I'm watching this about 3 years later, so I know Linda made it through well, thank goodness. This also was an excellent nudge for me. I'm here alone in the Villages until early September in the processing of buying a new home here. This brought me up short that if I got sick I'd have no idea what facilities were associated with my insurance. I stopped everything and looked that up and printed a list. When I get back to my existing home I will contact my doctors there and see if they can recommended people here. I will need, at the least, a GP, a cardiologist, and a good dentist.

As a retired hospital pharmacist who worked in the ICU/CCU, I can tell you that having good comprehensive health care insurance is the most important thing to have in this life. Health Care will be the number one issue in 2020, and it should be. You can be as healthy as a bull today, and tomorrow in the ICU of some hospital. Believe me, I have seen it many times. Glad she is doing well. My prayers are with her.
wow. I am going back and looking at videos I have missed. As a retired RN I am ashamed to admit I haven't investigated the hospitals for myself yet. Been here since January....I have located a primary care and I am pleased. I have an appointment with an eye doctor but will be on the look out for dentist and hospital. Glad I saw this so I will get right on that. Glad Linda survived and is thriving.

I'm just watching this show and learning about Linda's health scare. It seems she has fully recovered I sure hope that is the case and for what it's worth my prayers are with you all. I am a minister and I believe in prayer and my faith to get me through everyday. God bless, Duane in Lexington.

Great video! So glad Linda is better. I live in The Villages. I’ve found the health care here questionable. Have been through 4 doctors in 4 years at Mulberry. Very frustrated. Management is awful. The new CEO as ofDec. 2018, Bob Trinh, may be a God send. Good doctors keep leaving. And prayers are coming Linda’s way for sure🙏
Linda and Jerry, my thoughts and prayers are with you. Jerry, you looked like you were ready to cry. That is so sweet to see a man love his wife that much. Linda, maybe this was a sign from God that being in The Villages is where you belong. That hole in your heart didn't happen overnight and evidently no one else saw it. I'm glad that the doctors know what is wrong and can repair it. You will probably have more energy when you recover. Prayers 🙏🙏🙏 for you Monday.

I am so sorry to hear this happened guys. I had a stroke when I was 49 and i am 56 now and feeling great. So listen to your Dr's and you will be fine. Prayers coming your way for next week. Good luck and God bless.
Oh my. Just saw this. We arrived last Sunday, and didn't get cable/wifi until yesterday. Good to see Linda is recovering well. The move was quite an adventure. So sorry this happened, but I took your advice and made a Dr. appt today. It isn't until November, but I got it on the books. Take care, and maybe you'll see us 'now that we are down here'. We are in Pine Ridge.. 110 miles on the golf cart already.

So sweet! Best of luck! Love your dog. Always call 911! If you are suffering from a heart attack or a stroke, anything, the ambulance can start treatment on the way to a hospital, a car ride cannot! Always call 911. It saves lives.
I made 5 trips to the Villages and was very impressed. Ultimately I bought in Fort Myers recently. The Realtor I worked with in the Villages wife is a RN at the Villages Hospital and he spoke about how bad the Hospital was. Her advice was go to Gainesville. The running joke here in Minnesota where we have excellent Healthcare lead by the Mayo Clinic is...."What`s the first thing to do if you become sick and are able to travel...Get on a plane back to Minnesota."

Glad you are okay. I am thinking about moving there and I’m 55. Health insurance is a big concern for me. Great video. Praying for You both.

I've had three major health events in the last 2 years. All three were resolved in the care of the Villages Hospital. I have nothing but positive comments for the hospital and its staff. They are not cheap, but what hospital is. Take care of yourselves and hope all is well soon......

We are glad Linda is getting through this. She looks great! We just closed today in Marsh Bend. We plan on looking for healthcare very soon.

No one should have to worry about losing their life savings or that much money from a medical emergency. Prices in the US are absurd for healthcare.

I just saw this and oh such good advice. Didn't catch what Linda's issue was. You will be so happy when you turn 65 and are on Medicare. We took out AARP United Healthcare supplemental policy. Our physician (whom my husband trained) recommended this policy as it pays everything. My husband had a different supplement before this and it was terrible in comparison.
I have worried about Linda and looked each day for any reports on how she was doing!! You met my brother Billy and Susan shortly after you moved there. I’m so thankful she is doing better and I will definitely keep her in my prayers for her upcoming surgery procedure!!

Wow there are few ive missed and this is one. U are very lucky to have Jerry. Im on my own and passed out this past march. My problem was a bleeding ulcer. I was bleeding internally and could of died. Luckily god wasnt ready for me yet. I came to, called one of my lady friends and spent a week in the hospital w/4 bags of blood and surgery!
By the way, im glad u made it through the hurricane ok as my daughter Mercedes did as well. Prayers for the all of Florida as u recover.

Thank you for the great info, so sorry you had to learn through experience. Best wishes on the procedure, they have become fairly routine nowadays, my father had multiple stints and angioplasties over the years. Like you we are under 65, was not aware of the "network" situation. Perhaps one day they will fix health care in this country. All the best!
