You know... never realized how awesome a salvage yard would be to make repair guide videos.

For those asking: the bulbs are either EWG 203 or GE 74

You saved me an hours worth of frustration and maybee a couple of band aids to.
I used the sylvania 74 mini bulb, and found that when inserted, it was a little loose.
I used a very small flat head screw driver and bent the tabs in just enough to snug it
    up.

Very informative videos, thanks! I have a 1993 Prizm, the radio is similar to that of the 2nd car in this video. The back lighting is nearly nonexistent on the right side, Is that a bulb that can easily be changed?

I had to do this last summer on my Honda Pilot, which was kind of a pain only because I had to get 3 bulbs from Honda at a total of about $21. But I got the job done!

I hate those darn bulbs on the Corolla. Extremely common failure. I was lucky enough to find the right size replacements at Walmart... YMMV though.

looks easy enough, im also a lover of magnetic tools :-), ive even been known to use bluetack to keep the screw on the driver when guiding down deep holes.
Im sure manufacturers dont think about repairing cars.
Shame they didnt use a few more brain cells and let the thin fasia pop off to access the bulbs, far easyer :-)
    Good vid :-)

I am replacing the bulbs on my 2002 Corolla,I did get the top part of the panel off but in the process I dropped the screw on the right side of those controls down inside the center console,, I didn't use a magnetic screwdriver, do you know what size it is? If I have to I will go to a junk yard and pull one.

Don't use the Sylvania 74 bulbs. They are slightly too wide to fit in the socket. If they are the only ones you can find, you can use a file to cut back on the glass. It is tricky and hard but it can be done.

Vehicles have a dimmer control on the dash that will adjust the main illuminating bulbs i would check that first.

it was a real doozy!!! I probably should've just resorted to Ebay from the beginning. At the time I was mostly concerned about getting the right bulbs and ones that would last. In the end, I really didn't save any time or money at all! :(

Wasn't that fun?! I just did that to my '05 Pilot. I tried using using some mico-bulbs from Radio Shack , but there are two different sizes in there. Got a "correct" set off of Ebay for about $20 and replaced them all.
