- Hall effect sensors are an extremely effective means of measuring movement. They have the added ability to work really well in a non-contact environment. They can be used to measure rotation, linear movement, or wired to act as a simple switch or button.

Not too difficult. Just take a reading and calculate the RPM. I have a tutorial on LCD screens too.

what kind of hall effect do u use sir?
It's not available right now. But I really like this one -- www.adafruit.com/product/158 -- Just make note of the different connections (like GND) Always read the datasheet.
