If I'm breaking a saw in I run 32:1 otherwise 40:1

All of those will help you get the heat out. I use my G660 for felling and bucking so I’m sure I don’t generate near the heat you do milling.

Will a Stihl head work ?

Should fit, this saw is a Stihl 660 clone and everything is made to the specs of Stihl, many parts that I've replaced were with Stihl OEM parts, with the exception of the head and piston which is aftermarket Stihl compatible big bore kit
