  • How to live a peaceful and gentle life - slow living in the English countryside.
    Life is becoming more hectic and difficult each day, so now it's more important than ever to find little moments and activities which bring us joy and calm. These are some of my suggestions for how to live in a more cozy and gentle way.
    00:00 - 00:29 Intro
    00:30 - 04:00 Slow Rainy Morning Routine
    04:01 - 07:09 Foraging & Learning about plants
    07:10 - 08:01 Reading, Thrifting, Indoor Gardening
    08:02 - 09:32 Nettle Hair Rinse & Self Care

    NETTLE HAIR RINSE
    Pick about 8-10 nettle tops or whole stems, wash thoroughly. Boil 1L of filtered water and pour over your nettle in a big bowl. Cover and leave to cool, then put in the fridge and infuse for 24 hours or overnight. The water will turn deep greenish brown colour. Pour into a spray bottle or a jar using a sieve.
    Wash your hair the way you usually do, and then either pour the nettle rinse over your hair whilst in the shower, or spray generously on the entire length. Massage the scalp. Don't rinse out.
    I am not sure how this rinse would work on lighter hair, so I suggest testing it out before you commit! Also, patch test on your hand before use, to make sure it doesn't cause any irritation.

      I personally love just walking barefoot next to the creek.. listening to the birds and other creatures...big or small.. just watching the clouds float by.. Nature's elegance brings me the most peace❤

      Spending a day alone in a wildlife refuge or state/national park identifying birds butterflies, other insects, animals and plants with keyed nature identification books. I have done this monthly with a amateur naturalist group and loved the interaction, challenge and friendship while trying to identify a much as we could depending on our interests, ending up with group dining at a local eatery. Lots of fun and camaraderie. Thanks for your beautiful and thoughtful videos.💚😊 Love your kitty, similar in color and habits of ours who is also fixated on what goes on outside

    I wish there was a forest like that where I am living. I had tears when I saw those big trees, yearning for something I don't remember anymore. Like a mother's hug, unconditional and full of love. ❤I wish I could live in a place like that forever. Those trees make me feel more at home than the place I call home now.

    Beautiful and relaxing. Thank you. I always try to do everything I can the simple and traditional way, e.g., I use a manual coffee grinder as well; as well as hand tools (not power tools); foraging, gardening, and cooking with organic whole foods; and reading real books and not just reading from screens. It makes all the difference. One of my favorite ways to relax is watching your beautiful videos. 💖🥀🌻🌳🌲 Peace be with you friend. 🕊

      @@IamDaria (Very late answer, due to frequent migraine attackas lately) Hello Daria! I use my junk journal for different things like: what books I've read (22 books so far in 2024), sometimes affirmations using stickers & other paper embellishments, gluing in old photos from when I was abroad for 5 yrs in the 80's, if I've done a stationary haul, etc. Anything at all I'd like to document. Some of the journals I've made myself from scratch, one was gifted and I bought one. I use a lot of torn out old papers pages to decorate, and sometimes stamps. It's a lot of fun and very therapeutic! I've always liked to write. Hope you're doing well! Kind regards from Ditte in the south of Sweden

    • @IamDaria
      @IamDaria  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Ooh what! That must’ve hurt so much! 😱😱😱 Nettle is just everywhere and I sting myself almost daily 😅 I think the more you encounter it, the more of a kind of “immunity” you build perhaps… I was stung by it many times as a child, but then moved to London where it is almost non existent, and the first time I stung myself after many years was soooo painful! But then I got used to it again I guess 😆

      Oh wow, interesting. And here I am thinking I had a good eye. Some clips just seemed to be filmed at higher frame rates, e.g., when you grind the coffee or when you turn on the lamp by your couch. Perhaps it’s the shutter speed you’re using? Either way, this is feedback on a small technical aspect. Your storytelling and framing is really good, regardless! 👏🏼
