I encourage who hasn't already seen the documentary One Metal Man should give it a watch. It's about Leviathan, Xasthur and Striborg's life! It gives you an perspective on just how sad this music really is
Este tema lo escucho cuando caigo en ese momento de soledad, cuando te sientes tan solo y que no hay solución ni vuelta atrás. Es tan oscuro y tranquilizante.
@@danielbriano3659This sort of music reminds us that we aren't alone. This sort of music also leads one towards self destructive and reckless behavior. Much love from New Zealand!!!
I dont care what they are saying. Its how it makes me feel. Like perseverance through the dawn of pain. Like surviving another day through hell. So much pain. So hard to move on.
It feels odd. Some time ago I looked specifically for old comments under vaporwave songs(like from 2009-11). You feel like you're looking at some kind of graveyard wondering what are they up to nowadays @@CognitiveHelper
Man has the right to live by his own law- to live in the way that he wills to do: to work as he will: to play as he will: to rest as he will: to die when and how he will
This is some of the best work I've heard from LEVIATHAN yet! This whole split is superb!!! All their songs are just BLACK METAL at its best at this present day.
An awesome song by an awesome band. You know that with a name like Leviathan, you'd expect a lot, and it's certainly not a disappoint here. |m| Leviathan |m|
you should check out xasthur's album "telepathic with the deceased" and immerse yourself in it. it should be uploaded somewhere on youtube....but i recommend buying!
We fall into nothing And they find me Behind the glass Another experiment Another obsession Is it in place? Another piece, blood collection Cutting me for the sake of shame She begins another act Vomiting a certain tone We are unfailing again Unfailing fall into naught
Xasthur's vocals can be grating, although I think that's on purpose, but it's easy to immerse yourself in the atmosphere created. Check out Xasthur's cover of "The Cold Earth Slept Below". As for other bands, I recommend Lurker of Chalice, Antagonic Omnipotent Catharsis, Blut Aus Nord, Ash Borer, and there were a lot of other good recommendations down in the comments section.
Well, it's not like Wrest usually doesn't sound like a tortured pig (and I mean that as a compliment), but it never bothered me with Xasthur or Leviathan, it just fits like a glove. And that recording of Malefic screaming his lungs out with Nachtmystium live is absolutely fantastic.
For anyone who enjoys Leviathan, Xasthur, Striborg, Nortt, Drudkh, Forgotten Tomb, or other depressive/atmospheric bands. I have self recorded a DSBM/atmospheric album. Truly depressive, truly underground. Utter Blackness - What Could Have Been
absolutely, black metal just takes you to another realm, i dont even download metal without paying because the experience is worth the money, and i know how hard it is to construct a soulful song
Yeah, I was just listening to Tortured by Solitude in my car this morning. Also, I usually recommend Escape for people that aren't really into metal. Haven't really paid much attention to Thy Light but if the music is "nice"
psychedelic is actually pretty good in comparison to other kinds of music out there and its my second favorite after metal . Its structure and complexity kinda reminds me of technical metal stuff which i love. The other reason why its my 2nd favorite music is cause it sounds totally different when u are on any kind of drugs or weed and when u are sober. Its a music designed for that kind of experiences and its propably the best music when u want to see and hear everything different than normal :)
Jef Whitehead played in punk as well as math rock bands in his earlier days which gave him a wider creative outlook than someone who would just start with black metal only, hence why his music sounds unique because its a culmination of how he plays different genres appropiated into Black Metal. Your capability to write and create strengthens heavily if you explore multiple ways of doing so
Ya and each guy chokes up at some point in the documentary and is like "Thats something I dont want to talk about..." cuz they are so sad guys! I want to give them all 3 a hug so bad.
@ThouArtNaught Verrater will give you a great array of the demo works. Many more songs on that compilation (especially the first disk) will give you an atmosphere similar to this song, more so than any full length album. For specific songs, try King of Province - Glacial, and Sklaverei.

Arguably the most beautiful piece of audio art ever made by humankind.

True, but if you’re lucky you’ll have one good person near you when you do.

Comment of the day :)
Like dogs, far away & alone.
Only those without higher selves
Really glad to see nothing but positive comments on this stuff.
All the people who would make negative comments have killed themselves lol
It’s 🍌 🍌
the guitar tone and recording quality is just fucking spectacular

And the bass! In a black metal song of all things.

I love the beautiful ambient part at the end. It's like I'm actually falling into naught.
good black metal brings out the emotions in you in a way you don't need drugs to capture its true meaning and enjoy it.
listening to music sober is great but it's even better when you are lost in the clouds.

You clearly havent done heroin to leviathan. Life changing.
Intro and ending is the best part of the song.

seeing as it’s leviathan fans who can tell 😹
This is some really incredible stuff. Hasn't aged at all and the synth portion is deeply moving. Very inspired music by any metric.
This will forever be my go to track when I'm feelin down
One of the first BM songs I heard back in 2015
I could drive for days listening to this stuff
The atmosphere at the end of track is insanely good. You can feel getting lost in its dark essence. It’s similar to “Submersed” from Tenth level.
I watched it the other day. It is one of the best documentaries about black metal in my opinion.
Wrest is a genius!
love Leviathan............grim as fucking hell
At the end you can feel that all the things that you hated in the earth finally has a perpetual peace with death.
I just remembered this band from like seven years ago. They were on some century media compilation that came with my immortal cd.

Amazing cold harsh dark melancholy. Winds of despair. Oneness with naught.
Have to point out the nice memorable riffs as well.
Best song on the album. A classic!
