North Sheen Level Crossing

Saturday June 17 2017 at 5.52am. The 2nd train of the morning, the 5.38 Strawberry Hill to Waterloo (6.16) slowing as it heads towards North Sheen station. This crossing was filmed in 2011. 105 seconds of the wait here was cut so the barriers were lowered for about three and a half minutes before the train arrived. Much too long. Last month Jeremy Vine (of BBC fame) uploaded a video of a cyclist lifting his bike over the barrier here, walking through it himself and stopping only as a train went past on the far track. People will do crazy things if Network Rail lower barriers when trains are nowhere near.

This level crossing is so fucking shit! It goes down 5 minutes before a train is anywhere near creating huge traffic and pollution due to the traffic
