    Cool. Thats the way to do it. All the boring bits in a van and the bikes for the twisty bits. Perfect bikes for that kind of trip too. Must have been great fun.

      JPSV it was an amazing trip! Trip of a lifetime! :) thanks for your comment. Get a few 'proper' bikers calling it cheating but we've done trips just on the bikes through Europe, just wanted to take the van this time and what a good idea it was 😊

      I cant understand that proper biker attitude. I have hauled camping gear all over Europe on a bike. Its a pain a lot of the time. Using a van you can take bikes more suited to the mountains where all the fun is. Vans are nicer to drive distances. You can share the driving, chat, map read, eat and relax while covering big miles. If you are camping you can also take a bigger tent and something to sit on! Worth checking out the Cevennes area if you are in France. Great roads, stunning scenery, really quiet and perfect for your bikes. Oh and that big bridge is worth a visit too!

      Sounds amazing!!! That definitely sounds like a future route!! Ahh a man after my own heart! I think the Pyrenees are next so i'll document that trip too 😊 thanks again!

      The Pyrennes are brilliant. Collada de Toses is a great twisty road on the spanish side wld be great fun on either of these bikes. We usually dont make bookings and follow the weather from the forecast as its difficult to predict in the mountains. A tip that might come in handy... Spa towns always have a good supply of cheap, decent hotels, and there are loads of them all over France.

      Just checked out your travel article on your website. Very good read. Well written, Interesting and informative and nicely interspersed with cool pictures. Must have taken some time to put together... and to remember all the trip! I look fwd to reading more about your adventures. Without wishing to sound like an old sage... (I have been on the biking drug for 38 years!) If you need any help with places to go in France for your future trips I would be happy to help with nice places I have found. I thought that i was passionate about biking! You and your boyfriend are really passionate about life on two wheels and are making some interesting vlogs. All the best.

    Some great looking roads there!!! We're hoping to get a few of those passes covered on a trip this summer. Although I'm not too sure about the Nürburgring haha... it does looks fun all the same. 😃

      Nathan The Biker the roads are insaneeeee! So smooth and flowy! It's just another world out there! Oh and the nürburgring is fine as long as you have mirrors, use them, dont try to be the hero (you cant take the racing lines because a faster car will splat you lol) and just do it at your own pace :)

    That trip looked awesome apart from the wet and cold bit. What gloves are you using? They look very comfortable.

    Would you recommend the 690, in terms of reliability?
    It's this or a street triple for me.

    • @UsernameKate
      @UsernameKate  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      690 for character, street triple for speed. Whatever is more important to you.. roll with that 👍

    These are zur Two Bikes I am currently interested in. how do you and your boyfriend compare them? which are the advantages and disadvantages of the two bikes, especially on mountain twisties as in your video? can't wait for the season to start :) Cheers, Dan

    • @UsernameKate
      @UsernameKate  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      watchdancing my ktm 690 is 147kg, so its super light it is also 830mm and very tall, mikes is 180kg and even taller, but mine is 80 bhp with an akra fulls system and map, and mikes is 115bhp. They are both brilliant bikes, but my top end can be fruatrating on mine.

    • @watchdancing
      @watchdancing 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Kate, thank you for your kind answer. I know the 690 and ride one myself. It is a lot of fun but also a lot of shifting. What does your boyfriend like about his hyper? I mean, he can not really use the power advantage because he rides with a slower bike and in the twisties power isn't that important after all. Regards

      watchdancing he screws this bike like crazy 😂 check him on instagram hypermotardmike. He loves the bike. Said it is the best bike he has ever owned :)

      I testrode a 939 hyper recently. Will keep my 690 for another season but the hyper will most likely replace it...had a lot of fun with it.

    Lovely video. But can I suggest you do your IAM. Please put your mirrors back. Some of your road Discipline needs a little work. Otherwise great video. I have done over 150.000 in Europe and cannot wait to back out there.

      IAM Means nothing to me, have spent a lot of miles, most good but plenty useless. They were the reason i left my club constantly exercising their imaged superiority, criticising people ‘ road craft’ is way out of date. Riding is about pleasure as much as safety. The yellow vested IAMS are slow and jealous of other riders who they cant compete with so ride very slow and criticise those who dont like to. IMO

      @jjcglobalapplestv7529 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      michael thompson the road is not a race track. I’m just saying be careful. Ride safe have fun

    • @volt8684
      @volt8684 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      JJ C I never said it was a race track but expected the “ lecturing” type reply of an IAM person. Some are very good but doing your IAM is not bomb proof. This lady is afab rider IMO and others opinions and a lot of experience despite her youthful looks if you read her site. I have taken advanced riding courses - had to requalify manytimes which has a definate fail rate. I have ridden with clueless riders who do their IAM and miraculously pass. The IAM might be good for some but means nowt to me. This girl can ride per se. None of us have a mistakeless ride every if any time. She is a light of the hobby. Stop lecturing and get on with your sad serious outlook on riding. Have you seen her road discipline on the nurburgring - plenty of praise from fun loving bikers. Your condescending superior attitude ranks of the IA bloody M and certain police riders

      michael thompson, I’m not here to have an online fight. My comments where only a A suggestion for a little bit more knowledge. I mean no insults or harm just being helpful sorry if I’ve upset you. Ride safe have fun
