    Back when I used to practice martial arts our sensei told us “You can’t judge another person’s pain” - I’ve found this to be a useful touch point in my own experience with mental and physical health.
    Please don’t ever feel that you have to downplay how you feel, and the challenges you’ve been dealing with.

      Also Billie and Sierra have talked a bit about the unsettled time waiting for their new boat. And from Ran Sailing and MJ Sailing you can and even Sampson boat Company, you can see that folks building boats themselves need a break from the "slow process" of getting a new boat.

      I enjoyed Nick's posts on the boat build and life in Vietnam. He did a great job. His enthusiasm was so genuine and so refreshing in contrast to other channels I watch where the strain of waiting for the new boat and the struggle to generate content is clearly taking its toll. I agree that towards the last few months as delivery was delayed I kept wondering how he maintained his enthusiasm. Maybe the beautiful woodwork and craftsmanship was enough. I'm really looking forward to you both being back on board and seeing the boat in all her glory.

  • @jrp616
    @jrp616 ปีที่แล้ว +44

    We definitely missed your smiling face and are glad you're back. You're not the only one who was less than enthusiastic about the never ending boat building content. I also understand that the heat & humidity of summer in Vietnam is almost unbearable. Lets go sailing :)

    • @WhatAboutTheBee
      @WhatAboutTheBee ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I was fine with the boat building content at first. It was an excellent counterpoint to Tally Ho and Leo's traditional build. Yet while Leo's build continues to fascinate, I found myself not so interested in this build as the episodes continued to pile up. I'm glad I watched. I'm glad its over.
      Time for some adventure. Time for some sailing.

    Just wanting to say: TEREYSA: What a powerful gift you have given us with this video. Thank you for that, for your honesty, your vulnerability, For sharing your raw truth, and equally your gratitude for the privilege you find yourself in. Tears fell, listening to you speak. I think it's hard to overestimate the impact of the pandemic on us all, of our habit to isolate, and our difficulty finding stride since then. May the new boat be everything you dream of, and may it bring you and Nick together into the same joyful realm, where you can explore and discover the world together in this next new chapter.

    Burnout is a real thing. I can't imagine being without my home and a firm base for that long. I'm so, so glad that you two were able to navigate that without losing hold of one another and your dream. Your man loves you, Ms Terysa. We could see that every time he spoke of you but the day he spoke of having you home... well, Nick does brusque. And Nick does technical and brainy and energetic. But we don't see tender out of him. That day, we saw tender. He's so happy to have you back and have a home together with you, on the water and adventuring again. Who knew he was a closet mush? lol I know it's been a few days since this, so I hope she's all you both ever dreamed of. Welcome home!

    Welcome back, it's great to reconnect. Honestly, I've also found myself less immersed in the building process lately. What truly excites me is envisioning you two embarking on your dream voyage, sailing the world in that impressive vessel. The fact that this lifestyle can lead to burnout doesn't surprise me - I'm no stranger to it myself and often need to switch gears, just like you've done by returning to your Australian roots. Australia is truly an amazing country.
    Your candid reflections resonate with me, and this juncture feels special - a pivotal point where you're faced with a choice. These moments, when you tread the less-traveled path, are the ones I cherish most in life. So, go ahead and forge those unforgettable memories. You have my support and admiration. Much love to both of you.

    Well done Terysa! it's great that you are back filming again, and putting some difficult times behind you. The silence and calm of that first anchor on RR2 will be a wonderful start to a new chapter! Take care.

    Great to see you back and I reckon some of us have been on that restless journey too. Good reflection on identifying what wasn't working and took a break to reset but the time has come to get out on the big blue again. Just as excited as you guys are for your next adventures, which I'm sure is echoed throughout the comments.

    It is clear that Nick became very focussed on the build. In the nicest way (i am subscribed and did watch them all) he produced the worlds longest seawind advert!. It is good to see you back. Please make some sailing content soon. The boat tour etc can wait. .

    It’s great to have you back. I have enjoyed watching the new build but that is the engineer in me. I’m sure there are many subscribers that prefer the sailing content. I look forward to seeing you in front of the camera and watching you and Nick explore the world in your new home.

    I totally get it. The last 12 months have been "the perfect storm" for you: emerging from the isolation of the pandemic into the isolation of the delayed boat build, the isolation of an apartment in HCM city, the tinged feelings of personal isolation when one's partner's track diverges some.. after running parallel for so long, not feeling attuned with your product and thus isolated from your audience. You did the right thing returning to Australia, reconnecting with something else, so that you have recharged the batteries for the next chapter. The start will not be easy. Handovers of a new build , especially of a newish design, never go quite as planned. But you will get there. Best from everyone on S/V Uhuru

    I can empathize with the feelings of needing the stability of a home base, being in a place where you feel you belong and are loved and having a fulfilling sense of purpose. Glad you are back, be kind to yourself. We are cheering you both (and RR2) on! 🎉

    Any growth of Children or Channels, Gardens, Trees, or business or Relationships come with challenges and uncertainties. As Ruby Rose was the first Sailing Vlog/ Channel I began to follow shortly before my Retirement....and as a Retiree, (Yes, following even before Saling La Vagabond AND SV Delos) I often wondered where is Terysa has got off to, also mindful if it was us, viewers and followers business or concern, it will be shared. I am not one to pry into the personal life of Creators so I never inquired as to where Terysa has gone, knowing that someday all will be revealed. Words can not express my happiness that this day has come to be brought up to date. Look forward immensely to watching this new chapter of Ruby Rose unfold! GOOD ON YA! You, Nick and Ruby Rose 2! Much Love!
