this won Awards? though I did like the space scenes the derelict vessel and the intricate variables within the video I fail to see how it could possibly win award it was not truly spectacular
This was absolutely amazing from start to finish. This has to be one of the best space scenes that captures a Mega Space ship turning on and activating all of its main propulsion drives and accelerating immediately. Since the Engines power is a cool burn plasma technology that produces acceleration for the ship and it accelerates the space junk behind the ships immediate expanse to a fantastic rate of speed. I love the sensation of the power. The ship looks like it is moving slow and you do not get the full effect of this video unless you really zone into it and watch every detail. I know this because the first time I watched this video several months ago I was doing other things and when I saw the part i didn't realize the magnificent awe !
I'm surprised that the comments are full of people who write negative critic without noticing that it's a short wonderful piece of art that is to be enjoyed - if there were any professionals commenting they could make use of more uplifting & constructive ways of commenting, so I'm guessing none of the critics are professionals....
Can't miss with one of Alfred Besters great plots as a screen script. 'Tiger, Tiger' or 'The stars my destination' is an novel. Excellent visualisation - well done.
Apart from the faces and facial animations this is a beautiful work of art. So humans on an outpost world were attacked by aliens (or another human faction), the guy was on a space station at the time of the invasion, his girl died as a fighter pilot, he gets blown into space and in death reunites with his girl, did I get that right?
What a fantastic project. I'm really impressed how you were able to get such great renderings in low-light settings (I tend to get a lot of fireflies). The perception of scale is epic. The planets, spaceships, debris field. Top notch! I hope you get lots of other work from this.
Starlight starbright the first angel I see tonight. I wish I may I wish I might live to see another fight. My love awaits I've been shown in a dream, I'm all alone.
Simply a beautiful, outstanding effort, and one of my most enjoyed films I have watched here. Your efforts are are definitely appreciated... I want to give this 100 (or maybe even 1,000) likes. Thank you!!! Best Regards and Good Luck to your future efforts, WC
I love the music and would like to hear more of Pawel Korniaks creations. I already subscribed to this group so I will be able to see more of these fine graphics... But I really like to hear a longer peace of Pawels music... (brought tears to my eyes) greetings from Hollandia !-) ps. Could you +MadArtistPublishing provide me with a link to Pawel's website ? z góry dziękuję ;-)
I can see this is a great job and why it took 4 years, if they say so but the story after the guy meets his enemy in space should not be left up to every individual viewer. " The story itself was most important part of whole project. Its written in a way to be very simple with an ending where everyone could create his own explanation" (from the description) show me something to watch not something to make sense of your stupid unexplainable ending.
summary: humanity is on a verge of extinction, some dude training to fight back, unknown forces win, death is the only salvation. what is up with happy ending?!
I am not skilled enough in animation to do something like this yet, but I hope that if and when I finally put my hand to the task it wont take 4yrs. The $25k budget expenses allocation is not known, but a decent camera and computer system could be the culprit. Still not convinced it should take 4 years though. I think the script is bad. A running theme in sci fi is for a man to get to earth from space with no heat shield and no parachute. These people may need to learn a bit of science first. So it cannot justify it getting an award unless ofcourse the system is RIGGED!
intellexae His pilot girl is assumed to have died in the attack, so I think we can also assume he's joined her in some sort of personal heaven. The animation for the space scenes are excellent, and are totally award worthy.
Thanks for the info. I am still not convinced this one really beat the competition. But on a brighter note, I don't want to rid negativity here. All in all, given the degree to which China seems to have taken over Hollywood, I am becoming increasingly thrilled with the vast assortment of original films available via the Internet that are not hamstrung by the 'worship China' movement. I sense a pivoting of the film industry through this method. But even though the films are readily available through TH-cam, not everybody is willing to sit an watch them through Ethernet, Wifi, and smartphones. Many people re very interested in these films but wish they were available though DVD as well. Its a market worth a second look, so I hope you guys are able to access the offline market that way without IP theft and such. Please keep me posted. Thanks.
Yeah WTF? although this was made almost 5 years ago, has animation advanced that much in a few years? Fallout four and Skyrim SE have better animation. aand they'ree games.
The story is so _`open to interpretation`_ that there effectively is no story. The visuals look nice; but, this animation is really just a vehicle that a visual/cgi animation artist can use to add, perhaps, to a resume to show that they have potential, such as in an application to a school or to a job. The story is hollow & lame as it has no point or narrative that coherent or lucid. Based on the story alone, this video is a waste of 12 minutes of my life.
i dont care about sound or no sound in space. Yes reality there is no sound. But a lot of well known series and movies have space battles where shit blows up, hence sound. I just found it incredibly boring and the animation is shit, whats worse it took the poor man four years to complete. Was hopeful with this but as usual big let down, especially when they say "award winning"
Unrealistic. Garbage. But nice graphics. Story is bad. he doesn't protect himself from debree from ships engines pushing space garbage his way? Alot of this cg doesn't make sense. Sorry but I rate this 1 out of 10 a. 5 at best.
Very very well done! But please stick to physics. A hammer does not create sound in space!!! literally the first thing I had to facepalm. Apart from that, very very beautiful!
the vibrations from the hammer striking the metal would have traveled through his suit. probably not as a sharp metallic clang but more a muffled thudding depending on construction of the suit.
It does however make a sound in the metal. The astronaut was holding onto the metal. That means sound wave transmission into the suit is realistically possible. That of course doesn't change the fact that there were plenty other sounds actually transmitted through space in this short...
That I agree with but the movie is still fiction. You can pick apart what's accurate and what's not all day. My only gripe is that I see people do this with sci-fi movies all the time. The entire movie is label as sci-fi not just parts of it.
Tigris Mask Hmm. Interesting. TH-cam didn't show me the 10 day old answers to this comment... :D I agree, though. Building a good atmosphere (pun intended) without sound is a lot harder. However, Interstellar did a pretty good job at this, so it's not impossible.
ElectroBlood Finally someone that knows what he's talking about! Very true...but they could have just as easily muted audio in the recording studio. Not so hard there. Either way, thank you for the intelligent comments. 👍 So few here on youtube. 😃
so much hardwork in this movie. but only 27.000 views? but... but... why...???
The Stars my Destination, up until the survivor gets knocked off the wreck of his ship.
I firmly agree with David, a heart-lifting story, well designed and executed - including the equally fine sound track!
Speech, Speech!

