Beautiful video of the Berlin summer in Alex Platz, beautiful memories for me. It is evident that at that time people did not walk with masks or anything like that on the street. And manifestations such as the one shown constitute an increased risk of contagion. Glad to see the video on a bright, beautiful day in my favorite city in the world.
3 things that remained in AlexanderPlatz since the collapse of the wall:- 1. Berliner Fernsehturm (TV Tower) 2. World Time Clock 3. The Berlin Stadt Hotel (now called Park Inn Hotel) The above are a history of the old/long gone DDR (GDR) Glad to have visited DDR back in the day when it was Raw
i visited east and west berlin in spring 1981. alexanderplatz i found much more interesting at that time as compared to how it appears to be in this video. the view looking down from up in the tv tower is very interesting, as i recall. presumably, there is still a restaurant up in there.

The one thing I would like to do before I die is to travel to Berlin and cross into the formerly communist east and back. The mere fact it's now possible to do so frankly makes me a little emotional. It would also satisfy a gnawing curiosity I've had about that side of Berlin since I lived in Germany 40 years ago.

Yes, me too. I visited DDR and yes, the TV tower still has a restaurant that moves round the dome.
