Crazy how these guys just put a black hole simulation in the background. The way light is warping all over the place is impressive! They even put red and blue shift in when things really get moving!
In the first Redout there was the Alien World track that was actually Jupiter's moon Europa, and they make it the track go from under the ice of the moon to the space, this is just a neat detail that i can think from memory and add some immersion in a game that otherwise will be just crazy racing...
Happy to help :') Don't feel too bad though, I was known as one of the best players in the original game, and I'll gladly try to help out if you shoot me a message on discord!
@@ZephTheAwesome Hey thanks! Played a ton of Redout myself but definitely questioning campaign balancing especially since Xbox is obviously on a different build - the medal scores are different, there are no cutscenes, you can spin out in place sometimes for no reason, and the music and sound effects have severe bugs. 😔. Will never be this god tier though... 👏👏
Really loved watching this, great run! One request though - is it possible to move the controller display to the bottom left corner? It'd be great to see how you manage the boost and health bars (can somewhat rely on the audio, but seeing it would be helpful). Thanks!
Hey There! I had just taken my layout from the first game but you're correct, it should've been on the side. It will be right side instead in the future.
That was Insane (in a good way)... Question, How many hours do you have in original Redout? (or Wipeout/BallisticNG) also do you have an above average number of fingers? 😉 Have a sub as well! All best from UK 🖖👍
Thank you! I have a good 1000+ hours in the first redout and while I have the most typical amount of fingers, I'm using a controller with extra buttons for rolling midair.
@@ZephTheAwesome I suppose that would do the trick for when you're asked to use the D-pad, curse my lack of foresight and just going for a wired 360 controller instead
I'm honestly both relieved and disappointed by the fact that you don't get randomly swatted by asteroids and other space debris while flying through the air. Lmao 😂
Really strong gameplay! Great performance, really :). I started today with Redout 2 and I like it. But if I’m honestly I like WipEout more 😊😅. What about you?
Hey there! Currently the online functionality seems a little subpar and it seems a little unclear what their plans are for leaderboards in time attacks (with regards to different speed brackets). Other than that, just some bugs that have popped their heads out. I have no doubt in my mind that all of this can get sorted out properly in time though.
Never played it, so I'm afraid I can't tell you. Know that the game is not going to be holding your hand, but if you like a challenge it should be up your wheelhouse.
I have played F-zero GX, and redout 1 and now redout 2 This is more drifty than F-zero but FAR less than redout 1. The heat / boost mechanic is somewhat similar to F-zero's health -> boost which is great F-zero has good difficulty but is still consistently beatable at max difficulty, which is still a good thing. Redout difficulty (default) is pretty hard as you start to rank up, I know that I'm still learning redout 2 but its definitly hard, although it doesnt feel like theres any bs rubberbanding, just an AI that rarely makes mistakes. (although it still does which is good) You'll be able to learn it somewhat quickly, also bumping the sides does nearly no damage but slows you down considerably in R2. Comparing back to R1, R1 is very drifty where the steering is much tighter in R2. The boost changes are genius since redout 1 encouraged boosting near-zero especially with the lunare. The sense of speed in redout 1 was both kept and actually exceeded (this also feels faster than F-zero, F-zero and R1 feel similar speed wise) The tracks can be a little narrow though, but that hasnt been as bad as it can sound.
This might be my favorite hovercraft racing game since GX, if that helps. The boosting in the game isn't EXACTLY the same, but it has a very similar feel. That being said, it's a very unique game that feels unlike anything else out there
@@timothygooding9544 Interesting about the track width; even the "far" trailing camera makes the tracks seem much narrower than they actually are, due to the FOV and fisheye effect. If you watch the ship continue after races, you'll sometiumes get far overhead views that show the whole track width and you can see a huge difference in the actual width of the track. I wish the far cam veiw was from much further back, especially during jumps, but yeah they do appear pretty claustrophobic while racing.

The Helix Gang is proud of this demonstration of superior racing performance
you could say the competition...
got hexed
Rainbow Road after smoking an ounce of crack cocaine. Good piloting - thanks for showing me how much I suck at this game. 😭

that jump at 3:05 is straight up foul, really masterful work here.
my brain is not fast enough to watch this video

The music❤️✨✨✨✨
looking and sounding good
Congratulations!!
Masterful flying, boss.
Thank you kindly!

THIS IS THE GAMEPLAY I WAS LOOKING FOR!
This feels like Phantom road from F-Zero GX. Oof it was a though one.
More footage of Zeph being awesome
Those landings at 1:48 and 3:20 lol
I might've been sweating at that first one a bit. Second one actually was just fine.

Man I wish I was this good
Practice makes perfect.
Does anyone know the name of the song playing? The music makes this game that much more enjoyable to me! Love it!
Matteo Tura - larsen
This track really reminds me of heaven and hell on "jet moto"(ps1 game)
I cannot for the life of me get the hang of using the right stick over the left stick. It just feels so counterintuitive.
My name is Zephan, my family call me Zeph, and I also play Redout!

Brathtaking! If you don't mind, what are the few kinks that you hope will get worked out?

🎉😮🤙❤️
What is that name on the bottom center of your screen?
I believe it's a streaming overlap webapp found here: gamepadviewer.com/#menu
It's not native to the game.
Do you play with assists or not ? me i personnalise
I personally play without assists.
Ok if this is what Redout 2 is about I might buy it. How does this compare to Fzero GX?

@@photonjones5908 true, but I don't think it hurts too much the handling works for the track design
I approve.
