honestly ive trashed hundreds of songs bc when i try to think about myself and how i feel it discourages me. i can never put my feeling into words. i can write soke bs with a hook and verse for some views but i’ve been on break for 2 years trying to find myself really

I always get tired of the beat after hearing it over and over again and the vibe never comes back
I had the same problem for a while. I usual write a lil bit on the first few listens then pause it and try and just keep the flow while writing. Then ill put the beat back on and see if it works.

write as much you can on that beat that you like . then when u feel stagnant. come back to it. you might see something new the next time

I make my own beats, mix my own vocals, and do my own covers. I think what stonewalls me is that I think too much about the finished product instead of enjoying the process of creating. I get hella anxious tryna make sure everything is polished, I end up getting burnt out really early

For me it's flow. I'm a r&b singer and it's flow and how to sing the song...I'm aware that it should be in your range but that's my struggle. .good with lyrical content.

What i mean is i can't sing
I find beats and then make a hook...then come back some time later and make a verse..then all of a sudden I don’t know else put in my next verse. So now most of my songs are unfinished
What you could do is throw like a bridge after the 2nd chorus and jump back Into the chorus. Most songs today don’t really need a 2nd verse. You can be creative and piece together something different
Try doing it all in one sitting I recommend

Often, I find myself just blank in terms of the melody or the lyrics. I've got good instrumentals but I feel like no melody is good enough for the track and so I keep discarding them. I once ended up with nearly 50 versions of a chorus and then I just ran out of steam and the song went back on the shelf. Most of my songs remain incomplete because I keep discarding ideas for not being good enough. It's like an insecurity growing to be a paranoia.
I'd finish the day with something I like but when I listen to it the next day, I don't like it as much. Is that normal? And then I end up chasing the next melody. Where do you draw a line when it comes to the self-critic?
It’s normal to doubt yourself or think the songs aren’t good enough. From what I’ve read I’d suggest you stop worrying about it not being good enough and finish a song even if the song isn’t good because you don’t have to put everything you record out. The goal should be to get consistent with finishing a song because you can always improve the writing and melody. You’re always going to be hard on yourself but that’s natural but it’s okay to not be perfect. Sometimes it’s better to freewrite or just record top line to find hidden inspiration or lines that connect with a song. But the goal short term is to not be so hard on yourself and get into the habit of finishing songs

Funny enough I know all these tips, I legit do write down lyrics, metaphors etc and add them whenever I’m writing a new song, I think my problem is time and confidence. I definitely feel less than when I can’t write a song in 10 mins, I feel worthless like why am I doing this? And then that’s where the lack of confidence follows through. Also trying to write less lyrics and sound less masculine in the way I form my words. I’m really trying I don’t want to give up …

Don’t change the topic. More like switch the melody of the next verse.
Sometimes I’ll write a verse and want to stick to a certain topic let’s say for the first 8 bars, but abt 6 bars in I’ll run out of word that allow me to stay on the topic as while rhyming at the same timeZ

I think I'm good at creating melodies, but when it comes to lyrics i lack.
The lyrics I tend to write usually take alot of words in every verse but fit good on beat and with good rhythm. In your opinion. Do you think Im wrong for that? Most songs these days are fairly simple lyrically but with a hardbeat. However Im from the southern border of Texas and lyrics Is a huge deal In Texas so Im stuck In Idea. Id appreciate your input

i struggle with writing hooks, i can drop verses all day and i can sing really well but its hard to fit my singing into a song because i cant seem to match up the styles, and i struggle with writing to flows that i come up with in freestyles, my freestyle flow is immaculate but i cant seem to fit words into it without changing it

@@SKYJORDXN i like any type of beat that has a really good flowing melody and is bouncy, my favorite though are storytelling type beats, and emotional type beats, since they put me in a specific mood that i'm going for, but the melody is what inspires me so it has to be on point, but i am a producer so i can make the beat and lyrics together and manipulate them any way i want, just started dabbling with autotune unlimited too

I need help with coming u with hooks and turning my self into a melodic rapper I got the trap part down I can spit for days idk how to just put a quick hook together like I wrote a few hooks by myself but I want to be able to think of one in like 30 mins before I go to my verse that is the legit only prob I have and what is stopping my career from taking off
haven't gone to school in a year and i forgot what hyperbole is
I would have a concept and write some lyrics, but I find myself getting stuck on what to add next, and by that point, the lyrics don't fully convey what I imagined and it's extremely forced and corny.
