- Hey everyone and welcome back! This video I will be organizing my pantry which is LONG OVER DUE! I can barely stand it anymore I desperately need this space to be organized so we can better utilize it.
I'll leave a link below for the video on how to make these renter friendly foam board shelves to cover up that ugly wired shelving that came with our home. It costs less than $20 and just completely changes this space.

I LOVE that you printed out words and traced them!!! It's nice to see that someone gave an easy way to do that instead of saying buy labels on etsy or use a Cricut machine that is sponsoring my video. Thank you so much for an easy way to label bins!
The "before" looked ver nice and cohesive too...but ok the "after" looks better with those new containers you got. I am obsessed with the clear containers.
You are not only a GREAT organizer, but also a great teacher. I wish the Home Edit ladies were that detailed when demonstrating their work on their Netflix show, rather than focusing on the final product. BRAVO!!!
Yes the home edit is meh “ok” I think they get all the hype because they have a final product that is rainbow coordinated and its eye appealing. Home girl here nailed the organization!

I love how you place all the containers on the shelves to see how it’s going to look before even filling them ! The pantry looks absolutely beautiful !
To get that sticky residue off, just spray a little WD40 lubricant onto a paper towel and rub off the sticky stuff, then wash with soap and water. Works really well for most all sticky residues from labels.
Really like you showing all the little goals and lessons learned. It’s nice to see that everyone makes these mistakes, and we can all learn!
Goo gone should take off the stickiness. Or, when you remove labels, use a hair dryer to heat up the label as you pull it off and it should come right off.

i wish they just made the labels that easily come off… soooooo satisfying
hot water should loosen the adhesive then you should be able to just roll it off
Lemon essential oil as well!
Nail polish remover that contains acetone will take off residual sticker adhesive easily.
Another trick with labels on hard plastic I have found is do not wet first. First instinct is to soak it off but that only seems to work well on glass. As someone else said, Goo Gone and Dawn for residue.
just a tip ... next time you add new unopened food to older opened food , put the older food in last so that it is used first and lessen the chance of it going bad . i.e. the pancake batter

I love the idea of printing labels and tracing on the outside with chalk marker as I don’t have a cricut machine - genius!!! Also, taping cooking directions (&/or nutrition info) is awesome; I like the mix of containers as well vs just clear or all one type…Thank you!
I have cut the ingredients paper off & put it on the back inside so we can see for the carbs for my 4 yr old grandson w Type 1 Diabetic. Now we can just look on the container s.

I always use baking soda and a scrubbing sponge. The sticky comes right off 🙂 great video! 👍🏼

I absolutely love it, its so neat and I'm trying with my pantry
I'm using the large clear containers for long term food storage in the daily pantry. That way I'm more aware of using what I have (because I can see it. I also want to put a start/end date on the container so that I can be more aware of how quickly we go through different products.)

I just got all the same containers and used goo gone. After I get the sticky off I just used some cleaning spray so there was no goo gone oil. Worked like a charm. Plus I love the gone gone smell which is an added bonus

Hi Ashley! I’m new to your channel, but I just love how your pantry turned out! I’ve seen those OXO Pop containers at Costco as well. Every now and then they go on sale. You’ve addressed a lot of concerns that I have had with these dreamy pantry organizational videos because we end with with a lot of mixed items like chips, etc. I like how you used those wooden containers for those because you’re right-all clear is very overwhelming. Your pantry turned out great. You have beautiful handwriting! I have tried the Cricut way of labeling, and it’s such a pain. You have the most practical solution of handwriting the labels on them and taping the instructions on the back! Buying labels doesn’t help, too, because it doesn’t cover everything you need. Rubbing alcohol, nail polish or lighter fluid can also help remove sticky residue, as well as lemon essential oil. If it’s a big label and many of them, sometimes I soak them in hot water, baking soda and dawn.

Alcohol takes off the glue without scratching or fogging the plastic.
Olive oil is effective in this case
A vinegar is also a solution
Avon's skin-so-soft works great and doesn't fog the plastic
Blow dryer also works to loosen the glue.
Goo Gone is very good too!

I love the idea of the transfer of labels! I use the same chalk markers for a board I keep in my kitchen for weekly meals. The sticky adhesive can be taken off with Goo be gone. You can find it at Walmart.

The last place we rented did not even have a pantry. I ended up using 4 IKEA 2X2 cubes and clear containers and other inexpensive shelving and Dollar Tree containers on top to "make a pantry". It was very visible, but it was functional and worked well with what we had. The cubes have been so helpful whenever we have moved! They have made spaces that didn't have enough functional space suddenly a lot more functional.

Nail polish remover on cotton wool to remove the sticky residue! I love this by the way!

For removing sticker residue:
Use some type of oil like olive oil and use the soft side of a sponge DO NOT USE THE ROUGH SIDE of the sponge, it will scratch the containers.
You can then just use soapy water to wash off the oils so its not slippery

I got dollar tree foam board and contact paper, then cut to fit bottoms of wood cupboard shelves. I used mod pod be to make the contact paper stick better. No more peeling or tearing of my shelf liners!
