I love when beautiful orangutans ask people to show them their babies or let them sit with them. It’s such an organic, gorgeous moment that should always teach us a lot about how we should be living.

I wish some of these people would get over themselves and just think a bit. You do realize that many wild animals end up starved, no water, killed, poached, chopped up for food in the wilderness and nature. Unless you are at the top of the food chain, you are hunted and live a very stressful life.

You can be right in so many ways, but I see it a bit differently. These animals are well treated and placed in an environment much like their own habitat. They are well fed and receive the very best medical care. They have room to move around and explore so are not maintained in cages. They are kept safe and healthy in a restricted environment. These animals appear to be very happy and secure. If any of the animals show signs of depression, the specialists deal with it immediately. In my opinion, most, if not all, of these animals would be dead or severely maimed if they lived in the wild. They lead a very nice life in the zoo.

I feel an incredible intimacy or closeness with these amazing creatures. I wonder if they feel the same or despise us. I guess if we actually had empathy we could imagine ourselves being in their zoo, being their captives. Maybe they just love the free food and shelter...but I highly doubt it.

The walking back and forth it's doing is a sign that it's going insane from being caged alot of zoo animals do this to try and cope with being confined. Seeing them as comic relief bothers me. Yes, they're amusing but more in the 'OMG, they're almost us!", fascination rather than "look at the dumb monkey". Nothing dumb about them. More humans should aspire to be as lighthearted and as generous as these furry people. Their tenderness and playfulness is something to aspire to.

Some behaviour has probably been beaten in to the animals to perform. Some are captive after terrible things have probably happened to them and their parents. Please look beyond what you see and act accordingly.

I was wondering about that. It's a strict no in my country. Zoo authorities do not let anyone take any food inside. And there are notice board reminding people to not feed animals. Nor disturb them. One doesn't have bad intentions. Feeding them at wrong time or things that don't suit them may result in health issues to animals. Also sometimes when too familiar with humans, they become aggressive leading to other problems.

Would you do the primates a favor and not compile elements that are truly intimidating them like the fruit and peanut on dashboard of car. Thanks Keep up the good work.

as others have said, that pacing up and down is a sign of distress. IT IS NOT FUNNY ! These animals are bored. Monkeys and apes are highly intelligent. More so than most humans !!

Quelle tristesse de voir ces animaux derrière des vitres 😭.
Imaginez des hommes enfermés dans des cages à tourner en rond, c'est à devenir fou et mourir de chagrin 💔

I don’t think I would appreciate all these zoos with defects to the cages, even though they are small now….
Doesn’t show a lot of maintenance, which makes me wonder how safe these cages still are………

I agree wit zoo's as long as the animals are well cared for, it's the only way ordinary people get to see them, if I hadn't gone to a zoo I would never see elephant and camels in the wild otherwise.
