Hello, I watched this a few weeks ago for a job application to my dream job. I am just coming back to the video to say THANK YOU - I have been offered an interview based on my application and my results in this test! Amazing content thank you so much!
'Dont let your subjective judgement influence objective evaluation' Thanks for uploading this, it's been very helpful. I have a test now to complete within 48 hours and i truly hope i am able to ace the test.
I tried to answer all questions. I did well with most, but not with the Deductions question. Why does the "Conclusion not follow"? Does the word "most" not imply that others do more than just SEO and web design, thus implying that some focus on segmentation and data management? Or is that deduction rendered improbable by the second sentence which reveals efforts in segmentation and data management as important for success without stating that they are the only other important routes to success?
I'll try to answer this, I'm sorry it was not clear from the video. Your task is to decide if the conclusion follows from the statement given, or if the conclusion does not follow. For the conclusion to follow, it must be deduced from the statement. In the test instructions, it specifically stated that your task is to decide if the conclusion *necessarily* follows from the statements. The word "most" does imply that other companies focus on other things than SEO and web design. However, it does not mention what things exactly. It is *probable* that some companies focus on segmentations and data management, but you cannot logically deduce that from the statement. Other comapnies might devote their efforts in Analytics and User Experience, for example. You cannot be certain from the statement that some companies devote their efforts to segmentation or to data management. Therefore, the conclusion does not *necessarily* follow from the statement
@@JobtestprepUk great video! However I am also slightly confused on this question. It states that ‘segmentation and data management are far more important to achieve such success’. Therefore this means that companies have devoted their time to segmentation or data management otherwise how would it be proved that segmentation and data management are more important to achieve success in the first place?
LoL... if you ever were to design a test that would make engineers extremely uncomfortable it would be this test. We don't think in terms of 'probably true or probably false'. STEM doesn't function in those terms. Also the 'critical thinking' piece... yeah... lawyer the whole way. Engineers are trained to think in 'edge cases' otherwise BCP and DR wouldn't be a thing. I'm glad I watched this video before I took my first WG as if I had taken it cold I would have just been completely frustrated.
does anyone know what are qualifying marks/questions that need to be attempted out of 40 for clearing watson glaser test?? i left 5 questions..since i ran out of time :(
A good score on the Watson Glaser is normally at the top 20% of test-takers, (the 80th percentile - better than 80% of test-takers). However, that score may differ according to the job you apply to. For instance, a score of 28/40 is better than 79% of the general population, 69% of managers, and only 49% of law graduates. Based on our experience, to rank in the 80th percentile of the most desirable positions like managers and lawyers, it is recommended to get at least 33-34 correct answers out of 40.
In addition, note that no scores are reduced for wrong answers. Therefore, it is better to guess the answer to a question than to leave it blank, especially by the end of the test, when time is of the essence.
Utterly flopped on strong/weak argument regarding an employer requiring 60 day notice. Seems to require some real world experience or deep empathy as to how an employee would perform during their remaining 2 months. Of course, the law is flawed for reasons beyond employee productivity. Why should the new company have to suffer 2 months of lost productivity while the "newly hired" person is trapped in their old position? Also, the "old employer" will suffer because the departing employee will be secretly preparing for employment with the new company and dedicating less attention to current job. In addition the onboarding time for new employee at the receiving employer may be longer, especially in a rapidly changing industry, since they will have more to learn due to 2 month delay...etc.
