I really don't see how trading the Rotpriest in that final game was the right move. It's not just how many ways you have to target your creatures, op gets a poison when any spell targets any of your creatures, so their tricks and fight spells sucked until Rotpriest was off the board.
same. went 0-3 with a deck similar to kenjis yday. thought it was a great deck, but lost to absurd aggro and removal. i get 3-4 removals if im very lucky on any given drafts... and these people were casting 3 or 4 in a single game.
I don't know of skitterlings going late is a good sign black is open, i see em going fairly late and i dont think a lot of toxic decks actually want them since they dont contribute to an aggro gameplan. The butt is nice for gumming up the ground but they feel more like a filler card to me in a lot of decks. Im not a big fan of this format but ive found the draft portions to be quite interesting. Since you really want to focus on having a synergistic deck, especially if you arent able to draft a bomb, i think it really incentivizes you to stay open as long as possible to find the right lane for your seat. Which for some drafts is easy but others becomes chaotic as all hell. Hoping to just build a deck of "good" cards doesnt seem to work out quite as well as in other formats (unless you just get a bunch of black removal)
I don’t know if you want my experience, but I’ve been having success forcing some combination of abzan poison. The w/g and w/b uncommon multicolor cards are so strong that even without bomb rares they can carry toxic aggro to victories
I really don't get the attack with the rotpriest in the 2nd game - he is so valuable lying there around. His passive Ability can win games pretty quick. That card is not for attacking/blocking whatsoever
Can someone explain why Vorrac is good? I always think getting just a land to put 3 cards at the bottom of library is not worth it, what if you put something good at the bottom?
Although putting good stuff at the bottom feels bad, you could just as easily be putting bad stuff on the bottom and letting good stuff come to the top. Sort of like shuffling your library, the outcome is mostly neutral...But you're up by 1 land!
And you know whether specific cards are on the bottom and can plan accordingly. Also it is a very good card stats wise, a 3/3 for 3 with upside is just good. And the last point in favor of it: it gives you options, you don't have to take the land if you don't want or can't find any and proliferate is mostly good for you
Because it's really really really really REALLY not a format designed to play in bo1. Just look at Numot's games on MTGO in the other channel, where he's undefeated in bo3 while drafting the same things and playing the same way.

I pass skiterling everytime.
Whenever I'm mid diamond my games seem to flood out a lot more than lower tiers. I'm convinced it's game designed this way to encourage the grind 😜

yeah, i really dislike this format. it feels impossible to get back from behind. even in sealed its so fast (and i almost never play over cmc 2.5)
The new set is weird. Nothing really synergizes with the other sets its like you have those two toxic decks and thats it.
