I dont understand why some people say that new Outlander don't look so god.. I think that this is one of the best looking cars in SUV/crossover class. Maybe it's not attractive like previous model, but attractive doesn't mean nice-looking too. New is seample, but so elegant and still sporty aggressive..
I bought one the same copper orange color, 2.4L SE . Same Leather interior three row seats All the safety tech, amazing Rockford Fosgate sound system. Still have it in 2023. Zero trouble. Other than normal maintenance I've never been back to the dealership.
i went up always to 122mph on my gt v6...very stable on a vehicle like this. great job on the handling. thats what i like about the mitsu..uded to own 2 evos, 8&10. i love mitsu....
I think that's the most genius part of this vehicle. They manage to put 3rd row seats(regardless the comfort) in a compact package, offering this feature in this segment really surprises me as well...
I really like how ecstatically this looks. I agree it's pretty much generic and looks a lot like a couple generations ago but that's what I like about it. I own a 2001 Mitsubishi Montero Sport. I still drive it. I've never had any issues with it and it does extremely well in the snow. How it handles in the snow is very important to me since I live in Alaska. I've been looking to buy a new car - similar to the one I have and here's my answer! I'm looking forward to it coming to the USA!
Nice truck with plenty to offer and that price is not a nationwide price. I've seen them as low as $32k so the $38k price tag is not etched in stone!! As far as gas, a V6 engine doesn't mean you HAVE to get the top grade gas. The manufacturer will tell you what they recommend and what they don't recommend. Gas prices are high no matter what kind you choose!!
Mike Hunt, please educate yourself. Mitsubishi will not go out of business. They are one off the biggest company on earth. Your ignorance is unbelievably.
This is actually a compact crossover, considering the dimensions. Plus, the CR-V also has third row seating in our country, although it is sold as an option.
Very good car....realy the reliablity of mitsubishi is so good.in my openion mitsubishi has a very good vehicles in all categories that it has car in it.congratulations
For everyone bitching about the $38,000 price, put it in context... That's Canadian dollars which is usually always higher than US dollars. In the states it starts at about $23k and tops out at $33k
The last generation was beautiful, this one is alright, but just not up to that standard. On the other hand, the amount of features packed and the third row should make this car attractive to people looking for those option in the smaller crossover segment.
Funny that he says "How does Mitsubishi as a small company" compete with the other manufacturers. Actually, although Mitsubishi's presence in the auto world isn't great, the company itself is HUGE. Mitsubishi also builds supertankers and container ships, helicopters, heavy construction equipment, motorcycles.....you name it, they make it. We don't see much advertising for their cars because it's a small segment of what they do but as a whole the company is much bigger than Toyota.
I think they swapped the front of this with something more unisex. The exterior isn't anything too inspirational..it kinda looks like an Audi Q7 (or even a Cayenne??), but due to its many standard features and top notch safety, I wouldn't mind driving it.
Went to the launch at a local dealership and first impression driving in to the dealership is right away pretty dull compared to the 2011/13 models. It just did not have any impact for a new model. The grill is pretty "dead" as well. They seem to be going backwards in terms of the back lights as they reverted back to regular bulbs compared to LED in the old models. The 18" wheels look like 17".
Is this really a "compact crossover" considering it has 3rd row seating? I was thinking it would compete more with the CX-7, the bigger Santa Fe, Pathfinder, and the Tribeca.
They do not say on this ad that the V6 uses PREMIUM gas. As though fuel isn't costly enough. Bad choice Mitsubishi- you blew it. 2003 Mitsubishi Outlander owner.
A 2014 Outlander is not going to compete against the 2012 CX-7. It competes with compact crossovers due to price. Pathfinder and Santa Fe are about $28k starting, Tribeca is some stupid amount like $33K. When people say they want a compact xover, they don't have a size in mind. When it comes to size, most SUV buyers limit themselves more by paycheck than practicality.. They really mean "I want a crossover at around $21k" So that's what Outlander gets compared to.
for almost the same price, i would rather get the explorer, v6, 3rd row seat, 290 hp, has all the tech like lane departure warning, parallel parking etc. and has better looks.
How is it possible that in USA, 2.4-liter Outlander costs $23,820 (17,300eu), while in Europe 2.2-liter Outlander costs 30,500eu??? Dont understand...Car with better engine is cheaper?
Actually, I don't know why is that, but all cars are much cheaper in USA than in Europe.. Couse of different policy in economy or something.. Also, 2.2L is turbo-diesel engine, and turbo-diesels in most cars cost more than gas engines even if they have less power. Sorry if my English isn't very good..
you're not confusing Canadian money with US greenbacks are u? Big difference... Evos in Canada go for about 50k... they start at 34k this side of the continent
Now it is a lot less. Keep in mind that in 2013 this car was almost a year new. It would be like if he was advertising a car now and it would be released in June of 2020. However, I am sure that you have figured this out by now, as it has been 6 years lol.
Interior - well again pretty "dead". Some areas of the dash and instrument cluster gave a little life but not by much. The navigation system look slicker compared to the old model. The only thing that impressed me is the new safety features added. For me, i'll wait for the next model.
Only Mitsu car that looks competitive in the market is Lancer Evo. But it looks outdated recently.... I think EVO killer is GC because it offers almost same power and RWD with cheaper price... No hope for Mitsubishi...
people are taking idiotic talk for outlander. 1 thing they should know that this is not necessary that power packed performance must come with beauty ? take a look around you with so many examples.
Great attempt from Mitsu, until you realize damn near every other car is better. Even considering the base 26 grand asking price, jumping into the higher 20/lower 30 grand arena nets you all kinds of examples of higher powered, more efficient vehicles from every other company. Just another Mitusfail.

