Actually, no. YG never thought BLACKPINK would be successful and he (the CEO) made clear he told them. BLACKPINK had to fight for Whistle as their debut song, since the company didn't believe the song could be a success. Whistle became a whole hit making them the FIRST group whose debut song song achieved a PAK. Even till this day the company is still undermining BLACKPINK's success.
He never said he never thought Blackpink would become successful, he said he never thought they would become THIS successful. Also it wasn’t just him that didn’t believe in whistle, it has a bunch of people who weren’t confident in it because it was so different and felt empty. They thought it was too much of a risk for a debut song which is a valid concern. I’m happy they fought for that song along side teddy but in the end they all agreed and went with whistle.
I remember there was an article about YG talking about how BP was kind of an experiment group to see how far they could go (Because PinkPunk was obviously canceled). I just didn't like how he compared 2ne1 to Blackpink. I really hope Blackpink doesn't end up the same as 2ne1 did because both of the groups had to wait 4 years to get a full album, they were treated well in the beginning but slowly got mistreated in the end. Since YG has a new ceo, I hope this good treatment continues for Blackpink and all the other groups/artists under YG. Its sad how their success is very under appreciated and no one talks about how people just assume that bp gained success overnight.

it was never told by YG that Blackpink wont be successful. Especially something by YG himself. YGE isnt a private owned company. Its a public owned since 2012-2013. He cant just put out a group that they invested in for 6 years just to say they wont be successful. Whistle wasnt considered as a debut song not that they dont want to release that forever. Blackpink pushed for it along with teddy. Which happens to many songs and many groups too.Because Blackpink always had alot of budget put into them. Teddy was assigned to them and teddy is the top producer in kpop who worked on 2NE1 and even refused to work for Lady Gaga because he is super loyal to YHS and has been with YGE for almost 2 decades. So the company isnt undermining their success. I have been a Blackpink stan ever since their debut.
I recommend watching their Netflix documentary. You don’t have to upload it on your TH-cam channel. You can do it in your free time. More BLACKPINK plsss!! 🖤💖

Their friendship is one of the things that made me a huge BLINK. Jennie and Jisoo (Jensoo) and Lisa and Rosé (Chaelisa) are true soulmates. Although they’re all really close, those pairings are the strongest. And like you said, Jisoo was there at Rosé’s music video filming, and Lisa went to rosé’s first live performance for her debut to support, and Jennie send rosé gifts and talked on the phone to her. They’re always so supportive of eachother

Jisoo was there and supplied drinks to the staff early morning for jennie's solo, she was there for whole day for lilifilm dance shooting for Lisa, she was there for the filming of Rosie's music video..... she's almost always the one who posts first by far for the group or members promotions.....be grateful

Antis often say Blackpink is just successful because of YG... That they have it easy because they debut under a big company...
Disregarding this things:
1. To debut under a big company they need to work hard, impress, and prove their worth from AUDITION, TO TRAINING, EVEN AFTER THEY DEBUT.
2. Debuting under a big company especially YG comes with GREAT PRESSURE AND BURDEN TO MEET OR UPHOLD COMPANY'S REPUTATION!!!
3. Having seniors like Bigbang and 2ne1... They were faced with unending comparison, critism, and so much expectation... Even until now, even if they are one of the biggest group, even they have paved their own way and created their own name... Their are still so many who puts them under the shadow of their seniors...
4. Blackpink are PRIVILEGED... Damn, the girls left all privileges when they enter yg... They are all living comfortably with privilege of choosing whatever professions they would choose to take. But they left that and lived with limited allowance from the company... If they have the privilege of YG name, then its still a product of their hard work from 4-6 years of training...
The hate on Blackpink are all very unreasonable... They are all humble girls who worked hard for their dreams. I hate when people say they have it easy when the truth is auditioning and becoming a trainee under YG is a struggle in itself (YG is very well known for that, if you don't meet expectations, then goodbye). And saying they owe their success only because of YG is bullsh*t! YG and their senior groups have a part but Blackpink became BLACKPINK because they worked hard for it. They never showed us all their struggles cuz they want to be recognised for music and talents not just because they have no money, cheap food, debuting from small companies or anything else to get sympathy...
Blackpink never ask for numbers or charts! Blackpink don't need anyone's PITY... what they want is for people to be inspired and enjoy the songs they release!
"I pity you for pitying me"... Jisoo have this line in LSG. Like I said they don't need pity but support and love.
IF YOU CAN'T LOVE THEM, ATLEAST RESPECT THEM!

That was fun! They really are special. It never fails to amaze that each are so different, but together they compliment each other so well. Their individual person personalities shows through even in their music videos. It feels as if one were missing, they wouldn't be the same.

I really enjoyed your comments during this reaction. And yes, they are always supporting each other during solo activities. For example, Rosé solo came out and we see that Jisoo was there during the shooting of the MV even though she was shooting for SNOWDROP (an upcoming kdrama where she's the protagonist), Lisa was shooting for the Chinese survival show YOUTH WITH YOU where she is a dance mentor but made time to go with Rosé for moral support (Rosé posted their pictures on her Instagram) when she went to record her first live performance of OTG even tho it was like at 4am, and so on and on.
i got into them because of music but i love them even more when i got to know their personalities. they're so humble and so inspiring.
During rosie's promotion of on the ground, klisa showed up on her first ever live performance, jisoo visited her in her mv making, and jennie attended her online fan meeting for the album, rosé was surprised to see her because she thought she's one of her fans lol. Love the girls 🥰🥰🥰❤️❤️😊😊😊

just a side note, even though blackpink is under yg entertainment, the one that was responsible in the project of forming the girls into one group was Teddy, the producer that blackpink works very closely with even untill today, blackpink usually jokingly calls him the fifth member of blackpink
also kpop idols usually have to work extremely hard in their first few years after debut in order to pay up for their time as trainees, it is almost like paying up ur college fees when u start working and earning money.

actually, yg did not expect them the blow up at all 😭 he said he was worried about how they would do before they debuted because unlike their former groups blackpink had no survival show prior to debut. he had no expectations or trust in them...plus yg is known for making their artists (especially women) very insecure about themselves with his remarks so...yeah

As Jennie Solo (less than 3 min) is rather short, you can combine it with their pre-debut dance to BBHMM (1 min).
