I bought one of these as a gift for my grandmother back when they were being sold new. I was unawear it was anything special at the time. When she passed away I got it back, and it is in as good a shape as yours. I'm retired now and this radio has inspired a new hobby for me collecting radios and Dx-ing the AM broadcast band. My biggest fear is that the AM band may soon go all digital and render them all useless!
I got a GE 7-2880B from E Bay years ago. It is sitting on the kitchen table bringing in radio stations from a great distance, I recommend that radio particularly if you enjoy medium wave (550 to 1600 khz) radio
Have to watch out for the copywrite police. There are many demonstrations on TH-cam. It is a very good radio on AM second only to the Panasonic 2200 on DXing. However the Superradio II has better sound than the 2200, in my opinion.
you could of turned it on and scanned both bands...like what are they really going to do, they smash windows, loot stores in california shoot kill every day and nobody cares and they are going to arrest someone for scanning a radio dial on line...smh
Yea they will get you on TH-cam. There are people out there that troll it and report you. Sad..... Radio still working great. About as good as my Panasonic 2200.
@@thomasniner001 there are many videos on here where people scan dials and stay on stations for quite awile..dont let them bully you, they cannot do anything, just sayin'
@@vietnamcombatveteran2274 Nobody's talking about arresting anyone, the only problem you will have is if your video contains a copyrighted song that plays for more than 10 seconds. Even then, they'll usually let you keep it up, but they'll put ads on it so they can pay royalties to the musician. My channel is full of copyrighted music, and there's no problem. You just can't make any money from your channel if you do that. The money goes to the musician.
This radio you have repaired instead of having it replaced. Definitely on the short list of transistor radio GOATS

I used black Testor's model paint on the black grille with good results.
