      What amplifier do you have with them? I have a McIntosh MC 901. How are things going with them?

      Thank you Klarash, Il Cremonese are as beautiful sounding as they are beautiful looking. The good news is that sophisticated engineering projects like this often teach the engineering team lessons they can apply to lesser priced goods. Products like these and Aida II are part of why the Lumina series sounds and looks as good as it does

    Have you heard the lilium, whats your take in them compared to the cremonese?

    • @GramophoneMD
      @GramophoneMD  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven't yet, though I should be getting in front of Aidas in a few months which I'm stoked about. Now from what I've heard from others who have is that the current Il Cremonese is quite close to the Lilium.

    I see these speakers used for about $30,000 after being used for a couple years, does this mean they're very overpriced at 55,000? Just seems kind of weird. The voice I like the speakers a lot and would like to get them but I just don't wanna overpay for something

      Hello Iam, we're big fans of Il Cremonese, and have them on display here in Timonium. As with the auto market, it's not unusual to see used speakers selling for 40 - 50% off what they sold for new

    Luke… what you’re recommended Amp to drive these. MC1.25 ?

    • @GramophoneMD
      @GramophoneMD  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That would probably be ideal, but we have them on MC611s and they sound good, I'd also consider MC3500s as they might be best overall sounding Mac amp in terms of timbre, and 350 watts but with that extra few dB of headroom with tubes is still pretty good.

    I heard the cheaper last gen olympica stuff though it was meh as well as the older Stradivari that was meh and had rolled off highs and lows.
    I wonder if they fixed them with these? Do they have more resolution and more bass finally?

    • @GramophoneMD
      @GramophoneMD  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Personally I think it is one of the best speakers I've ever heard.

      I disagree, I’ve heard some very pricey systems, and Sonus Faber with McIntosh is a real contender. It’s a rather foolproof pairing.

    • @GramophoneMD
      @GramophoneMD  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mac is most definitely high end two channel, that's where they got their start to begin with, and their highest product lines available today are dedicated to two channel. Such as pieces like the C12000, or MC2K, or MC3500.

    Nice speakers,I’ll never be a fool to spend money like that,but it’s not that I can’t afford it,I made my money not being stupid with it,and no one is more uneducated about audio than a salesman,no sound is worth these ripoff prices,just for fools

    • @GramophoneMD

      If you are worried about value, then you should understand that Hi-Fi is actually a decent store of it. Great speakers hold their value and McIntosh products are an especially good example. There may be a high cost of entry but this hobby really doesn't outright lose you money/value. People ask me why they'd spend a new car's amount of money on this, my reply is always "because car's are a horrible investment, Hi-Fi is not."