Thank you for that review
Don't need premium gas. I have one with 21,000 km. No problems. Great suv. Amazing in snow. Good power and handling.
I Think the Mitsubishi Outlander 2014 looks very nice and Mitsubishi Is getting back to the Figth bringing new Models to the brand.
Zack Spencer always does a great job. Driving Television is one of my favorite tv shows.
i went up always to 122mph on my gt v6...very stable on a vehicle like this. great job on the handling. thats what i like about the mitsu..uded to own 2 evos, 8&10. i love mitsu....

He didn't even talk about the trick 4 wheel drive system. This makes it special and makes it different than any other small SUV on sale.

Atleast they kept the ground clearance decent for winter driving and off roading.

This is best review for outlander. Looking for more reviews

It is a 2014 - just not out for sale yet in a lot of country's.
They made great sewing machines.
In between this one and the cx5 touring 2015, which one would be the best option?
I think they swapped the front of this with something more unisex. The exterior isn't anything too inspirational..it kinda looks like an Audi Q7 (or even a Cayenne??), but due to its many standard features and top notch safety, I wouldn't mind driving it.
i think it looks better than the rav 4, cx5 and especially the CRV! I mean i hated the back of the CRV, it looks like a hunchback or something

Very clean and conservative. I don`t mind it.
I love this suv
Excellent review Thanks!
How can we get the spear key of this model
Is this really a "compact crossover" considering it has 3rd row seating? I was thinking it would compete more with the CX-7, the bigger Santa Fe, Pathfinder, and the Tribeca.
it's definitively not the same size as a santa fe. smaller in every way.
They do not say on this ad that the V6 uses PREMIUM gas.
As though fuel isn't costly enough.
Bad choice Mitsubishi- you blew it.
2003 Mitsubishi Outlander owner.
Does not need premium. I use regular
the interior is an improvement... but that glossy piano black trim is just going to be a fingerprint magnet =(
What on earth is with those headrests? I thought they would change that by now!

Explorer ohahahahhahahahahhahahahahahahah. Ford that will be stranded on the road in the next 20,000 kms. Pathetic garbage.
what is there to fix???
its a 2014 outlander.
The car looks like it's depressed. From the back as well as the front. Really not an appealing design in my opinion.
Try imagining that the All new outlander in white and it'll look better.
What a BIG back step to Mitsubishi! The old SHARK design model was MUCH MUCH better! Too bad...

taxes
i think the gt would be more 28000 because it said on their website
you're not confusing Canadian money with US greenbacks are u? Big difference... Evos in Canada go for about 50k... they start at 34k this side of the continent
$38,000 FOR THAT?! NO THANK YOU!!!

the white base model car in the video 04:14 looks like a stormtrooper

For that price you can vet a 2013 Buick Enclave CXL AWD. Mitsubishi is still charging too much. Especially for a 4 cyl.
I don't think this car looks ugly.
Only Mitsu car that looks competitive in the market is Lancer Evo. But it looks outdated recently.... I think EVO killer is GC because it offers almost same power and RWD with cheaper price... No hope for Mitsubishi...
Put the interior of this one in the 2013 model!
Some of us like anonymous Asian cars lol.
people are taking idiotic talk for outlander. 1 thing they should know that this is not necessary that power packed performance must come with beauty ? take a look around you with so many examples.
The old outlander looked 10X better
So why the F is it 2014 if its allready out? We're not even halfway through 2013...
So why does it say Premium?
See what you engine is like after a few more miles. Silly mistake Mit!
Sadly, the only good things Mitsubishi has done over the years are AWD sports cars and WWII fighter planes.
There's no CX-7 anymore
Lol...$38k..??? You can walk into a Beemer dealership and walk out with an x1 for that price..
I just built one on their website and it was 31 with the premium package and 34 with the touring. Not sure where the 38 came from.
My 08 looks much better. It's like they took the one I have and exposed the front to severe heat to cause it to warp.
Como no aseunas pubricasion en castellano yo tengo 2014 y

Definitely a step backwards in the looks department. What a lumpy looking mess.
Mitsubishi out of business? Do you even know what Mitsubishi is about?
Please educate yourself. Google on Mitsu rally. You might learn some interesting facts about Mitsubishi.
I hate it, i wouldn't waste my money on a Mitsubishi!!
This thing is hideous... looks like it was designed 20 years ago. No thanks, I'll buy a leftover 2013 instead!
disappointed in the looks. like it came out of 1992....
Dint know they make toasters this big, what a lame looking vehicle...
is mitsubishi trying to ruin their company? looks like a Chinese third world rental car
dookie over head cam system
Wow why did they make it look so ugly...
Ugh dont like
This car is terrible
