I forgot to mention in the video but the pattern measurements were 40” bust and 43” hip. I didn’t adjust the top at all but of course added skirt panels. My measurements are 43” bust, 34/35” waist, and 52” hip. I hope this helps! Don’t forget, the recipe and the pattern are pictured over on ko-fi!
Thank you, this does help! I have many size 40 vintage patterns that I’ve been really nervous to use because there’s no way to know the amount of ease. My measurements are a little bigger than the size 40 patterns and I’d hate to make something that doesn’t fit from such beautiful patterns
I vote yes please go three the war time cook book!!! Love you short cuts with sewing you improvise and works your corkiness makes you who you are and that's why we love you. The view from your window stunning. All together I think this turned out beautiful. ...looks yummy Thanks for this video as always keep them coming !
Looks delicious, also just wanted to say thank you for sharing your happy bright personality with all of us. I love to see a vintage blogger who has 4 children, its inspiring 🙌
One: this dress is AMAZING!!! Two: those potatoes look spectacular (wish I wasn’t allergic to every nut in existence) Three: you are amazing and I love you! Enjoy your break!
Hello! I don’t comment much on TH-cam but have to take a moment to say I really enjoy what you’re doing here. You’re authentic and beautifully vulnerable! I love your cozy videos and feel inspired to continue being my vintage loving self. Thank you for making wonderful content 🌻🧡
You looked adorable in your re creation. It turned out great and your meal I wasn’t sure of till you cut into it and I was sold. Ps. Loved the baby talk. 🥰
Lmao I love the pumpkins as weights. I was using a rum decanter then when I was halfway done cutting I realized (Serena you are filming) 😂 but I’m also moving and I didn’t have time. Also bound buttonholes in my opinion works better on thicker fabrics than thin. That could have caused some extra stress. Try it on wool, twill until you get the hang of it. Your dress is so beautiful I adore it 😍😍😍
I'd love more cooking videos! I don't sew but I really enjoy your sewing videos because it takes me back to my childhood where my mother and grandmother would sew amazing things! You are so creative and talented❤
Good job on that dress! It looks lovely on you :) A note on the buttons; those are usually used for coats which is why they come larger and heavier duty. And I totally hear you on buttonholes...mine rarely come out right.
Oh yeah, I know they're coat buttons! But, they're the only buttons I had in my stash that looked decent with the dress so it's fine! I was trying not to go out and buy things for this project since I already have such a big stash of sewing items.
That looked delicious! That was in a WW2 cookbook? Seems decedent😲 And, you are adorable in that dress & earrings. And your hair😊 You make me happy, just the beauty of your videos💗 And now my dog is concerned about your baby😁 "I hear a baby; where is it?!"🐶 Please enjoy a pure, guilt free break💗✌🍁🍂🌌
I think this dress is my new all time favorite of your dresses, it's so darling 😍 I'm a newbie to sewing and a project like this will definitely be a long term goal 💕
Loved this video!! Love the pattern mixing and you look so beautiful 😍 Also, I love seeing you with your children ❤ You're so calming, I need to gain some patience back 🤣
I am going to try that recipe, Yum! Exciting to follow the other video participants on this challenge. Thanks for sharing. Cute dress by the way! Take time to chill for sure!
Yes I love seeing how you tackled the editing of this video! Enjoy your break the dress and recipe look so good. I feel you on being a sewing how it works best for you versus perfect.
The dress is adorable! I love the pumpkin pockets on the gingham! Also, I am definitely going to make those sweet potatoes! Thanks for the fun video! I hope you get some rest & relaxation during your break! See you soon :)
Love the dress! Once all this pandemic stuff is over I'm going to go take a sewing refresher class. Did you make the dish with one sweet potato and one yam? It looks yummy.
Yesss for a sewing refresher! I made the dish with... yes, probably. My husband picked up the sweet potatoes or yams or whichever they were, so I just used what I had

This is very helpful, thank you so much! I'm in the middle of attempting to size up a vintage pattern so this is right on time!
I really hope you do some videos with the 40's cookbook!

Two: those potatoes look spectacular (wish I wasn’t allergic to every nut in existence)
Three: you are amazing and I love you! Enjoy your break!
They’d be good without the nuts too! I mean sugar and butter ans sweet potatoes can’t really go wrong right? 😂 I love you!
You are a joy Kristina! God bless you! I love all your videos!
Thank you so much!
A series out of that cook book would be cool like a war time and then show the non wartime recipie to and compare them
Oh that's an interesting idea!

Yum! Those sweet potatoes/ cranberry mix looks awesome! I totally want to make that!
Always remember the point of making it yourself, is to make it for your body, personality, etc. It looks excellent too!
You looked adorable in your re creation. It turned out great and your meal I wasn’t sure of till you cut into it and I was sold. Ps. Loved the baby talk. 🥰
Everything from the food to the clothes look amazing! I agree with you about the buttons being annoying and I haven't even sewn a button hole yet
closures in general are the most annoying thing to sew, I'll never change my mind LOL
I love a Short Cut Queen!
It meeee! 😂 if there’s a shortcut I WILL take it
Your makeup is so gorgeous in this video!
haha yay for fake eyelashes! I haven't done them in forever, they're fun! Thank you!
This dress is a dream😻 and I adore all the cozy fall shots around your home ✨🍁

Cooking videos are fun! Because, y'know, I get to eat the food at the end ahaha! Thank you!
So adorable! I love the mix of sewing and cooking.. hits me right in the aesthetic. ☺️♥️♥️♥️

I had the same conundrum as you like “how am I supposed to meld these” lol. I loved your way!
My grandmother had an absolutely falling apart copy of that cookbook.
Dude we have so much in common (kids, WA, farmhouse, etc) that I shouldn’t be surprised, but I have the exact same sewing philosophy. 😂
So beautiful! ✨✨
Youre such a pleasure to watch and i enjoy your videos
Ahhh this video sounds lovely! And yes we would love to see more wartime cooking! I always buy allllll the old cookbooks and housekeeping books!
Haha me too, I have a hundred or so cookbooks and cookbooklets dating from the late 1800s to 1960!
@@WithLoveKristina 😍 That’s amazing! I have so many on my wish list!

And Yum! My mouth was watering at the end! ❤️
Omg this recipe surprised me! It was so delicious!
So pretty!
I tried bound button holes a couple of projects ago and same. They did not work out lol 😆
I am gonna have to practice a LOT for them to work 😂 or maybe never because I just can’t be bothered
wow, your dress came out Great, love it. 🎃❤
That looked so God! I'm going to try it!
I'm in love with this dress and dress pattern! Where did you pick up this lovely pattern!?
Child: *shriek*
You: CHILD, SHUSH.
Child: *shriek* but RHYTHMIC
lmaoooo she was like "ok we have a thing going here now right?"
Your dress is beautiful, well done, but I have to say it would look even better when it has had a press. Aside from that, you look great x x x
💋Beautiful! Great job! Continued Blessings and Support.~Love&Light♥️Carli
