    What is center of rigidity?
    Center of rigidity is the stiffness centroid within a floor-diaphragm plan.
    Center of Mass
    It is the average position of all the parts of the system, weighted according to their masses
    Check in CSI ETABS
    During analysis, ETABS automatically calculates this coordinate for each floor diaphragm. The diaphragm assignment must be present in the model. Center of rigidity and center of mass are then displayed by selecting Display --)) Show Tables --)) Analysis --)) Results --)) Structural Results --)) Centers of Mass and Rigidity --)) OK.

    say ex/Dx = 14% , will you change the eccentricity in model for Ex & Ey or just take values from torsional irregularities check?

      @@civilmdc Hello Hussain...I hope you doing well..the clause which you have mentioned as per ASCE is oK..is there any clause in UBC-97 for the eccentricity check. I tried to find out what I see is the accidental eccentricity is given which is 5%...Could you please let me know have you came across the clause for the center of rigidity in UBC-97..I appreciate your response.

    If table C.R is not available in output etabs, what is wrong? My Analisis is incorrect or my model is wrong? And what definitions is C.R?

    What if eccentricity results is not okay? And why there is need for check eccentricity?

      With presence of eccentricity....
      Forces amplify....
      Solution...
      You have to increase the column sizes ... On that part of the building ... Which is week ....
      Or you can provide ... Shear walls

      Dear bro, eccentricity result amplification of forces, we should avoid by adjusting structural elements....
      PLEASE READ THIS....IS 1893 (Part 1): 2002, Clause 7.9.2.

      You have to re-arrange structural members
      Or place the concrete wall on other sides

      @@syedsohail1324 Dear, Normally we assign our slabs rigid diaphragm ... (almost 95 % our slabs are rigid.)

      ​@@civilmdc To consider torsional irregularity we need to assign diaphragm as non-rigid ( semi rigid )
