You know... never realized how awesome a salvage yard would be to make repair guide videos.
For those asking: the bulbs are either EWG 203 or GE 74
You saved me an hours worth of frustration and maybee a couple of band aids to.
I used the sylvania 74 mini bulb, and found that when inserted, it was a little loose.
I used a very small flat head screw driver and bent the tabs in just enough to snug it
up.
Great video, just followed your instructions and worked great!!
Thanks.
Detailed explanation, very helpful.Thank you.
Very informative video, thanks man.
Very informative videos, thanks! I have a 1993 Prizm, the radio is similar to that of the 2nd car in this video. The back lighting is nearly nonexistent on the right side, Is that a bulb that can easily be changed?
I had to do this last summer on my Honda Pilot, which was kind of a pain only because I had to get 3 bulbs from Honda at a total of about $21. But I got the job done!
thank you great help my brother
keep up those great tutorials God bless...
Excellent Video, thanks for the info. Any idea where can I get those bulbs? I can't find that EWG 203 anywhere.
Thanks!
hand stamp from the junkyard?
Thank you very much!
I hate those darn bulbs on the Corolla. Extremely common failure. I was lucky enough to find the right size replacements at Walmart... YMMV though.
looks easy enough, im also a lover of magnetic tools :-), ive even been known to use bluetack to keep the screw on the driver when guiding down deep holes.
Im sure manufacturers dont think about repairing cars.
Shame they didnt use a few more brain cells and let the thin fasia pop off to access the bulbs, far easyer :-)
Good vid :-)
Can you let us know what kind of bulbs do we need? I just replaced the main dashboard console lights and have 2 left over bulbs...will these fit?
Nevermind, I see you told us in the prizsm part.
How I find that black ac climate control? Been find it since 5 years
Perfect thank you
I am replacing the bulbs on my 2002 Corolla,I did get the top part of the panel off but in the process I dropped the screw on the right side of those controls down inside the center console,, I didn't use a magnetic screwdriver, do you know what size it is? If I have to I will go to a junk yard and pull one.
Off the top of my head i do not the size of the bolt.
Don't use the Sylvania 74 bulbs. They are slightly too wide to fit in the socket. If they are the only ones you can find, you can use a file to cut back on the glass. It is tricky and hard but it can be done.
question i left my car at my friends house .. and was wondering i went to pick it up today.. started it and left to my house and my climate control main light and speedometer light wasnt working did my lights most likely ... burn out .. or something with wiring ? PLEASE HELP??
Vehicles have a dimmer control on the dash that will adjust the main illuminating bulbs i would check that first.
can anyone tell me how many light bulb are their
Just 2. One on the left, and one on the right (like the video shown).
it was a real doozy!!! I probably should've just resorted to Ebay from the beginning. At the time I was mostly concerned about getting the right bulbs and ones that would last. In the end, I really didn't save any time or money at all! :(
Good job 101%
Wasn't that fun?! I just did that to my '05 Pilot. I tried using using some mico-bulbs from Radio Shack , but there are two different sizes in there. Got a "correct" set off of Ebay for about $20 and replaced them all.
Still no light ..
I went to the local Toyota dealer.
I was out clubbing.
You might be the only one....lol