Brawo chłopaki!
At 7:20 The A.I./Aliens were like "oh shit, hell nah he's from the blue planet, this civilization kill each other, better let him die here, bye".
Yeah 😂😂😂
Wspaniale.
Good work! A real attention to detail in the graphics! Thank you!
Outstanding!

Nice alien reference in the beginning.
Congratulations! Beautiful film!
I liked it a lot a lot! Great story with a positive ending. Thank you so much for making this fantastic short. You made my day.
A fine story very well executed. Bravo.
This needed to be longer this was wow epic
awesome!
Impressionante!!!

What!? A cinematic Short VFX Movie that has no letterboxes?!
damn beautiful. love it
i liked it
The ending reminded me of Metal Gear Solid 3 meets 2001
I love it!

Great job!! very well done!
if this was a movie i would love to watch it :)
Like the end of Gladiator.

enjoyed it very poignant indeed

Here there is an mistake when astronaut hammering. In space there is no sound because there is no air
His hand was touching the hull as he hammered so he would have heard it.
You guys miss the bigger issue he is hammering out a tapped bolt like a flat bolt. What is going on there.
Could be way shorter.
But good and big work.
"TIGER, TIGER !" by Alfred Bester, beginnig.
Beautiful composition. Very enjoyable.
Much inspiration from "The Stars My Destination" by A Bester? Same beginning.
So, what, we are the stars, then when we meet "the one", we make a new world?

award winning comment.. see I can do it too 😒
Omg. They should learn from game development studios how to create cinematics.
Also derp face.

Jay C. It's a good game with a terrible name. "Space Engineers"
In space no one can hear you scream.
Somehow I don't get what it means
