moira's necrotic orb, but other than that I think it's great. It finally gives her the ability to outplay like all other supports, and like many people are saying, the end outcome isn't very different from an Ana sleep.

    ik this is pretty overpowered rn and it'll probably get nerfed soon but he literally looks at this thing right after saying how the armor nerf (which was already in ow2 beta 1) is really dangerous for current armor tanks. I do think those tanks could use some help, but this can also give them some additional survivability once it's been tuned back.

    I haven’t had a chance to play Mercy in this patch, but i was okay with how it was, I had turned off “Toggle Guardian Angle” so I would have to hold shift to fly the full distance and activate superjump. If I didn’t want to superjump, I’d simply let go of shift just short of my destination. This seems like they’re just overtuning the ability

    Some characters use the F key to do a certain action (tp, destroy turret/translocator), so why not use the F key for other characters as well? When using guardian angel instead of super jump being triggered automatically, you can press F to perform a super jump if you want to!

    Console mercy player perspective on new guardian angel, rapidly flicking the camera into the sky EVERY time you fly at someone is going to be a huge fucking pain. Super jump used to be fun to pull off, but so far, none of their changes have come close to finding a good alternative.
    Moira rework looks decent tho I won’t lie. Damage reduction should be lowered, explosion radius reduced, and debuff should only be applied on a direct hit, but she looks really fun now, apart from those issues. It’s good they’re making her more skilled (and getting rid of the god forsaken bouncing damage orb 😂)
    Edit - Saw someone say they could maybe change the damage reduction to the target hit taking less healing. Could see that working

    The crazy thing about the moira change is that since you have both orbs and the aoe AND mobility is at the beginning of a fight you can use the heal orb, jump above any shields or around a flank and hit the tank and possibly a dps or both, it’ll instantly win a fight because you can just charge a team down and take no damage, like an anti but you inherently have more mobility than an ana

      anti nade still stronger. As long as your healers are ready to pump heals you can manage not dishing out damage. Now an anti nade, a few wrong blows and you’re dead

    I understand what flats is saying as a fellow tank player regarding this ability like discord being overly oppressive for tanks. But that does mean OW2 should have a general philosophy change where every clutch support ability should be made less effective against every tank (sleep duration, anti nade, weaken, discord, resurrect cooldown being longer for tanks cuz of their durability, lamp). They already did it for knockback resistance and ult generation, which is really nice but do we gotta just make everything like that. The first thing ppl say nowadays with almost every new ability added is how much it will fuck over tank players

    Think flats stumbled on a new moira tech without knowing. Noticed that you have to hit them directly with the orb or it doesn’t hit, but flats discovered that it still hits if you use it’s splash effect by hitting their feet and it has more range in using its place . Interesting

    I've been playing with the new Moria ability for awhile, and it's not super easy to get effective value with it. You have to predict high damage within the next 4 seconds from your enemy. Predicting it and being in the right place and hitting the shot if the hero isn't big, slow, or next to the ground is hard. It has huge value if you get it right. It'll take time to get used to, If people get much better with it they might nerf the reduction. But it's fun if you pop off with it.

    I think they should combine Valk and Rez and then give her a burst heal as a replacement for her "E". Or at the least make it so you can combine her dmg boost and healing in some way. But basically, if you press "Q" on a teammate with ult up it rez's them while activating valk. If there is no dead teamate you just activate valk with a rez charge. And have it charge fairly quick.

    I personally think that the Mercy change is good (certainly a step in a better direction than every previous attempt they've made), but it needs several tweaks to feel right. The mechanic of turning to alter flight direction should be changed so that it reads button inputs instead, that way launching left or right is more fluid. It also needs more initial momentum, moving a short distance grants basically no movement.
    I also think that the response to the Moira change is a massive overreaction. Having actually gone in and played Moira in some matches, I always found myself using it whenever it was off cooldown to counter some enemy ability, only to have another ability right afterwards that I needed the orb for. While strong, it's nowhere near as broken as it seems just looking at numbers. Compare it to sleep, or hook, or flashbang in OW1, all abilities which instantly take an enemy out of a fight. This is so much less broken than those. Heck, it's less broken than Ana's Nade, which similarly takes enemies (those being your opposing healers) out of a fight temporarily, with an even better AoE and an even better cooldown.

    75% seems crazy. They should make it last longer but only reduce like 25%. Also if they had done this at the start of the beta I doubt queue times would quite as horrible. Still bad, but better.

    The ability makes sense but is not consistent. It should work like any damage boost, applying to projectiles before they get used, so if you waste an ability or an ult it's just a bad reflex fault. Dva and Tracer interactions are so dumb imo, but the 75% damage reduction for only 4 seconds feels kind of balanced. Maybe reducing it to 3 seconds and shortening the cooldown while adding better interactions should be the way to fix it.

    I think where they messed up is making the enfeeble orb damage reduce anything the target does, not just damage done to Moira herself. If it’s just to her I think it makes sense, but if it bullies damage dealt to ANYONE then that’s just beyond broken and borderline just ruins so many ults, there will ALWAYS be a Moira on every team. Unless it is indeed just for damage dealt to her, didn’t really seem quite clear if that’s the case.

      It is damage against anyone, and after playing it in game, it isn't as crazy powerful as it seems. I used it mainly to help my tank win their duels, or to help my other support survive a dive. It is useful but not as broken as it seems in a training room vacuum.
      Also, you really feel that long cooldown.
      And no, I am not a Moira main. This change though makes her more engaging to play and without that bs bouncy orb of doom, she is less annoying to play against.

    my main gripe is it makes the game unfun to play when you are weakened, but i like seeing some defensive abilities on healers since we dont have a second tank

    Moira is my second most played hero. I like the ideas had, but not the application. 3 meters is bigger than you think, and 4 seconds is a lot. I think 2.5 seconds on impact is more fair, and Tanks should be affected less. Heal orb cooldown is reasonable, but compensate with higher healing output or faster resource replenishment to make up for lost team healing. Fade cooldown or self healing reduction are both reasonable, considering the support passive.
    Essentially, what I'm saying is that this change exchanges survivability for power... and supports have had a massive problem with survivability in OW2. This only highlights the problem with supports in OW2. They're too powerful, but not fun to play.

      I find this ability very hard to get value out of. In the middle of the fight it’s a lot harder to hit what you want than you would think. It has potential but it’s hard to pull off

    The necrotic orb needs to be nerfed to 50% as that’s enough to take the bite out of important targets yet not completely neuter them. And a small radius nerf wouldn’t hurt as well.
    Also, with all these debuffs in the game makes me think that Roadhog really needs an ability that allows him be immune to them for a small time. He’s supposed to be the methodical juggernaut wild boar but he is currently just a slow farm swine due to his susceptibility to everything

      Lowering the damage debuff and radius is a great fix. Roadhog's breather could remove debuffs as a fix to your issue.

    Im curious how reaper works with blossom and wraith. Does wraith clense the ability? Also blossom life steal is worse? Im curious on that

    I mean, the Moira Orb changes are honestly fair and not really op. Its easier to hit than sleep dart, yes, but it's not like it stuns you. Sleep darts puts you to sleep for what, like 3/4 seconds anyways, so it's more of an alternative. Genji Blade? Hit sleep dart, he dies (unless everyone single other play on your team is an AI). Hit Orb, he he's just useless or has to fall back. It really does negate some ults and stuff obviously, but I mean, so does sleep, AND not to mention the numerous other abilities that, yk, actually kill/damage the target in a shorter span of time and that are easier to hit.
